I dream of a site like that. Really a site about half of that size mixed relics. Awesome stuff and keep us posted and I'm not complaining I been having a great yr myself been checking off bucket listers and some I didn't know I had lol I love this hobby
New sub. Sent here by Aqua Chigger! Great variety of Civil War items!. I've become fascinated with the Civil War and artifacts found. Thank you for a great channel that is right to the point without a lot of "Dude, Dude comments :-)) Your knowledge of the artifacts is appreciated as well. Btw - not all "guys" watching😊
Thanks Andy. Glad you enjoyed it. Between the restorations, Metal Detecting and editing videos for TH-cam I’m definitely staying busy. Stay safe brother and God Bless. -JP Hunts
Great relics, Confederate Button, the Spur and the ring are phenomenal! All the relics are great! Question: The relic that was identified as a poker chip, is it possible that it came from a lead filled bridle rosette? Congrats on the permission!
Wow. That is awesome and thank you for bringing that up. I absolutely didn’t even think of that. It is the perfect size and is lead like the back side of a lead filled cavalry bridle rosette. It makes sense. We are on a Cavalry camp. Thanks for commenting and providing such good insight. God bless. -JP Hunts.
Indeed he did but he was getting it done down in low country and finding nice stuff There is enough relics at this spot to last a lifetime. He will be out with us next time. -JP Hunts
Thanks. We do our best with research and door knocking to get on some nice spots. Fortunately if not for the property owners none of this would be possible for our hobby. Grateful to the property owners for their permissions. God bless. JP Hunts.
That’s what has happened to us as well. We had a camp with over 130,000 Union Troops. We had Calvary, Infantry, Artillery, and Dragoons. Then after years of detecting it, I found a amazing looking CS tongue and wreath that was there and it was off the side of where the main camp was. Makes me wonder if it was someone captured or a Confederate passing through.
Sorry I just can't help myself, me and my digging buddies would love if you could join us sometime or we could even come to you. We hunt from Dandridge TN to SW Virginia
I do remember😉. I’m glad your keeping up on the videos and hope your well. No we don’t pay the property owners. We door knock and get permission from the land owners. Typically they don’t want to keep any items we find but they’re some owners that want some of what we find. Again, most land owners don’t want anything but many do ask to see what we find. Some do take items we’ve dug and that’s fine because it’s truly their stuff anyway. Even if they don’t want anything I always put together a nice display case full of relics and give it to the owner. Glad you doing well and supporting the channel. God bless. -JP Hunts
@@masondixondiggers thats cool i wondered how the "business" side of it worked.. looks like youre doing good yourself these days, ill have to give you a call one day i found we have a mutual friend from your previous full time hobby !! Take care and enjoy ! Jf 👍
Great video your, excitement at so many great finds was infectious. BUT, excavating the spur had me cringing. Safe in the ground over 150 years, it’s not going anywhere, slow down rather than risk damaging the find. Keep up the god work.
I edited out much of the spur footage and how long the actual footage was while digging out the spur. It was a lot longer than it appears. Unfortunately, I have to edit out footage where I can so I can fit all the other good footage of other items into the video. We were definitely careful for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless. JP Hunts.

I found a pistol a few years ago
Enjoying your channel do you know if there are any Civil War sites in NC? Where you can go metal detecting?
Confederate Script I, means that there was probably a captured officer held prisoner in the Federal Calvary Camp.
Yeah. Likely or maybe passing through that area before a union camp was even there. Super excited about it for sure. God bless. -JP Hunts.

Dumb question, these "permission" sites, do you pay the property owners to dig there ? Who owns what you find ? And JP you remember who this is ??? 😉
