How to Automotive thank you so much for the fast reply. I am going to be on my way to autozone to purchase this switch. again thank you!! hopefully this is my problem
Nice video, so I just changed the switch on my 05 because the brake lights would stay on, bought a new one and replaced it, problem still insists. Brake lights stay on. I just replaced my battery as well, but for now I leave the switch disconnected when it sits. Any other ideas on what I should change or check?
I’ve seen it where the contacts on the lightbulbs melt and cause a short causing the lights to stay on. I would also see if you can find a wiring diagram for your car. And see if the relay May be the problem. Could be shorted.
@@HowtoAutomotive I re watched your video and I'm missing that plastic piece that keeps the switch depressed that goes into the smaller circle bracket. Thank you for the informative
Same thing on my 2005, bought a stop light switch to install later today and hoping it fixes the issue. I hate trial and error. Did you figure out what the problem was?
Patty Gallegos I believe the brake light switch on that circuit is just ground control so we’re not short the fuse out. I will look for another short in the system.
I just found out why my battery was discharging while parked. Needed to park and ride my bike before sunset so *thank you for this* Took like 2 mins to find & disengage it so i wouldn't have to use my portable charger for the 5th? time
Thumbs up on the video. One minor point, 2004 was the first model year for the TSX. They were released in 2003 as a 2004 model.
Dave Scheirer thank you for the tip and for watching!
Brian that has to be the easiest one to change I ever seen on a late model car. Everybody should be able to change it. Cheers
Doesn't get much easier than this one Steve. Thanks again for watching!!
This video helped me very much. Thanking for taking the time to film this and explain the procedure.
Stewart Lambert glad the video helped. Thank you for watching!
Are the steps the same for a 2003 Acura RSX?
do u know if this cause a "check vsa system" light on?
Erik Alvarado yes it can cause three VSA light to come on.

@@HowtoAutomotive Thank you so much!
Would a bad brake light switch cause my brake light fuse to burn out on a 2004 Acura rsx manual ?
Patty Gallegos I believe the brake light switch on that circuit is just ground control so we’re not short the fuse out. I will look for another short in the system.
Thank You so much for helping me. God/Jesus bless You
