+John Sar he's definitely on juice. He's never claimed natty, and he also has spoke about how all of the high level oly lifters (competitive, anyways) juice iirc. I don't think there's anything wrong with juice, especially if you use it like I assume Clarence uses it.

I utilize rest periods similar to him.. on heavy days I get minimum 5-10 minutes between sets. All my friends think it's stupid but they always fail on their second and third sets or have to decrease the weight.

Basically we are quite anti-fragile and with given time to recovery from an external load (proper programming and recovery strategy) we can actually adapt. When we place this concept into movement, there is another generalized acceptance that for any movement to occur there must be a stable base or anchor for it to pull/push from. A concept that summarizes this complex analysis/explanation is the following: Proximal stability leads to Distal mobility. Or in this case Relative trunk stiffness and bracing (Proximal stability) lead to improved symmetry with lower leg muscle recruitment/power production (Distal mobility).
