Was walking downtown L.A. and found the soundtrack at this wholesale place in little Tokyo as it rained i stopped and smoked the finest herb and stood there alone high as a bird, Cheers from 2019.
Definitly one of the best animes ive ever seen, has a cold distant complex and mysterious feeling all at once. Keeps you at arms length from the characters true feelings and a nice mix of WHAT THE FU@$. Tie this all together with a touch of sadness and despair and you have SEL. Changed my life for the better and i trip out when i watch the episodes and see parts of my life in lains eyes.
Escucho este remix desde que lo subieron... llevaba casi un año sin escucharlo y de pronto se me han venido tantos recuerdos, qué increíble serie, qué buena canción, las compañías de esos tiempos, qué genial este trabajo!!!!!!!
finally after 6 years of looking all over 4 this song i found it!!!!!!! i looove this remix !!!brings back good memories thank u so much 4 putting this song here!!!!
I really dig this remix, I'm glad about that too 'cause this is one of my favorite songs of all time. From another time when I watched a show that would forever change the direction of my life. Whether for better or worse I've yet to figure out, but regardless I wouldn't be me without seeing it.
It's really just a subjective matter. Serial Experiments Lain is my top favorite anime. It's actually what got me into anime. Very mature, surreal, multifaceted, and creative. I'd even go out of my way and say that it's...artistic. It's okay not to like it, but I have to say that it's a fresh departure from mainstream anime.
@RPGmastar had the same problem as you, but went to wikipedia and read about it there ( under notes and references pick 11 and read last 2 pages that should give you an idea ) was actually pretty amazing how deeply thought off this anime was ;)
All the crap we deal with these days, about losing your identity between the real world and the computer world, about isolation and depression? We deal with how the internet has essentially dominated our lives today. This series dealt with those problems back in 1998.
i recently bought the cyberia mix cd off amazon but this song wasnt on here please if you could email it to me id really apprraciate it ..this song is just to amazing great upload =D
you should have given it a chance, the whole point is the story unravels and is explained over the course of the series. it isn't hard to grasp, just watch it
damn, this is a good remix of one of the best anime OST. does anyone know what song / band with this kind of ambient music? needed for relaxation purpose :)
@RPGmastar I was 8-9, and it made little sense, but still some. Now I'm 14, and it makes complete sense. I guess if you just give it some time, it works.
I was also not fond of this remix initially. But it's grown on me. It's no replacement (or equal) to the original by any means. But it's a fun twist to it.
I watched it when I was 11, and didn't get the story, but remembered liking the anime, or something. So I watched it again recently, and understood it, and I have various reasons for liking. First off, the animation... It was ran in 1998... Gungrave was ran in 2003, Black Lagoon was ran in 2006. So the difference in animation should be expected... I don't like it for deepshit, I found the story very interesting and creative. It was a really good break from the usual romance, action, etc. themes.
lovely my friend , post a link for us to download full support from dj / producer / remixer : kavanah PS: if you like you might want to re arrange the vocals, but its nice as it is, keep it up!
If you want to get philosophical, I think that "This sucks" is a valid statement to make, since the speaker will never have another mind, and so to the speaker their world view or opinion is in fact, a concrete fact. SAY WHAAA?
it dosn't make sense because you see everything as lain dose and it won't make sense to her till the end. understanding the anime can also add another layer of appreceation for the soundtrack so i recomend trying to finish it
SEL requires some commitment if you want to understand it. Some people watch anime for "action" entertainement and don't want to spend their time thinking about philosophical implications. So no, it's not simple minded people, it's people who watch anime for another reason than you. But maybe these people study history, technology, philosophy or whatever at school, just not in anime. But yeah, they souldn't say "this sucks" they should say "it's not for me".
God knows if anyone reads these comments, but you can find this show online, and if you want to buy it (like I just did) you can find new and used copies on Ebay. This and Ergo Proxy have been my new favourites this summer. "Fuck your shit, I'm in a bear suit."
I need to go back and watch the series, because it threw me completely off of it with its ideas and execution, and its most assuredly worth a second viewing, if only to try to make sense of it. A similar example would be NGE, I had no fucking idea what the hell I was watching, watched it again and suddenly it all made sense, and I loved it all the more for it.
And for the others animes you mention, Metropolis is totally dull and overrated, Akira is an excellent piece of Cyberpunk Ultra-Violence flick the first part of the film but then becomes a little pretentious and makes you feel like the first amazing part doesnt fit with the second one, then we have Cowboy Bebop that is awesome im not going to argue on that, and finally Perfect Blue is an intelligent film unlike that fuckin Paprika nonsense crap, but well is all up to tastes.

rare moment of the remix capturing the feeling of the original yet without being totally different or minimizing the quality of the original
The feels :) and the nostalgia. Have been listening to this version of the song for as long as I can remember.
I love this song and the anime ^-^ thanks for put up the remix up nice beats :)
Commenting on an 11-year-old video.
Gotta love Lain.

It's really just a subjective matter.

This series dealt with those problems back in 1998.

does anyone know what song / band with this kind of ambient music? needed for relaxation purpose :)
Aji Kurniadhi check out the soundtrack to A Scanner Darkly if you like this
If you need this type of music, look up "trip hop" music
portishead, bowery electric, massive attack. like the other guy said, trip hop
@Fatman311 what!? i totally missed that on my way through, but then again I didn't realise which character was made from artifical ribosomes?
@RPGmastar Its really something that you need to concentrate on
This song is amazing... I think the remix is better than the original. The melody matches the style well in my opinion
@RPGmastar I was 8-9, and it made little sense, but still some. Now I'm 14, and it makes complete sense. I guess if you just give it some time, it works.
you're 21 years old now. so am i. how are you liking it?
Mee too!! :-)
Hey! That's Pretty Good
Jealous of your childhood.
@Daijaskillern You should try watching the show again now that you're older
I was also not fond of this remix initially. But it's grown on me. It's no replacement (or equal) to the original by any means. But it's a fun twist to it.

This song makes scene in the anime? I mean, the remix of the original song?
it dosn't make sense because you see everything as lain dose and it won't make sense to her till the end. understanding the anime can also add another layer of appreceation for the soundtrack so i recomend trying to finish it
