@callumnoblett4905 it's not really fixed on my sonata. the way the bulb locks in place is trash so some how it wasn't working even it made contact. But eventually seated it correctly so.... When I turn head lights on, the night time running taillights should be on along with night time running Brakelights as well and b,lights spose to get brighter when brake is pressed... instead the tees stay on as should but bees night time running are off but they brightten when brakes are pressed. so it's a semi win..
@RBTheMechanic how do I do this, I thought it might be some wiring but the wires in the headlights themselves are fine, the sockets good, new bulbs, and I checked the fuses for the taillight and they were good, so I'm no mechanic but I can damn sure watch a video and figure stuff out lol

I swear, TH-cam is damn near useless anymore. I'm trying to figure out how to replace the darn headlights in my 2017 hyundai sonata 2.4lt limited. I've replaced hundreds of lights myself but I'll be damned if I have ever seen anything like this and TH-cam has so far been useless as I cannot find any videos on my vehicle
@@RBTheMechanic I apologize if it sounded like I was angry with you as that wasn't my intention. I was just frustrated because neither Google or TH-cam has any information on my vehicle. I ended up calling the local auto parts store and they told me I have very expensive HID headlights that are more complicated then most to replace I guess. They have a completely different connection then the bulbs I purchased and are mounted differently then the average twist in bulbs. Apparently the cheapest bulbs I can get from the autozone anyway is $130 each and I'll likely have to take the entire housing out to get to them because that have a bracket that's screwed in. I'm not sure if it's because turn with the vehicle or what but I'll likely just wait until they burn out. They are still working fine but they haven't been replaced in years. I heard you're supposed to replace them yearly but the guy at autozone said these last longer which they have. I just hope it's much longer lol.
I appreciate it. Again I appreciate all the content and I'm sure there is videos on it but the algorithm must be so off that I can't find them lol. A video of changing headlights does seem like it would not be necessary as it is usually as simple as either twisting the bulb out or a ring and then pulling the bulb out but the vehicle I have seems to be somewhat unusual which always seems to be thd case in my book lol. The reason I bought a hyundai was because I could get a fully loaded car for the base price of most others and they had the best warranties. Unfortunately now they have tons of issues but luckily I haven't had any yet. I doubt I'll buy another that's for sure.
So what I did was switch the harnesses around to check if it was the connector, but the taillight still does not work, The breaklights work but not the taillights, I would thank anyone who could help

I have same problem on my Nissan titan 2018. They said its a wiring issue and I got a quote of 1200 to diagnose and replace wiring. I'm going to try to fix it myself. My brake lights work when I step on brakes but when I take foot off the brakes are dark. I've been getting flashed by people behind me.
I would first replace all the bulbs then get back to me make sure u out in correct bulbs they crazy with that price so start with this
I have a 2017 dodge durango the driver side brake led light wont come on but the brake light works fine
If u got led lights it need the whole light to be replaced before doing the replacement check fuses and check power and ground in to the connector of the light to see if it got the power and ground with test light have some one press the brake peddle
I got a 2012 scion tc got leds parking light blown out & car won't start ABS & Traction lights are on
I doubt the led lights have anything to do start staring but u never know why don’t u start checking all of ur fuses other wise u need to check the starting system
Can this also cause a battery drain?
No it can’t
I have a 2017 ford transit connect and brake light bulb malfunction is popping up and I’ve replaced bulbs three times and nothing popping up
It could be circuit issue
I had a mechanic come out & install a new starter on my 2008 nissan versa because it kept dying, the battery was new so it wasn’t that. He insisted it was the starter. We paid him $120 for labor only for the car to die again after he left, He came back the next day to fix it, but now my front passenger light won’t come on unless I have the brights on so I know the bulb is good. The brake lights won’t come on anymore unless I have my lights on, so now I have to drive around even during the day with my lights on so that my break lights will work. They do come on so I know that the bulbs are good & it has to be some sort of electrical problem he caused. Any ideas?
I’m not sure if I understand stand u correct but tell me again just the light part
Ur brake lights don’t work? Unless u keep head lights on ?
But I don’t think he could have done anything but u never know
@@RBTheMechanic yes that’s correct, everything was working fine until he messed with my car. He took out a fuse box & messed with it then put it back & I think that may be the issue. My break lights will not work unless I turn on my headlights, then they work fine. So now in order for my brake lights to work I have to drive around with my headlights on even during the day. Plus my right passenger head light doesn’t work either now, only the driver side headlight works when I turn them on. I think the passenger head light only works if I put my brights on, unless the brights & regular lights are two different bulbs, if that’s the case then only my brights on that side work but I think the regular & brights are one bulb, if so then the bulb only works when I have my brights on. I hope im making sense.
@@64nessa maybe he yanked some wires but check to see have some one help u press the brake peddle and see if it work without head lights on
@@RBTheMechanic me & my mom did that already, the brake lights don’t work unless headlights are on, she stood behind my car & they wouldn’t work, once I turned my headlights on they started working
@@64nessa oh ok well this is electrical issue I’ll check the diagram tomorrow maybe I’ll find somthing on my computer will update u

Good job

Start with replacing the bulbs
Thanks for this. This worked great
Lol. The part when you said the cop pulled you over for no tail lights. That's why I searched topics on this and found your video. 😂😅. Do you recommend any mechanics in the Southwest Houston area ?? Thanks for the detailed video
No I don’t have any contacts out there I’m in north NJ however. Best mechanic for simple stuff is do it urself!!
Thanks man, was my exact issue.
No problem 👍
I have a 2001 maxima
The break light switch keeps burning out . Also the ABS light is one . Related ?
I have replaced the break light switch x2 and with in a week it’s broken again.
All break lights were working g after replacing the switch but a week it’s broken again.
Any ideas ?
I had the same issue on Infiniti i30 2004 or somthing yeah of the time I had to replace the plastic part in there that drips the switch but I never had burned switch try oem I guess and it could be related to abs

Nice good job!!!

@@PedroAntonio-jw7rr ok start with checking fuses and replace the bulbs as welll I had customer who had all the bulbs bad and he was going crazy thinking it was electrical cuz all can’t fail it once little did he know they went out one at a time he just never noticed

Gotta resolve the water issue maybe need new housing assembly of light
Hey I just changed my brake light bulbs to LEDs and they work when turned on but doesn’t get brighter when my brakes are stepped how do I fix this
Well u might have wrong bulb or not propper connection
@@RBTheMechanic Ok I’m guessing the connection because I ended up putting my old light bulbs in and the brake lights still won’t get bright when brakes applied. Guessing it messed up my wires 🤦♂️
Thanks so much appreciate it keep up the good work
No problem!! Always here to help
Gonna check it...thank you!
Welcome
nice video but how can you test a reg light bulb thanks
U can’t test it I wouldn’t waste my time testing the bulb usully the fair brakes so u can test with oms meter of use power and ground so u know it got power and ground it has to lite up but some times the contac connects and start to work I would just replace it
This worked for me thanks!!
Good job!!!
It absolutely does matter what vehicle you have when everything is good but the brake lights aren't working. Depending on the car depends on the problem. You should know that.
Yes
Thank you, Thank You!!
Welcome
First I had one brake light out …Replaced bulb now both sides are out …but they are illuminated with taillights.
Check ur fuse also if u out in correct bulb if it’s wrong depending on single or dual filemnt it can short and blow the fuse
Good idea. Im gonna check contacts before i replace
Yup
my break lights work during day time... when i turn on head lights then break lights dont work... what is the problem..?
Start with changing ur bulbs also I need u to make video on this post it let me see what ur talking about
@@RBTheMechanic i meant, when i dont use front headlights, at that time break lights work well... and at night time when i switch on the front main lights at that time back lights are ok but when i press the break paddle at that time break lights dont work sir...

Appreciated, thank you so much sir, it works now.. i just changed the bulb... awesome.. thank you😁🙏
@@Suraj318460 good job
I hope that’s what I have going on. I figure if it’s a fuse both lights would be out, and the bulb i replaced looked fine and it’s less than a year old.
Bulb can go out in a month so check to see bulb or this replace it
my Brakelights only work when the headlights are off. When I turn headlight on it's as if it turns on the braking filament in the bulb.
How did you fix it?
@callumnoblett4905 it's not really fixed on my sonata. the way the bulb locks in place is trash so some how it wasn't working even it made contact. But eventually seated it correctly so.... When I turn head lights on, the night time running taillights should be on along with night time running Brakelights as well and b,lights spose to get brighter when brake is pressed... instead the tees stay on as should but bees night time running are off but they brightten when brakes are pressed. so it's a semi win..
Thanks 🙏🏾👍
Welcome
Thanks dude!

My taillights wont work after ive checked fusues and put in a new bulb yesterday anyone got a real solution please
Check power and ground
@RBTheMechanic how do I do this, I thought it might be some wiring but the wires in the headlights themselves are fine, the sockets good, new bulbs, and I checked the fuses for the taillight and they were good, so I'm no mechanic but I can damn sure watch a video and figure stuff out lol
@@Joshpearman69 use test light check power and ground

My brake light works, but it doesn't light up when I press on the brake. My bulb acts as both the tail light and the brake light. Only one works.
Check the connections like I show if other side is working this should work also check fuses
Thank you señor!

@@RBTheMechanicif the socket is broken can you replace just the socket or do you have to replace the entire wiring harness. In my socket one of the contacts broke thank you. Nissan Sentra 2010 can’t seem to find just the socket online

Ok sorry if I get the vehicle in I will make a video on it but I do notice lot of videos on it
@@RBTheMechanic I apologize if it sounded like I was angry with you as that wasn't my intention.
@@my2centz196 it’s cool no office take I always try to help
@@my2centz196maybe don’t by a Hyundai dog😭
Thanks ill try it on my reverse bulbs
