  • If you smoke salt in a humid climate or if your salt seems to be a little moist after the 12 hrs. , just pop it in the oven at its lowest setting for an hour.
    Smoked Salt is a simple process. Just a little time consuming. Cold Smoked Salt can be used in many ways. A good smoked salt finishing rub is my favorite. Smoking a coarse ground Kosher salt can be used in rubs and used for seasoning meats before cooking to add a hint of smoke to impress your friends if you don't have a grill. Try my method and see how you like it.

      I could.. But why take the easy way out and have a crappy product. That would be like you buying a pack of pork chops, a bottle of liquid smoke and an air fryer and calling yourself a pitmaster. But hey, you do you.. Appreciate you stopping by.

      I agree. I've paid way too much for steaks at well renowned places just to leave a little heart broken and just flat broke. I've maybe ate one steak out in the wild in the last couple years and that was at Kayne Prime in Nashville. Now that was worth the hype.

    • @MojoBarbeque
      @MojoBarbeque  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not spritz the cheese. I let it sit out for a little bit to come up to room temp. That way a little bit of the oil surfaced for a smoke binder.

    Doing this right now and went with the Bear Mountain Chophouse Blend pellets since I’ll be primarily be using for steaks with granulated garlic and pepper to replace the McCormick Montreal steak seasoning. Spritzing with Worcestershire sauce instead of JD. Also, I’m using a small offset cupcake spatula to move the salt around after each hour and can press the salt down to break up the clumps.
    And put out some more content and put some more hats back up on your site 🤣

    • @MojoBarbeque
      @MojoBarbeque  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      And thank you for watching. You could always use water. Honestly, you don't have to use a liquid but it does help to get the smoke to stick a little better. Wine could be an option. I don't drink but I do like the subtle whiskey flavor. You could also dilute some Sriracha or worcestershire in water to add a different distinct flavor. I have used vinegar powder in my rubs so vinegar might be an option. You've got me thinking. I may to experiment myself.
