    The photos that are left behind, always the saddest part of an abandoned house 😢

    New viewer, found you guys last week and been addicted to your channel since. I love watching urbex since I'm a single dad (with a 3 year old and not much support for sitters). I can enjoy and explore vicariously through you. You're definitely my new favorite urbex content creators. You guys have an awesome vibe, and your descriptions of everything are very detailed. Feels like I'm there chilling and exploring with 2 old friends. I'm subbed and looking forward to all your vids. Gonna be commenting on all of them to help the algorithm push you guys more. Wishing you all the best!

      Wonderful video.. so well shot, edited and presented.
      I am sure there was some way to know why it was abandoned.. I know some will think it doesn’t matter, and I respect that.
      One piece of unsolicited advice: Maybe you should wear a mask and pair of gloves? We don’t know what microorganisms are lurking over here.

    It's weird to see a house abandoned like this. Even if it was foreclosed on, why would you leave everything behind? Especially the boat, baby pictures, clothes, just seems like something was almost after them. Something about that chair near the back of the basement creeps me out. That opening of the basement near the ping pong table that leads back there seems like it could easily be closed off/hidden from view too. Really makes me curious of the history behind this abandonment. Great video! I subbed. 😀

    I believe the green machine with the long handle in the office is a machine to assemble vinyl binding in perforated books or manuals. A book binder. Neat house it has lots of interesting features.

    • @Jennifermcintyre
      @Jennifermcintyre ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. It’s a spiral book binder.. it opens the curled portion of the “rings” then once the pages have the holes punched you slide the pages I’ve the prongs and the plastic pieces curl back and bind the pages together

    I’m I’m definitely not an expert but it seems unusual for a house built in the 1940s to have a steel frame and ceiling trusses. From the drone footage it looks like the attic space was added on top of an older structure but maybe not. Anyway, your videos are great! Keep them coming!!!

    • @patricenagel9442
      @patricenagel9442 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! I love that you both put things back where they were. I wonder if the owner died and there was no will. The room with the fireplace looks original to 1940s and the rest looks built on over the years. So sad

    Watching this video, I can't help but be reminded of the time we left our country and everything behind. My father applied for us to immigrate to another country. We got the approval quite quickly and we had to flee in five days. We packed only what was essential and we left our apartment and all our belongings behind. All our childhood photos, all of our clothes, furniture, all of our personal belongings were left behind, there was still some dishes left as well. It is for sure sad to leave your home, all your loved ones and your country to flee to another country, hoping for a better future. It has been 13 years now since we left. But we have gone back a few times to visit. I'm sure this is the same story with every immigrant.

    @Urbax Vibes Nice video. I wanted to mention that Dark Exploration Films came to this property after you were there. I came across their video before seeing yours. In that garage, Mae mentioned that the first piece of machinery was a drill which is true. To be accurate, it is a drill press. The second machine shown is a band saw. I am a new subscriber to your channel. My favorite videos of yours is the Showcase Cinemas and the Abandoned Neighborhood full of Mansions. Keep up the good work. My theory as to what happened to the owners of this mansion; I think the couple past away and their grown up kids have not claimed or have abandoned the property.

      I live up the street from this house. It'll never be for sale but taxes keep getting paid. The old barn out front got hit by lightening years ago & was finally torn down 3-4yrs ago. The inside is way more destroyed now because of kids & homeless. I really wish i could see a video of the guesthouse on the island but someone would need a boat because the walking bridge out to it doesnt look to safe anymore. Was a beautiful property back in the day. Recently theres been alot of No Tresspassing signs put up around the property.

    I've been through places like this, working with the local phone company, we have the testers for the phone, electric outlets, or a generator, most of the extra beds were usually for butlers, the television with all the switches, was the camera security not the style of cameras used today, those boilers heated radiator heaters & hot water. The circuit breakers in those places you go to might be switched off, any refridgerator you might see open, is to keep it from getting moldy & smelling bad. 2-22-2024

    You should have checked the backs of some of those pictures. Take them out of the frames if possible. Some people would write the names of the people in the photos and the date they were taken. Maybe not exact dates, but month and year or just the year. That would give you a rough idea as to how long ago they'd left the property, and also how long they'd lived on the property.
    Protip for exploring future houses: Rub some VapoRub under your nose, or stick some up your nose. Alternatively, rub some inside an N95 mask or disposable mask and put that over your entire nose and mouth. Helps cut down on the odor.
    That blue thing with the prongs in the office is a binding machine. You use it to punch and bind documents with plastic spiral binding, like you see some cookbooks or manuals.

    Beautiful mansion but with all that stuff like mold dust I would definitely start wearing a mask while walking through homes with all that mold and dust and what other things that could be lurking safety first in homes that are in that bad of shape

    I have watched another group explore this house and if you had gone out into the garden and followed it down towards the lake you would of found a wooden bridge that goes out across the lake to a small island which houses a small lookout house with views across the lake which was owned by the same family....... seems like you missed this out !
