    Thank you for making and explaining very well how to install a diesel heater. I received mine in the mail over two weeks ago.. And still trying to decide where to put it in my skoolie. I know that I'll be watching your video many more times after this. Thank you again.

    Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸. I have been installing and repairing diesel air heaters for over 20 years now and I think you did a good job. One point I would like to make is that the fuel pump should be mounted between 15 and 45 degrees and the fuel line must be pushed all the way up against the nipple of the fuel pump, filter, heater and tank fitting. Also try and get any sharp bends out of the intake and exhaust tubing. I hope this helps you out. Keep up the good work and stay safe and God bless you and your family

    This is a really good video covering the install of these types of heaters. So many miss the important parts about pump angle, exhaust clearance, drain hole (heck that was new to me, have to go look at mine now), lots of other stuff... Most of these kits come with one page of instruction and while not really difficult you can save a lot of time learning from another persons experience. You certainly deserve more views for your efforts.

    I have installed a few now on vans, boats and my house. The tanks I paint with two pack paint (black) but put a strip of tape down the middle or edge to make a fuel window. Two summers and no degradation while my one unpainted tank is starting to suffer a bit with bleached cap and yellowed plastic from just a few hours of sun a day.

    Can you mount the inlet air inside the cabin so it uses the vans air rather than outside air.

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest I never thought of that. It would be like the heater in your car if you have the intake selected or recirculate (inside air like you suggested) . Maybe you would get a buildup of humidity inside the cabin. I guess you could try but would mean you need to put another hole in your heated area. Maybe try to google it . Thanks for watching 👍🍻

    Looks good. But why not keep the intake inside the van? That way the heater doesn't have to work as hard to get the temperature high, especially in winter where the temperature differences can be extreme?

    Hi - great video, very useful. Its been a year now since installation, have you had any problems? Seems a fantastic piece of kits for the price, the whole thing is cheaper than alot of the parts for the Eberspacher to which mine has problems. Well done.... regards Andy.

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sold my caravan 4 months ago now . Absolutely have not had any problems with this heater at all. Was talking to the buyer of my van and he said it’s been great. I always ran the heater on high power for 10 minutes b4 switching off and when not in use for a long period of time I pulled out the fuse so there was no power to the control screen as I have heard they fail . Was the best $180 I ever spent(price at the time) that’s for sure 👍🍻

  • @Kayte...

    No one shows how to attach muffler to exhaust pipe. Both muffler and exhaust have the same size pipe. My kit didn't come with a junction piece and i haven't seen other kits with one either so how do they connect. The pipes butt up to one another. They have the same circumference.

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When both the muffler and exhaust pipe have the same diameter, you usually need a coupler or exhaust clamp that can join them together securely. If your kit didn’t include one, you can find universal exhaust couplers or clamps at most auto parts stores. These are designed to fit over the ends of both pipes and tighten down to create a seal. hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍🍻

    does not need 100 to 150ml clearance, either side, 20 ml is sufficient, but draws air through back of heater to blow out into van, he has near enclosed in box under bed, so where is the air coming from to blow into van, again needs 75ml hose from suction end of heater into actual van or at least vents into box under bed for air draw, as system is a flow through heater, air vent under van is only for combustion chamber
