    Result is awesome. But, why you use 2 guns during powder coat? Tribostatic for chrome and electrostatic for color? Thanks for answer

    Wow, that was an anticlimactic ending. Can you show how you stripped the powder and what steps you did next so we could learn from your mistakes. Also, kudos to you for showing mistakes. Most videos are not based in reality because they don’t show the trials and tribulations of making mistakes, learning from them and sharing with others.

    I'm having the same problem. I'm shooting flat steel signs and I've redone these freaking things 3 times. I cant let them go out like this. 1 is pretty good and 1 has an area that just didn't accept the purple very well. I redusted and it still looks light. The chrome looked killer so I don't know what is going on. I'm new to powder coating but I've done candy blue several times and it looks good. Glad Im not the only one having difficulties. Do you do a full cure on the chrome? Keep the videos coming very useful.

      Yup always do full cure on chrome.

      There is the correct powder for every job. With my experience. I would never use chrome base and a transparent clear on challenging parts like Harley 13 spoke mags. I’m positive these wheels under inspection aren’t even in color. Using illusion purple would have been a better choice. I know I know “that’s not what the customer wants”. But customers don’t understand how things work. My point is that maybe you should use a different color that will work better easier and turn out a better finished product.

      @@RightNowPowderCoating You full cure the chrome (is this applicable in all chrome applications that are used as a base?)....then do let the part cool completely and then lay the next layer?

    when it come out of the oven and you see the dark area do you have to media blast again or can you just use degreaser and then powder?

    • @RightNowPowderCoating
      @RightNowPowderCoating  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you add more powder it will just get darker, some areas will be darker no mater how good you are.

    The average person doesn’t know the amount of time invested in the prep work. Everyone in my area wants it done cheap. 👎

      I hear that, I have way more time in these than I want to admit, but my equipment is part of the reason, the settings are not that easy to use and the dials are a bit lacking. Its very hard to get the right air pressure, dosing and ect. But funds are limited.

      Its a pressure pot from Greg Smith Equipment, its not the cheapest, but also far from the best. I upgraded the dust collector, the nozzle, and blasting hose and it does everything I ask of it. We also only use glass now and just replace once its really bad, probably like every 2 months, way cheaper than the crap plastic protectors. I will be doing a review video on it soon so keep your eyes peeled!

      The Candies are tough especially on all those spokes. Im totally impressed you did that well with an Eastwood gun. Hell even the Gema, has issues. I actually think it’s easier to use an illusion or dormant powder vs. candy. They look awesome when they come out, but man I have lost money shooting Candies. Great vid! Again, as one of the other guys mentioned, this stuff is NOT easy. It takes so much time to prep properly and it’s never over till it’s over. “Powder Monster” lurks at every stage, especially on final bake!!!😂😂😂😂😂

      @OG_Eid 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      JR Ultimate 3D Hunt LLC I completely agree with you. Candies over chrome are not worth the headache. Illusions or dormant colors should have been a better choice for these wheels.

      Definitely did have too much powder, it seems like every time I switch I have way too little or way to much. I am working on adjusting it every time. Thanks for the view!

    Why not outgas before blasting? Then you don’t have to re mask and blast twice?

    • @RightNowPowderCoating
      @RightNowPowderCoating  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually have done both ways, we currently do blast now after outgassing. But to be honest we really only dry the wheels for about 30mins unless there really old.
