Difference: The gas engine keeps this power at this level until it reaches 6000 rpm. And so, this engine revs pretty low also (4000 rpm at 180 km/h).
If you look at the rev counter, the engine is just pottering along at 3500rpm. Those engines will rev to 5000 before they hit the limiter. I wonder if a higher speed could be reached in fifth!

because it's a diesel, it doesn't produce it's peak power at the highest rpms
