Here is something I tell my students: If you hit a wrong note, it normally isn’t a beg deal because most people won’t notice, and, if they do notice, they will likely see it as a minor flaw or perhaps even regard it as an attempt by you to be artsy. Unless you do it an awful lot, they problably won’t think less of your playing. But everyone will notice, and no one will forgive you, if you screw up the beat, even one time. It is the fastest and surest way to come off as bad. So if you are, say, learning to travis pick, the most important thing--the thing you must master before anything else--is a steady alternating thumb that is dead on the money..
Also, your guitar is set up better than most . I mean, it's good action that facilities such soft touches. That means one has to have a guitar that isn't dirt cheap because setups are more difficult on those.
Once EC told an interviewer that he played all day- as in All Day and Night , that's how much he had to practise to maintain his level. That's when he was in theDominos phase
