He looks so nervous. I feel him, though. I have social anxiety through the fucking roof. Props to him for overcoming his struggles and giving others hope through his music. His lyrics really resonate with me.
Jesse is much better now than he used to be. He has grown as a person and seems much more comfortable in his own skin. And I really love his voice and what he sings about😃.
Alive or Just Breathing is one of my favorite metal albums. "No one is placed higher than another, No matter race or creed or gender, We must teach forgiveness and compassion for all life."
@Gzus Kreist post colonialism? I hope you're not insinuating some false sense of superiority. I'll grant you we're all different. Positive and negative attributes. But we're all have the equal chance to live. While I'm here, Free Palestine. Love to all who don't abuse kids.
The first time I heard of KSE was when my last serenade came out. I instantly liked the band even when Jesse left and Howard took the helm. They're both amazing vocalist, and that band will always be my favorite. I went through a similar path just like Jesse in my teenage years, when I was anti-social, depressed and a complete mess. Looking back now I barely recognise myself, and that band helped my through rough times back in the days.
They got me into metal too! I heard my brother listening to KSE and said it was dumb.. He later made me listen to a softer song (My Curse of course.. lol) and I slowly fell in love. I hardly listen to them anymore (more into prog metal now) but I'll correct Jessie: Alive or just breathing is absolutely a masterpiece..
I love killswitch! I have been listening to them since the beginning! You guys have made a mark on my life! I first heard "My Last Serenade" and I have been hooked since! The band really took off when Howard too over vocals...but I am glad Jesse is back. It gives that original sound that started this band in the first place. I absolutely love the new material. Jesse man..you are killing it and I am glad you came back brother!
WHAT!!!! A GOOD EFFORT!!!! Alive or just breathing is a great album. If it wasn't for albums such as Alive or just breathing, a snowcapped romance, frail words collapse, this darkened heart, suicide notes and butterfly kisses, sounding the seventh trumpet, waking the fallen, Clayman, the caitiff choir. A lot of the albums that came out from 1999-2004 pretty much started a domino effect and i just started looking up bands similar to the bands i was listening to because i was very much into the metalcore scene back then. I remember constantly buying Alternative Press magazine and Revolver and finding out about a lot of bands that way. They would have articles like 100 bands to watch out for and it would have who they sound similar to. That's how i found the confession, it dies today, the devil wears prada, protest the hero and several other bands. The confession didn't get that far, but the requiem album was awesome. I thank killswitch engage for being one of the bands that influenced me to start a metalcore band.
Even though its four yeas ago, alive or just breathin, holy smokes, that album kicks the balls out off as i lay dyeing, in flames what so over... Those are still great bands by the way, but Alive or Just Breathing.... booom... whats left to say, what is a masterpiece anyway, i dont know, i just know, booom.... It kicks ass every time i put on that record, i even played some of the songs for my child while she was in my wifes tommy. Shes one year old now, every Fixation on the darkness comes on, she goes nuts!
So glad Jessie went through what he did on AOJB album it turned out to be one of the best albums of all time! He absolutely killed it!! He seems like such a great dude!! And we’re so glad he back!!
I had the privilege of playing with Jesse's band Seemless back in 96 or 97, they actually opened for my band at the time (not sure how that came about). Of course I did the fanboy thing and gushed about KE and how much I admired him as a vocalist, but after that we spent a half hour or so just talking music. He's no joke. Genuine, determined, and a hell of a nice guy.
Dude that’s so bad ass!! I bet that was one of the best night of your life!! My band played with FLAW in my home town in port Charlotte FL and it was one of the best nights of my life! I got to chill with all the dudes and went back to their Hotel and hung out with them there, we partied “wink wink” and I just couldn’t imagine chilling with Jessie, what a great night that must have been brother!💪😊
He can still do it, but not on the level he was required to for Killswitch. Devil You Know doesn't tour as much, so he has more time to be himself instead of a performer.
As a huge fan of kse I remember when Jesse lost his vocal chords and needed surgery therefore he couldn't perform at fort rock and I was sad but im glad Jesse is better
Alive or just breathing is a masterpiece!! Jessie leach is my favorite of the two singers. No disrespect to Howard Jones love his era got me through some shit. Jessie is still my favorite though
For what it's worth this video made me listen to Alive or Just breathing, which led to me buying the album, which led to me buying their new album. I love these videos, please keep them coming.
+Kid Johnny I'm just asking because they seem to always host the vocalists. Since they both have their own side projects, and are very interesting in their interview both would make good guests despite Serj being the lead vocalist. I do agree with you through, they all could do this very well. have they ever done one of these where they have the whole band there? That would be cool.
+stove top Loudwire has hosted some "non-vocalists" in their Fact or Fiction videos such as Joe Hahn (Linkin Park), Kerry King (Slayer), Shawn Crahan (Slipknot), and others.
Gotta disagree, jesse. Disarm the Descent is your masterpiece, buddy. The epic come back, the riffs, the melodies and harmonies, and just the vibe in general. Imo, by far, the best killswitch record to date.
I fell in love with KSE when I first heard them at the end credits of the first Resident Evil movie (End of Heartache). So it was always Howard I knew. Went back and listened to Jesse era material and wasn't fond of it. But when Disarm the Descent and Times of Grace came out, he quickly won me over.
The record companies motive was to popularize Metalcore. They make a lot of money on using new genres because people are constantly looking for something new.
this dudes facial hair is the most opposite of mine possible. he shaved the chin and moustache, but kept the sides. i cant grow the sides evenly, and dont shave my moustache or chin cause they arent very noticeable
You wanna know what's extra weird? Jesse Leach is Cancer - like I am, plus seventeen days older (in days, not years - he's 20 years old than me) than me. And Howard was born the 20th of July just like me. I can be related in so many levels to these guys and the band itself it's astonishing...
Really should do a part two on this with Adam D or Mike or someone who was there for the whole career. They ended up skipping over most of the band's career, and a good 10 years of KSE history
When you headbang so hard, part of your goatee disperses to your scalp.
Framing Armageddon 😂😂😂 lmao you deserve more likes on this
Or did he headbang so hard that the majority of his hair dispersed on his cheeks
Hahahahahahahaha! :D
HHAHAHAHA
I laughed entirely too hard at this!!
Alive or Just Breathing is one of my favorite metal albums. "No one is placed higher than another, No matter race or creed or gender, We must teach forgiveness and compassion for all life."
Vide infra is my favorite song in the entire kse library
And alive or just breathing is easily the best metal core album ever
The most in metal lyrics. But SO METAL
@Gzus Kreist Care to explain what science says about that statement?
My last serenade, the element of one, rise inside, fixation on the darkness
@Gzus Kreist post colonialism? I hope you're not insinuating some false sense of superiority. I'll grant you we're all different. Positive and negative attributes. But we're all have the equal chance to live. While I'm here, Free Palestine. Love to all who don't abuse kids.
KSE is such an all around amazing band. Doesn't matter whether or not it's Howard or Jesse, it's all awesome
It's probably my favorite metal band
Both amazing vocalists, the band has done great
probably the funniest dudes too
The first time I heard of KSE was when my last serenade came out. I instantly liked the band even when Jesse left and Howard took the helm. They're both amazing vocalist, and that band will always be my favorite. I went through a similar path just like Jesse in my teenage years, when I was anti-social, depressed and a complete mess. I love these guys so much. killswitch got me into metal.
Testament *metalcore
Edit: Its still metal
They got me into metal too! I heard my brother listening to KSE and said it was dumb.. He later made me listen to a softer song (My Curse of course.. lol) and I slowly fell in love. I hardly listen to them anymore (more into prog metal now) but I'll correct Jessie: Alive or just breathing is absolutely a masterpiece..
Same
Same for me i love the end of heartache and hate by design
Killswitch got me back into metal
In Flames, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, Dark Tranquility......... I would sell humans to see that show
Charles Lovely 2005 In Flames. Killswitch and As I lay dying was insane.
CLuv
I saw killswitch, in flames, dark tranquility, and sentenced. Incredible show. Adam wasn't being a dork and Howard was incredible
Agreed. My god what a line up.
I was there
I've seen Killswitch ONCE...only once...and Phil Labonte from ATR was on vocals because Howard was sick. EPIC SHOW!
Alive or Just Breathing it's empirically a Metalcore masterpiece.
Killswitch is honestly one of the few bands out there with two different solid frontman. Both Howard and Jesse, both fuckin master frontmen!
3:40-4:20. Don't know why but this part is down to earth, makes me smile
The dude looks like Freddy Krueger is standing behind the interviewer. So nervous lol. It’s refreshing he’s so humble

You should get Howard to do one of these.
u mean Morpheus
+satanic brony winner.
I like this so hard
@@dingdingmelonman7491 Nah. Hannibal Buress is Morpheus.
One of my top three favorite vocalists ever. Ever, ever, ever. You kick ass, Jesse!!
So glad Jessie went through what he did on AOJB album it turned out to be one of the best albums of all time! He absolutely killed it!! He seems like such a great dude!! And we’re so glad he back!!

Not sure how you gushed about KE when they weren't even a band then? I'm confused.
I messed up... I meant 06 or 07.
+Nothing KSE opened for your band in 2006 xD lets me laught you probably open for the band who open for KSE
I didn't say KSE opened for me, I said Jesse's band Seemless did. Reading is fundamental.

When I first heard the guitars kick in on "My Last Serenade" I was hooked for life, OMG that song makes me go fucking nuts!!!!
"I had to at least audition." And look where that's brought him :)
(great interviewer btw)
When did Jesse become Wolverine?
To me he looks more like sabertooth (Victor Creed)
This fills me with determination. Thanks Jesse.
agreed
He looks like a game of Tetris
Why doesn't this comment have more likes? XD
I fucking love this comment.
Incredible 😂
To be fair. Alive or just breathing remains my favourite album of killswitch engage.
i met jesse in 2001 at a show in providence RI at Lupos and he was awesome!
"I'm RICH!"
Jesse Leach - 2016
Channeling his inner Rick James.
Timothy Holland i laughed at this TOO hard
Would've been so much fun if it was Adam D...
i was gonna comment that exact thing lol
baconsayshi Speaking of which, whats up with the thumbnail picture. When the f was that taken ? xD
oh yea huh? two different beards lol
baconsayshi The thumbnail looks insane ! xD
Adam D is a tool. I love Killswitch but he constantly annoys the shit out of me.
Alive or just breathing IS a masterpiece.
In Flames Dark Tranquility and KSE? My God what a show!
Griffnig pure drugs for my ears
Jesse has such a great energy to him real candid soul it seems
Get Craig from Slipknot to do one.. Disturbed can jam that Sound of Silence track in the background.
I wanna see that!
+First Name “Nickname” Last Name Wouldn't it be crazy if they got him to talk?
alive or just breathing is amazing. I can listen to that record forever.
Still love your heart/passion, even if it was blanketed in a weird fear. We are all our own worst critics, but you inspired me, Sir!
Is this like Anselmo's "nice twin brother"?
HAHA
Holy shit!
haha thats awesome, its so true! he looks a lot like phil now!
@@oxrjbizzle1984y you are stupid and blind, he don't look like phil at all
I thought the same .....a younger Phil
KSE opened for Shadows Fall... amazing
Can you imagine opening up for Dark Tranquillity?! That'd be crazy!
hey Jesse, Alive Or Just Breathing IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!
Got to meet him last friday before a show he came into my work, such a cool and down to earth guy.
This was one of the best videos you've done Gruhamed. Keep it up brother!
Alive or just breathing is a masterpiece in my opinion
Wow they opened for InFlames. nice
For God sake just get both Howard and Jesse in KSE and take turns doing songs!
For god sake howard is sick he cant play anymore GET OVER IT!
Diabeetus
wtf he cant play Howard is the singer of Devil You Know
He can still do it, but not on the level he was required to for Killswitch. Devil You Know doesn't tour as much, so he has more time to be himself instead of a performer.
Jodoin Maxime He's not as sick as he was before his diagnosis, He's much healthier now then he was before.
I hung out with Jesse when he was on tour with trivium and protest the hero with the band seemless. Good times
Tour with Parkway will be unbelievable
I love how much Jesse has grown as a person and front man
Alive or just breathing is a master piece
As a huge fan of kse I remember when Jesse lost his vocal chords and needed surgery therefore he couldn't perform at fort rock and I was sad but im glad Jesse is better
Alive or just breathing is a masterpiece!! Jessie leach is my favorite of the two singers. No disrespect to Howard Jones love his era got me through some shit. Jessie is still my favorite though

first rule of lowdwire: when promoting loudwire, make sure you say it with as much lows & fry as you can
Coheed and Cambria would be cool as well
+D3V1STATE Gaming ES
I love killswitch engage and jessie lech
Nice shirt Gruhamed! That's my favourite EP of all time.
Last serinade still one of favourite tunes. After hearing it I decided there and then I was getting a guitar and amp and did.
i like how jesse's mahawk had a nice contrast between a new's man and a punk
Holy shit he looks so uncomfortable the entire time.
He has bad social anxiety.
Jesse's eyebrow at 9:31 lol.
Devidriver would be really good. Bring it on!!!
Fear Factory maybe?
System Of A Down PLEASE!!
Tankian or Malakian?

I'm seeing these guys in the summer, just started hearing there songs :O
Robb Flynn
Lars Ulrich
Dave Grohl
Serj Tankian
Invite Winston from PWD please...
Haven't really listened to Killswitch but Jesse seems like a pretty cool guy
You should try them
Great interview man!
Jesse looking like Liev Schreiber's Sabertooth and those fangs man.
Dude I'm 31 and alive or just breathing is still and always has been my ONE stranded on an island record since seventh grade!!! Masterpiece achived😎
Please get Howard Jones from Devil You Know
Jesse would be so cool to hang out with.
Gotta disagree, jesse. Disarm the Descent is your masterpiece, buddy. The epic come back, the riffs, the melodies and harmonies, and just the vibe in general. Imo, by far, the best killswitch record to date.

Glamour of the Kill and Black Tide would be awesome as well
i would call it a masterpiece
This guy looks so young and is very awkward in a charming way.
My names Von and it freaked me out when he looked at me and asked me a question.
Doing this with Iced Earth could be fun
^^^ yess
Super Jon!
AOJB is still one of my favourite albums. The new stuff is okay too.
He looks older in the music videos before this video.
love the interviewer
i do love jesse leach. but i miss howard jones. wish they could do an album with killswitch together. jesse on scream and howard on melody.
David Denness I actually love the new albums of KSE
@@znothingfacez5681 Same. Jesse sounds better than ever
They did it
@TheTimbalanders he had surgery for blowing out his vocal chords?
Not an album, but we did get a song with them together 🔥
Can’t wait
What happened to Fact or Fiction? Haven’t had an episode in forever it seems like
When did wolverine's brother join killswitch engage
The record companies motive was to popularize Metalcore. They make a lot of money on using new genres because people are constantly looking for something new.

I feel like I'd get along with Jesse
HOW DO YOU NOT SIGN WITH ROAD RUNNER!!!
6:23 I've seen that movie
Jesse is my doppelganger. It's extra weird because my name is also Jesse.
You wanna know what's extra weird? Jesse Leach is Cancer - like I am, plus seventeen days older (in days, not years - he's 20 years old than me) than me. And Howard was born the 20th of July just like me. I can be related in so many levels to these guys and the band itself it's astonishing...
is the Von he was talking to the dude who managed As I Lay Dying? Might be a stupid question
Coheed And Cambria would be rad! It would be really entertaining
"Im not rich" He is now but he deserves it
I would love to see Brian Fair do some Fact or Fiction
Usually people they interview have an air of ego about them, but Jesse seems like a remarkably cool guy.
+5carecrow94 It's kind of hard not to have an ego when people are telling you that you're important enough to interview.
Justin Bennett I definitely understand that. Even so, I wouldn't say that's an adequate excuse to act like an asshat.
Guys should do Richard Christy that would be fun.
love howard, and BHBS, but Jesse is KSE. Glad he's back
Really should do a part two on this with Adam D or Mike or someone who was there for the whole career. They ended up skipping over most of the band's career, and a good 10 years of KSE history

Is he wearing a WSS shirt?
Killswitch is my favorite xfiles episode. And I never knew til now that my favorite band was named after it
