i am a 40 year old man who lost his wife in child birth to our only daughter who thankfully lived. It will be six years in January. the worst part of grief is the numbness you feel so you can go on functioning but you miss having emotions. I cannot express enough the release and poignancy to me personally when the bridge hits. being able to cry occasionally after going through what i’ve gone through is better than sex. better than getting drunk. better than getting angry. in fact i haven’t watched this song and not cried at that part. So puddles and your buddy Mike: thanks for letting me sleep tonight. i needed it
I know human experiences cant be compared even if they are very similar, its so unique not matter the similarities. I lost my only child a few hours after birth but i understand that in our own worlds its a feeling that only we can know ourselves. Thank you for coming out to share a tiny piece of your story, I truly hope you can find peace through the rest of your life, I hope your daughter is well and will as well. My very best wishes fellow human..
I love how when Gee sings it, it sounds kind of angry and forceful and when Puddles sings it, it's more calm and sad It's really cool that just changing the voice and the instruments can make a song sound so different
PANIC !! At The Everywhere Puddles has that amazing ability to make you actually "listen" to a song for the first time even though you've "heard" it a million times before. A lot of people said they had no idea that Sia's "Chandelier" was about suicide until they heard his version with Postmodern Jukebox/his AGT audition. I'm one of those people.
The song is actually about the death of the Way brothers' grandmother Elena and their grief surrounding her loss. The name was changed to Helena in reference to the character from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a play that heavily features sleep as a theme. Among other things, the play compares sleep to death and respite from the world.
I've decided that this rendition by puddles will be playing at my funeral. I dont care if it's years or decades from now. This will forever be my favorite cover of this amazing song. Thank you, Puddles, for this beautiful cover.
There's a certain satisfactory depth to it. I don't disagree. I'd also not be displeased of the few that I confess love for get drunk or high for a bit and shed a tear or two to such a tune, and hopefully keep me in mind, as I do for others gone before.

Wow you really tried harder :D good dog! Hey listen, if you are using your brain, you wont be replying to this anymore. And if you do, then you just admitted that your just a dog. :))) bye troll
"We'll meet again when both our cars collide" "So long and goodnight... mama" This just stings me the most. I lost my mom, one of the most beautiful person to ever exist, 9 months ago and until now everything feels so unreal and temporary. Thanks for this cover, Puddles. Means so much ❤💔
So good. I was just belting this out in my car while parked and when I got out a woman had been standing there waiting for me to get out to compliment me on my singing and ask what I was singing and I got the chance to share puddles with a stranger. What a good day so far.
Nah Scooby. If the lady liked the cover, direct her to the cover. The original is good too, but it's also completely different in style. Better to warm people up to a song through a cover in a style they like, and use that as a gateway. Then they can go check out the original and perhaps other songs by the original artist. There's a ludicrously long list of songs that I like only because I fell in love with covers of those songs before I heard the original. If I had heard the original first I wouldn't have cared nearly as much for them or the covers - they would have been spoiled by the first impression.
If you read this comment Puddles, I just want to say that I can't go back to the original tune because of this cover but I really love and appreciate this cover. Been watching this for thousands of times ever since this has been uploaded 🔥
Beautiful. My #3 daughter had a hard time with depression and self harming in high school, and she listened to a lot of MCR. I listened with her and she came out of the darkest times. We still deal with depression, and Puddles helps us cope.
Oh dear, you can get beyond this. I have battled depression, self harming and suicidal thoughts and plans my entire life but I'm still here (I'm 57). I always have an ear if you want to talk, send me a pm here, I am here for you. Take good care of yourself, you deserve it!
I can't stop watching this, your voice is so powerful and you deserve so much more than you get. THIS is real talent. I'm from Brazil and I get really sad 'cause, you see, I have no idea when I will be able to see you in person. But it's ok, listening to you REALLY makes my days better. Thank you, you're incredible.
Lyric writers must love Puddles. Even though his vocals are beyond amazing he never neglects the lyrics. His phrasing, emoting and facial expressions give depth, clarity and meaning to what ever he sings. Puddles some times makes a song sound much better than it is standing on it's own. Just another aspect of his talent. I loved this cover and I would have never have heard this song if it were not for Puddles.
This song was beautiful, then you took it and reshaped it.. now it's terrifying melancholy is unleashed and it is divinely breathtaking. It makes so much more sense now... Thank you. You are incredible, puddles.
Oh my dear puddles, pass the tissue PLEASE! You bring me to tears then end by bringing me to laughter. Thanks for sharing your connection with the audience it was priceless. {{hug}} Go Puddles GO!
OH MY GOSH!!!!!! YOU DID A COVER OF THIS!! I had never heard of this song or MCR before I saw you do this on EMO LA. The way you sang it...so beautiful & mysterious! I was hooked on it immediately!! Thank you for broadening my musical horizons!!
Don't feel bad queanhle3queanhl3e, neither did I until he did this song & "Where Is My Mind"! MCR & The Pixies aren't my music & I'd never heard of them or "EMO" before Puddles! LOL
Tammy, I had the "pleasure" of having insomnia the night he performed this at EMO Nite and was lucky to catch it on Facebook live. I had never heard this song before that night. I still haven't heard the original but I love Puddles' version.
Ronda...I was up late that night too & just happened to catch the FB Live video as he walked out onto the stage! It was so great...felt like I was there myself! When he sang this song, I was so mesmerized by it & loved how eerie & haunting it sounded. I asked the other people who were watching what that song was & someone told me. I looked up the original song by MCR here on TH-cam & was quite shocked! LOL. They're definitely not my cup of tea, but I'm glad Puddles covered it. It's nice to have my horizons broadened :)
Verse 1] Long ago Just like the hearse you die to get in again We are so far from you Burning on Just like the match you strike to incinerate The lives of everyone you know And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you stain Well I've been holding on tonight [Chorus] What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long not goodnight [Verse 2] Came a time When every star fall Brought you to tears again We are the very hurt you sold And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you stain Well I've been holding on tonight [Chorus] What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long not goodnight And if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long not goodnight [Bridge] Can you hear me? Are you near me? Can we pretend to leave and then We'll meet again When both our cars collide [Chorus] What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long not goodnight And if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight
I listened to this one just before bedtime. It filled me with such a feeling that I needed to hear it again immediately in the morning. It kinda touches your being. Thanks Puddles. When someone can throttle their voice perfectly they can pour such emotion into the lyrics and it’s as if the voice and the music resonate and then your soul resonates right along.
Wtf did I just watch.... As a cover snob and probably the biggest MCR fan in my area.... This was absolutely beautiful.... I'm literally speechless... How do you make something sound so like the original but also absolutely your own at the same time???? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I've watched your performance from Emo Nite of Helena many times and even looked up the lyrics. I'm blown away by your version and writing this through a puddle of tears. As someone else said it is hauntingly beautiful. We love you Puddles. Keep on doing what you do.
I've been listening to this song since August 2020 when I first discovered you. It's one of my favorites of all your songs. I watched the videos from the club that night where you sang this and "Where is My Mind". It was a packed house, right up to the stage. What I loved was all the young people there giving you their undivided attention and adoration. They were hanging on to every word you sang and singing along, because, of course, they knew all the words. Your older audiences are more reserved, but these guys weren't hesitant to show you their love and appreciation throughout your performance. I was so pleased you got to experience that.
I have had a really hard few months i had a very good friend pass in a car crash a few weeks ago also a family member pass :( and premmie baby boy and my dog i have had since i was a teen passed and your music had helped me cry it out and you make it ok to cry so many feels you are truly a amazing singer. this songs really hits home you did it so well keep doing what you are doing because it is art you make it ok to feel :')
This is my first time hearing of Puddles and I already I feel like he understands me somehow. The things that make me hurt and the things that make me feel sad... wow so impactful!
I had a big fear of clowns for years and now I don't because of you I love your voice you should have won AGT you're so original and phenomenal I love everything about you.
Strange to find the song you loved dearly for years again like this. It's great. The crowd appears to be very pleased as well, especially that dude with his red phone.
Your rendition of this song brought me to tears. Your intention and careful plucking of the lyrics were so beautiful. Like the strings on a forgotten guitar.
I’ve had some very rough things happen recently... and this is the only things that’s made me feel better. Puddles, thank you so much for making something so deeply emotion evoking and touching. This means so much to me. This song has gotten me through so much. Thank you. So beautiful.

Outstanding; the sheer emotion in this song is gut wrenching. Out of all the versions of this song, I think yours truly shows the pain the songwriters wished to convey they made the song.

when mcr's version is not emo enough
mehhh lame reply. try harder.
Wow you really tried harder :D good dog! Hey listen, if you are using your brain, you wont be replying to this anymore.
And if you do, then you just admitted that your just a dog. :))) bye troll
@@emanjimenez5381 dumb* you're a burritoboi so I'll let it slide.

Sing "the ghost of you" please by MCR

OH YES
Man.. If Puddles can make Helena this emotional.. Ghost of you will be epic..
If he cover ghost of me, he will be making the world emotional on a whole new level
OH MAH LORD YES
"We'll meet again when both our cars collide"
"So long and goodnight... mama"
This just stings me the most. I lost my mom, one of the most beautiful person to ever exist, 9 months ago and until now everything feels so unreal and temporary. Thanks for this cover, Puddles. Means so much ❤💔
This song couldnt be more emo
Puddles: hold my briefcase
Bro...
I'm dying 😂😂😂
Fantastic!!
Genius!!
I don’t see how this is emo..
So good. I was just belting this out in my car while parked and when I got out a woman had been standing there waiting for me to get out to compliment me on my singing and ask what I was singing and I got the chance to share puddles with a stranger. What a good day so far.
Ryan Young you should have said Helena by my chemical romance but whatever
R/thathappened
I don't know what I was expecting when I clicked on this... but I'm really glad I did.
Lol me too...
Yeah me too
Same
Lmao yes exactly
Same!
We still deal with depression, and Puddles helps us cope.
this made me tear up bc I'm just like your daughter, but I can't get out of it. She's lucky to have a mom like you :)
I'm trying to get to Brazil!
Puddles Pity Party You can't say something like that to me OH MY GOD are you trying to kill me?!?!? We'll wait for you!!!!!!!
I just found out you played in Vermont last night and I missed you! :'(
Your voice and this melody are a match made in heaven. I can't stop listening. You rule, Puddles.
I can count on one hand the musical artists with a voice that has brought me to tears. PuddlesPP is one of them.
I was a jaded professional musician and depressed most of the time. Then I discovered Puddles, he was my cure. Thank you Puddles.
Puddles, that was the worst mistake that certain television show ever made. I love your persona, and love your music.
He always add so much emotion to any song he sings and I think that makes it so much more special
Clowns are such beautiful conduits of emotion. So pure and clean.

Holy shit..just now finding this!!! Frkn awesome!!!!
I remember seeing puddles on America's Got Talent after that I instantly became a fan I love the way he did this song both beautiful and awesome
My chemical romance is my favorite band and I usually don't like covers of there songs but this is a really nice twist
lgbt_killjoy_emo_thing /name: isaac/ yea is exactly i think
You're an emo right? you ever listened to HIM ?
Can we talk about the head nod at 3:25? "Oh, God I hope" is what i got out of it. This gesture amplifies and already exceptional piece.
I agree Tammy...I wasn't exactly sure what emo was at first, lol.
Tammy Gregory He ROCKS! 😃
I don't love you by My Chemical Romance will make me cry for hours and will be awesomely beautiful
Jorge D'arce 666 exactly!

Verse 1]
Long ago
Just like the hearse you die to get in again
We are so far from you
Burning on
Just like the match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well I've been holding on tonight
[Chorus]
What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight
[Verse 2]
Came a time
When every star fall
Brought you to tears again
We are the very hurt you sold
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well I've been holding on tonight
[Chorus]
What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight
And if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight
[Bridge]
Can you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend to leave and then
We'll meet again
When both our cars collide
[Chorus]
What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight
And if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight

Wow, thanks.
MCR Fans really needed lyrics for this....
yeet
I listened to this one just before bedtime. It filled me with such a feeling that I needed to hear it again immediately in the morning. It kinda touches your being. Thanks Puddles. When someone can throttle their voice perfectly they can pour such emotion into the lyrics and it’s as if the voice and the music resonate and then your soul resonates right along.
Greatness shining through on this day.
Things truly are better if you stay.
Thank you for the little waves you give. I feel like they're just for me and I always wave back.
Sorry, I think they are for me. ;)
He's waving at me too and I wave back. I'm so glad he found me.
It chapter 2 trailer is looking pretty good
Pennywise looking for new job :)
Wtf dude HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
Its Pennywise's emo younger brother
Dude, I was trying to be depressed not laugh out of funny comments xD
HAHAHAHAHA
Wtf did I just watch.... As a cover snob and probably the biggest MCR fan in my area.... This was absolutely beautiful.... I'm literally speechless... How do you make something sound so like the original but also absolutely your own at the same time???? 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Puddles is a genius like that.
It’s a Puddles thing!
Emo clown. Strange combination, but I'm into it.
The concept of a sad clown has been around about as long as clowns have been around.
Joker is a sad clown
@@IsielBryan he's more maniacal. But yes.
What I meant was a clown singing emo a pop punk.
@@liam1558 yeah, a clown singing an emo song is quite strange.
I've watched your performance from Emo Nite of Helena many times and even looked up the lyrics. I'm blown away by your version and writing this through a puddle of tears. As someone else said it is hauntingly beautiful. We love you Puddles. Keep on doing what you do.
My first time hearing this song and I just get so blown away with the passion of his singing and talent. Just wow
Really love this one! Great interpretation and emotion, emo guy!
Love the breakaways too!
I wish Gerard and the rest of MCR would hear this
Tsun Tsun I'm sure they've had it sent to them
Tsun Tsun Yes!!!!!
i wish gerard and the team will back again 😔
Rusty Virata one could only hope

I have had a really hard few months i had a very good friend pass in a car crash a few weeks ago also a family member pass :( and premmie baby boy and my dog i have had since i was a teen passed and your music had helped me cry it out and you make it ok to cry so many feels you are truly a amazing singer. this songs really hits home you did it so well keep doing what you are doing because it is art you make it ok to feel :')
His voice is absolutely beautiful...the melancholy and pathos with the power and tonality. Gorgeous cover 🖤
@Puddles Pity Party. Whoever shoots & edits ur videos is really amazing!
This is my first time hearing of Puddles and I already I feel like he understands me somehow. The things that make me hurt and the things that make me feel sad... wow so impactful!
Great song well done good singer
I could listen to it all day
Never thought a clown could pull off this beautiful rendition
Brian Rosado it would make your head spin, how often I heard that.
My absolute favorite cover of his
I had a big fear of clowns for years and now I don't because of you I love your voice you should have won AGT you're so original and phenomenal I love everything about you.
This was wonderful! I love this song and you pretty much reinvented it.

That wad kinda good too
That was a great movie
It's for the best.
Outstanding; the sheer emotion in this song is gut wrenching. Out of all the versions of this song, I think yours truly shows the pain the songwriters wished to convey they made the song.
MCR and puddles are just a perfect pairing especially when you need a good cry
This is a very good cry.
I never thought the most beautiful version of this song I'd ever hear would be sung by a sad clown with a gold crowd lol you rock Puddles!
King of the sad clowns
homie in the front row holding the phone was having a sadgasm singing along with Puddles

Sadgasm! Man that's a bit of strong word!😂
