I love you, Coach Grant. I’ve been a fan of the Minnesota Vikings since they began in 1961 even my birthstone is purple the same year and month that the Vikings were formed that’s when I was born to be a Minnesota Vikings fan for life. Thank you Coach Grant for all the hard work that you did to bring the VIKINGS to four Super Bowls..💜💜💜💜🇺🇸✝️☮️⭐️💜💛🙏😇

My parents lived next door to Bud Grant and his wife Pat when Grant played and then coached the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. My dad told me that Bud was very gracious and didn't like to talk about football much when he was home with his family and friends. He loved to fish and hunt and spent much of his free time doing that. He had actually been offered the Vikings head coaching job when the team first started playing in 1961 but felt a loyalty to the Blue Bomber organization so stayed in Winnipeg. In 1967 when the Vikings fired Norm Van Broklin he then accepted the job (which was smart as the Vikings were slowly building a great defense through the draft). Outside Investors Group Field in Winnipeg, there is a statue of Mr. Grant and he was there when they dedicated it.

I am a Lions fan and I don't know much about the Minnesota Vikings organization, except that they constantly beat the Lions, but how about naming the Minnesota Vikings MVP the Bud Grant Award?

"If you can't play for Bud Grant then you can't play at all."

I didn't realize that he passed. If there were a Mount Rushmore for 70's football coaches it would be Bud Grant, Chuck Noll, Don Shula and Tom Landry.
Those guys made the NFL what it is today. RIP Bud

You know I was 8 years old in 72 and a big time giant fan but at the same time I loved the Vikings. I loved foreman, page, marshall, Krause, tarkenton. An era of football that can never be replaced. Bud grant to me will always be the face of the Vikings franchise.

Marinaro was small, but now he's tiny.

He really does look small. Chuck still looks like he's at his playing weight. Great guys, and what a backfield
