I work for a samsung repair partner. The reason the black screens are more expensive is because they've been on limited stock for around 2 years. it was the most popular model phone i repaired in 2021 by far.
Black is generally the most common option on phones, so I'm not surprised here that this was on back order parts wise. Lots of people prefer not to having their device look flashy as with the other colors.
I’ve been watching your videos for nearly 2 years now, I’m only 14 but have started my buy, repair, and resell business on eBay. I love repairing devices and there’s a satisfying feeling about a repair on those devices. I only work on iPhones though, but am planning to spread to other devices or even other brands. This all is only possible due to what you taught me, all my experience came from your videos. It all started when my iPhone 6 had touch disease, I watched one of your videos on a screen replacement for this device, and it only grew from there. By now I’ve probably repaired over 100 iPhones. Thanks Hugh Jeffrey’s, I love your videos!
Good Luck! I suggest starting with popular, yet not too expensive Android devices (well, I don't know which Android models are popular in your country so I can not suggest any of them) You will see, that some of them have way easier repairability, than iPhones. In any case, keep upwhat you're duing!
I'm watching this in my s21 that I repaired myself. You where one of the major people who helped me to see that it's possible to fix these broken things. Thank you
For sure. I miss that. And the colors of the note 10 plus. The grey on the s20 ultra looked good too but someyhing about that glow is awesome. Though the fact that my s22 ultra is green may e helps me keep it in a case, where the former two I constantly kept out of the cases. I still have the note 10 plus and the back glass is shattered. Though it was in the strongest case I ever owned wjen it happened so idk if cases even really matter or not these days.
Bro why does your voice sound down? Hope everything is alright. If not, then know that whatever it is, it's temporary and it will pass. Sending positive vibes your way my dude :)
You do amazing work, I have the S21 Ultra and heard it was impossible to replace the battery. You make it look so effortless. Wishing there was someone so proficient in the states
Hey Hugh! i noticed that you don't sound very well maybe you should take a longer break? you sound exhausted if anything is happening please treat yourself better. Lots of love
Same, the newer Galaxies haven't really given huge benefits to upgrading besides the S-Pen and the apparently amazing battery life on the S23U Might just hold onto this till 2024
Been using my S10 for 2 and a half years now, the only thing that's getting a bit bad is the battery life, but other than that, I literally have no reason to upgrade
All identical Phillips-head screws, motherboard held in by just one clearly visible screw slap-bang in the middle - sweet. Surely this sort of design is helpful for both manufacturing AND repair.
I just got a screen repair on my s22 ultra. It was $30 through my carriers insurance. The guy let me watch and the process went identical to this s21 pretty much. Took the guy like 15 minutes to swap the important bits into the new frame, battery was included on it, like you said. And boom done. I've missed this phone so much
Your videos are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME !!!!!!!!! it's super relaxing to sit back and watch these after a day of FIXING CARS , WHAT A BIGG W :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got one of these repaired a few days ago as well, got it off a friend for £100 and the display and back were also busted touchscreen was busted and was also showing bad pixel damage like this, but I ordered a used screen and back glass that look brand new and the phone is now back up and running and I love it. Always been a huge samsung fan boy, first samsung was a s6 edge plus then a s8 then a note 8 and a s10+ and now s21 ultra.
Even tho its "just a phone," that is the WORST feeling ever! Like slow mo "Noooooooo!!" Kinda same level if you got a call that your child fell down😂😂😂
Honestly one of the only samsungs I'd actually want, a rather nice design and pretty decent performance, value these days would be rather great with devaluation. Quite like the matte black, though silver sides are so premium, plus reflect heat better, color changing stuff is kinda cool, but rather have it be full silver
For f***s sake I'm still rocking the S10 Ultra. I replaced the front screen recently (mentioned it in another Hugh Jeffreys video) and it's still doing just fine. Yeah, I get the urge to be at the bleeding edge of technology but when you sit back and realize that companies are holding back advancements because planned obsolescence is a real thing having the latest and greatest doesn't mean as much any more.
I have a Google Pixel 4 Xl, My brother recently purchased a Pixel 7 Pro, I played with the phone for a bit and realized that the huge improvement I'd thought I'd get, just wasn't there. Especially in photo taking, though video was a huge improvement with 4k 60fps video on all cameras. All in all, it's pretty much the end of upgrading every 2-3 years now. Phones have peaked. With that said, I'm excited about the Pixel 8 Pro!
Samsung no longer has headphone jacks from S21 and newer models, so my S10+ will be with me for a few more years. And it is a refurbished phone from Musicmagpie.
it’s a shame Samsungs S line up have such expensive displays, as soon as the screen goes almost all of them just go to landfill, well done for making sure this one doesn’t!
they make these phones so well held in place and glued down so nothing comes loose but they break so easily but phones from the 80s and 90s were not but they could survive so much hardship and abuse and yet they were not even made in a secure way to last they just did that shows how much manufacturer’s have changed
It's good you caught the last antenna swap, that's a very common thing to miss. When I ran into it the only affected thing was 5g networking so it was harder to tell. Resolving that was a lot of ordering parts as the previous screen had already shipped off XD.
@@ligametis he mentioned he was a power user. The s21 ran hot and inefficient. The s23 finally has a great chipset. Snap 8 gen 2 is finally a good power user soc

As long as you use a lot of heat, plastic tools (a battery remover tool), and isopropyl alcohol, almost all Samsung batteries are a piece of cake to get out. Don't use metal tools if you don't know what you're doing. I've never seen a suction cup used for a battery, but whatever works.
I know this is old, but I want to know where you found the screen and if it supports all the features still like 120hz and high res video or if it aligned good
