Real Southern fried quail is much simpler. To me, it is beautiful and tasty in its simplicity. Little salt and pepper, Self RISING flour and fried in oil.

Maybe they mean something different by "the south". He might not be talking about the southern United States.

@@williamloud7350 No he means southern US as he does or at least did live in the United States for a while and it's called Southern Fried Quail because of the spices that go into the batter.
