Seeing Ciryl Gane alone I had the impression he was gonna out-size Ngannou but when I saw them in the octagon it seriously made me realize what a absolute unit Ngannou is.

@@pbplauralfilms he doesn't rehydrate. He just doesn't eat very much that day and he hits the HW limit - those are the times he DOES "cut" a little bit.

He didn’t apologize in the typical fashion… he laid out a case and said he was sorry for offending others. (That sly phrasing does not admit he’s apologizing for getting anything wrong. People’s feelings are theirs, not scientific facts and he’s saying, “I’m sorry I offended you with facts.” When he says “I’ve been wrong before…” he doesn’t mention what he was wrong about or when and adding “I will try to do better.”
is as general as it gets. We all “try to do better.” It’s a blanket statement on how he wants to continue to grow. Very human. The whole thing was perfect.

@@jonathansoko1085 It's too funny to read stuff like this in every comment section. Inevitably there's someone trying to seem intelligent & defend the UFC by highlighting some fighter's inability to sell PPVs, yet simultaneously exposing the fact they've totally missed the forest for the trees.
The UFC tries to make it seem like fighters who generate 250K or 350K PPV buys "aren't needlemovers" & therefore position the fighter as being a whiner w/unreasonable contract demand.
Tyson Fury & Deontay Wilder earned $10MM+ EACH for their 1st fight, w/Wilder's guaranteed purse being $4M & Fury's being $3M, w/both earning $7.5M+ from PPV sales. Total PPV buys? 350K. They followed this w/Fury Wilder 2, which sold approx. 800K PPVs. The GUARANTEED payouts? Fury got $30M & Wilder got $20M.
Jon & DC sold 1.7MM PPVs in total across their two fights. The guaranteed purses given to Jon were $500K for UFC 182 (800K PPV buys) & $500K for UFC 214 (860K buys) while DC earned $90K for UFC 182 & $1M flat for UFC 214.
The fact of the matter is, the UFC is an organization which VASTLY underpays its champions/talented fighters but it EXPLICITLY RAPES their marketable/popular talent w/NO MERCY.
Hell, even Conor, despite what BS he spews about "earning $80M" for fighting Cerrone, in reality earns a PITTANCE of what he should. I mean a bunch of UFC financials have come out in their antitrust lawsuit & showed the UFC paid Conor a TOTAL of $8.5M in 2015 despite selling 2 MILLION PPVs in total. There's been a few guys north of 300 who have competed in MMA outside of UFC. Most of them suck, lol. They can't move. There's been guys in the UFC though who had to cut weight to make 265, Brock Lesnar most famously, he walked around at about 290. I think that's bullshit, it's heavyweight, they should be able to go in there as big as they want. That's the whole point of fighting at heavyweight. It's usually not as much of an advantage anyway, the bigger guys gas out faster and tend to be able to take less strikes. But it's a huge disadvantage for guys like Brock and Mark Hunt to have to starve and dehydrate themselves to make a weight that's completely unnatural for them.

Ngannou is great no doubt. This was one of the most boring UFC main events I’ve ever seen. Not as bad as Usman’s foot stomps. Nothing really happened during Ngannou Gane. The Black Beast vs Tai Shoey-Vasa will be the best heavyweight bout of the year!

Don't you put that bad juju on it. Seems like every time people think a heavyweight fight is going to be awesome, and it seems like it's going to be awesome, it ends up being a dud. Like Francis and Gane, and Francis and Lewis....

Joe consistently says Francis cuts weight to make the heavyweight limit but Francis is always in the 250s on weigh in. You can’t size someone up visually and be accurate, you can only estimate. Guys have different bone structures and densities. He has got to stop hyping Francises weight. He weighs what he weighs. Two fifty something is still huge for a muscular and athletic guy. (He’s six four, by the way).

You obviously don't know anything about Francis, when he fought stipe he cut down to 265lbs, but on fight night he was around 280lbs
