I found this year I finally got to 80. I shot 90 approx for as long as I can remember. I found 80 easy once my bad/good drives were were constantly over 220. A good drive could be 240 plus carry. What this gave me: * 2 shots to par 4s. Hitting greens with gw-9iron * swing fixes with driver gave me longer iron shots overall. Past problems: * bad drives were 180yds. This does not work well to break 90 on par 4s. * long irons like 5 not enough speed to make it a valuable tool What gave me 80: * dr kwon my swing * speed sticks * putting practice - 2 putting * spent more time practicing chipping and putting. * practice 109 yds and in. I found when you are chasing 200 yard driver shots and wondering why? You don't spend time on your short game. You become obsessed with the driver. Honestly speed sticks and monitoring speed gains changes every thing. You learn to naturally swing the club around you. You don't worry about positions anymore. Look at swing cataylst info, lag shot, orange whip, biomechanics. Don't waste your energy hitting buckets on drivers on the range wondering why you are not getting 300yard drives. You get 300 yard drives by learning how to swing fast with speed sticks and understanding ground forces in your swing .
I went to the driving range a bit when i was younger just before covid and my best ever drive was about 150 yards just got back and ive been to the gym while i was out and a grew about 4-5 inches in height and while trying to hit the ball fairly gentle i am now able to hit the ball over 200 yards
Just been to driving range and average today was 186 meters or 204 yards. I like to play 5500 - 5800 meter tee's or 6000 to 6300 yards. with a good approach shot can threaten the green most times. So 200 yards on the fairway is always my target. Occassionally can get 210 metres but don't rely on it. 15 handicap but just need to brush up my chipping and putting
I live in a senior community, the courses here have six tees, so the courses play anywhere from 3000 to 7000 yards. I and most of my old fart buddies play from the 5500 or 6000 yard set. A top drive of 190 allows me to break 90 on the days when my short game is more or less "on." Keys: Keep your drives in play! Avoid OB and water.
190 yds is good enough !!! playing 2 to 3 times a week..with your mates, couple of beers 🍻.....Sure beats painting the kitchen, tiling bathroom or shopping with Mrs.
Well I hit 200 yards first time back at the driving range in like 2-3 years before I could barely drive the ball 150 yards my best ever was 150 and now while trying to just go through the motions and not trying to hit the ball hard I got multiple 200+ yard drives so it seems to me that although I'm inexperienced that just hitting the gym ABIT and making sure you get a good connection is key

Excellent analysis
But if you can stay outta trouble with that 200yrd drive and stay in the fairway that would be ideal correct??
Yes

And yet people will tell you it's 'all technique'. Nope

It’s a good drive for me. I play either 5800 or 5400 yard tees! I average 79 from the 5800 yard tees and 75 from the 7400 yard tees.
I think you flubbed a number there at the end. 7400? lol
@@frmacleod you got me! Fat fingers
I've played with many an old dude who hit 200 straight. Sure beats 250 OOB.
Carry or total?
Playing from 6200 yards ish, 200 is what I fly my driver consistently, I'm 61 and shoot 85-87.
Yep just figuring this put myself too bad it ms cold AF right now
200 in the fairway is almost always better than 250 behind a grove of trees in the long grass. :-)
If you can't hit over 200 yards, you should be playing from the senior tees unless you can hit a fairway club 180.

I need 265
200 yards for driver is pitiful…. It doesn’t depend!
if you eat a lot of soy, then it is very good
@@golfsidekickextrashow do you figure that?
