Are you kidding me, handling on CRV 2009 is really bad a specially on motorway, younger generation much better. Yes the car is very reliable as I had CRV 2008 with 158k miles and no problems at all (2.0 Petrol). Overall yes very good car and still looking good.
Just wishing they added the Pano roof. It’s available everywhere else even Canada. As one of the most popular brands here in the US I don’t get why Honda holds back on features, even worse in the SI and I say this as a Honda owner. Excellent redesign nonetheless.
and they ruined the taillights! the front looks way better but they made the rear look too goofy! the previous year was better from the back! :( just like how they ruined the new civics tail end lol
I feel like Honda didn't do enough to justify the price premium of its top trims. For example, why didn't Honda put a full digital gauge cluster in the top trim CR-V when my $30k Civic touring gets that feature? The lack of ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a pano roof are also odd omissions for a car that will likely cost $40k
It’s because Acura for some reason still exists in the US. Easily the worst luxury brand to exist and Honda keeps dumping money into it rather than just consolidating them into Honda, the CR-V in every other market where Acura doesn’t exist is a lot nicer, but to try to help Acura’s terrible sales performance in the US, they limit how nicely you can option a Honda to force you to jump up to the RDX.
I used to be a proud Honda Civic owner. But I switch to other brand 5 years ago. The problem with Honda is there just no excitement of the new generation. If you look at it, why should I pay new car price when a 5 years old model can provide the same options? Honda quality is not that good anyway, my civic broken down couple times during my 9 years ownership.
I agree 100%. The only two models I like the styling of for the new generation are the Civic and the CR-V. However, I'm getting really bored with Honda. I'm switching over to Hyundai in the near future as my next car brand to lease.
I also have a 2008 CR-V, it's held up surprisingly well after 250,000kms (155,000 mi) although its starting to show its age. Mine did come with power lumbar support but that broke years ago lol I was leaning towards CX-5 as a potential replacement, especially after hearing the issues the CR-V was having in cold climates having a hard time heating up which is a big no-no. Hoping they fixed that issue for this new one because I really like the looks of this 2023 model year.
I usually have to wade through the details of all of the trims to find adjustable lumbar support or rear vents or reclining rear seats, if offered at all. Honda made them standard on everything? Well done Honda! I also appreciate that the Sport trims have more horsepower than the 180 in upper level Civics, and should get much better fuel economy too. I wanted a hatchback, but it's hard to pass up the features in this.
The EX design is better than the Sport Touring. I don't like the chrome pieces on the front of the sport touring. Wish you could get that design with the hybrid.
Interesting how Honda has decided to use the Sport trim as their higher end trims. In the past, at least on the Civic, the Sport trim is usually one of their lower end trims. That said, I like the look. It's much better than the HRV.
Is the new advanced safety system considered Honda Sensing 360 or just a slight upgrade to existing Honda system? Is there a 360-degree surround view for parking?
Will there be a plug-in hybrid? I really don't like the looks of the RAV4 Prime. In addition, I've seen dealers around here asking as high as $72k for a $45k MSRP RAV4 Prime.
So did Honda drop the rear seat release levers that are in the hatch area? It appears that there are just molded courtesy hooks by the rear hatch lights.
I am still having a 2nd gen bought new. This new base trim model is now the right one for me to upgrade. In my opinion, it is better looking with the smooth rear bumpers, no gawky looking exhaust trims, also nice smooth front bumper aprons with a sense of width. Please Honda, get rid of the chrome exhaust like apertures in the front in the top line model. It makes the front look narrow. For the base model, all looks perfect.
Moving the installation point for the side mirrors from the A pillar triangle to the doors is a big deal since it really aids in visibility by making the A pillar slimmer. I know other brands had it this way for years but glad to see Honda following suit.
Do yourself a favor and watch until the very end! 🤣 Thank you for that Micah. I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight without knowing whether a head would fit or not.
“Base” is an EX. So, it’s not that amazing that it has rear air vents and front seat lumbar support. It would have been better if they had a true base model like an LX without the moonroof. If you want the extras, you would still be able to upgrade to the EX.
I’m guessing LX trim hasn’t been selling well, as they’ve pared down the trim packages on Passport and Pilot, to only focus on the higher end trim packages.
The way I understand; this mean the AWD will not engage at low speeds. Eg. in the rain or snow - while in the driveway; parking lots; unplowed streets; turning at intersections. Please correct me if I have misunderstood this. If my understanding is correct; then I don’t like the awd system at all; as it doesn’t cover the most basic; common and important use cases for awd.
Did Honda Fix the Oil Dilution Problem for 2022 Models? Despite various claims of software updates resolving oil dilution issues, the problem has not been resolved with the MY2018-2021 Accords, 2019-2021 CR-V's, or 2019-2021 Civics with the 1.5L turbo engine. Mar 25, 2022
So seeing that the EX is the base trim and there was a moon roof on the model shown, does that mean the moon roof is standard equipment? A panoramic roof option would have been nice to offer
with this being one of the top sellers for Honda, they should of put more into it.. because of the highly competitive market. not just relying on reputation to sell the vehicle. That 9 inch screen could of been at least a 10 inch and the tachometer should of been all digital at least in the Sport Touring trim (like it is in the Civic Touring). Heads-up display should of been mandatory for all trims and a panoramic roof for the Sport Touring trim. It’s insane to go into another generation of the SUV in this era where you’ll be spending 4-5 years in production, and release this with those missing features. Not everyone wants an Acura RDX or can afford it. Don’t get me wrong, the exterior is a huge upgrade from the last gen. The interior as well. I’m a Honda owner….. ‘00 and ‘18 CR-V and 08 Pilot. I love the look of the 2023 CR-V. But, two things That turn me away from the new CR-V. They got rid of the led signal lights. Also, no PHEV option. Also, for the other car dealers WHO DO sell BEV and PHEV vehicles, for those of us who want to make the next step up, please make them available to more than a few select states.
