That applause lasted close to 20 minutes and he deserved every second of it. That climax was pure perfection, this is easily top 3 of all his performances. He really did knock it right out of the park.
Just imagine singing like this... a full opera! And you have to be a good actor too... By the way, Pavarotti was a great lyric tenor. That's why he is so "soft" (LOL soft)

Oh Lord have mercy, he could change pitch, he could change vocals, he could change the range of his voice from one word to another. AND sometimes it seems like he would even do it in between one syllable and another. When you listen to him you almost feel like your heart has come out of your body and it's beating outside. You have to keep reminding yourself to breathe because you just lose yourself in his oh I hope you know what I'm trying to talk about cuz I don't know how to describe it !!!!!!! He literally took you to another plane of existence when you listen to him and it would seem like your soul literally had grown wings and was flying. Wrong, Giuseppe Di Stefano was his number 1 favourite tenor and his absolute idol. Pavarotti was exceptionally humble and lauded a great manu tenors, Bjorling was one of many he praised.
