Animating on 2’s is a professional animation technique, I believe there was an animated Spider-Man movie that used it (sorry can’t remember the name of it right now!)
IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION if you're a beginner. More frames doesn't neccesserily mean better animation. Nice animation is composed of good motion and animation principles (they really help out). If the motion of your characters is easily readable from just a few frames. Then you can add more frames (some motion does require more frames i mean there are always some exceptions). I mean all i said is more appliable to pose to pose method, but even if you go straight ahead you should still keep everything i said in mind (like when you do stopmotion).
Whoo I'm so proud of you for speaking about this. You have come so far! Genuinely, though, feel free to take breaks or even retire. Just please come back to say hi once in a blue moon
it's cool how the among us thing isn't shoved down our throats, but merely a simple backround element with the among us music and animation, but he never strickly mentions it as "among us character"
A thing I do is create a simple storyboard and change the frames around until I get the timing just right. Its very messy but it helps to plan out before I begin animating. :)
This video just gave me a whole new meaning for fps, I understand now... It's not how many frames I have to do, it's how many frames I have to fill in to get from point A to point B. Now I feel motivated to boost up my animation from 6 fps to a higher frame rate.
note that more frames ≠ better animation. professional animation industries often use 24 frames per second and even then some of the frames repeat for more frames at certain points during the animation, so the frame is held for longer.
I'm a complete noob at animating but what I find easy is that you draw kind of the main sections first in like a low fps setting and then you increase the fps as you draw the frames in between the main frames to make it smoother. That basically outlines your main ideas and makes it easier to see what you're trying to do
I think they meant the main fps, Like whenever you create a project the fps is automatically set to the desired fps you set in the settings Then that'll help me to not struggle scrolling to get 15 fps
This is actually a good tutorial for newcomers, I used to make animations and I'd always make the stop motion ones on 17 frames per second and the other ones on 11
add a remove color feature, click the eraser and a sponge will apear and you can remove the white backround stuff on stock images edit : you can do it, so basically click the paint bucket and then drag the color identification thing outside of the canvas and click on the backround of things
i’ve just started animating and i’ve been liking to use 10 fps but that’s just me, i personally like it slightly chunkier and plus it’s easier cause you need less frames..
Drawing tip: never shade with black, or lighten with white. Try using lighter colors, for light, and darker colors for shading. For example: Lighten:❤->🩷 Darken:❤->🥀
the problem is that it's a bad habit, and learning how to hold the same drawing for multiple frames instead of changing the FPS is how you should do it to make it as customizable as possible. that's what they do in Disney movies, Richard Williams movies, Warner Bros movies, all the anime studio movies, cartoon saloon movies, etc.
You can also either use double frame, triple frame or quadruple frame. It does make your animation slower but better. I've been using this method and it helped me a lot
they never say about the basic principles of animation, How are spacing, time, gravity, something to make animations that look professional, they only teach in their own way, I think...
Thanks this tutorial was very helpful because some of my animations are to fast but i knew how to lower fps but i didnt know that if they are the same amount of frames it would be better
Also, if you need the animation to be a higher fps but you want it to be less frames or look choppy, you can duplicate the frames (just do the fraction math!) to match. For instance: make 2 duplicates (3 frames total) of each frame and set the fps to 12 to get "4fps at 12fps". God speed!
In my opinion, I honestly think using 12 frames per second would be better. I mean, if you want to you can use a higher number to make your animation smoother. Don't over do it, please. I've seen many people trying to make too smooth animations that they mess up. I mostly recommend using 30 Frames Per Second and under. If you're okay with it then do whatever you want. I just recommend using 12 FPS for beginners. I use it a lot.
