I got my 20x42 pit maybe eight months ago and I ask Chris about not panting it he said no he couldn’t do it and now to see this. Don’t get me wrong I love my pit but damn if you would have said I’m working on something like that I would have waited …..oh well you win some you lose some …….bottom line I love it and I would have got that 48 oh well…..
Chris you gotta do a Video cooking on that beast and show the temp control right to left. Is a V basket that much better than the normal plate you guys use?
I like it; more choices for the offset stick burner BBQ market. Four out of 5 stars: if it has a 1/2" firebox option with multipurpose grill top like the other LS offsets and a 12" shelf, this would be an amazing smoker.
I love this but I'd want this with the following custom things: 1.) a wider firebox 2.) add the old school lsg griddle on top with opening lid and extra sear racks in the firebox 3.) Extra top rack for more cooking surface (rack flush to lid) 4.) Pellet guts and rear hopper controls ....and then it would be perfect. Death to traeger and blackstone and 1 cooker replacing my other 4 cookers (traeger/blackstone/kettle/ stand alone offset) sell it for 10k and I bet it would be the leading cooker sold in the US
Update: have had this pit running nearly non stop since delivery. Amazingly simple to use and a pleasure. Family, friends and acquaintances alike have commented this is the best bbq that I have ever made. Truly satisfied I went with a LSG offset. Thanks LSG.
@@BravoActual4756 How's it running since you started using it? Is the temp even across the entire cook chamber? I'm wondering if any radiant heat would come from the baffle wall that guides the smoke/heat up. Thanks!
@@teamturner3933 Typically use the top for items I like to crisp up as the heat flows top down. In my experience the top grate averages anywhere from 25-50* warmer depending of course upon the size of the fire. Still thrilled every time I run the pit.
The water heats up by coming in contact with the firebox wall. Just enough heat to gently evaporate slowly adding some nice moisture into the smoke chamber.
Out of curiosity, the fire box on the 40 and 48 TE looks much smaller than the ones on your standard 24" radius offsets. Was there a reason for make it smaller?
How does the throat directing the air up to affect draw and the overall convection into the chamber? I’d love a video explaining more scientifically how this works
Mad Scientist just did a video talking about that he has the feature on his large pits and he said it makes all the difference in the world and is his favorite design. th-cam.com/video/7TR-1rrj_KA/w-d-xo.html
I can’t explain it scientifically, but this design is a good one - it gives you the entire grate to cook on without worrying about burning something due to a hot spot normally found on the traditional offset. I made something similar for my Old Country Brazos - it’s definitely a game changer and it’s a great thing for sure. I have some videos up on my channel showing how the upward facing heat baffle helps even out the temps and eliminates the hot spot. I got the idea from Mad Scientist, but I think this little secret has been floating around out there. If you have a traditional offset I highly recommend making a little mod to do something similar to what you’re seeing here - you won’t regret it!

Thanks Rus

The best smoker on the market!!! I just smoked my first meat on this smoker and the temperature is the same from left to right. NO HOT SPOT!!!
Have you done any cooking on the top grate?
MAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 year later and you make a pit I want......AGAIN!!!
Heck ya Chris!!! That pit is hardcore old school brother!! I love the patina look on a solid offset!!! Excited to see it in action!!!
Thanks Jeff
interesting firebox design, can't wait to actually see it in use.
I need the smoker with all terrain wheel kit in my life!!!
Ordered one yesterday. Had to have it to add with my LSG 42 pellet and the 5 other cookers. Can’t wait for it to show up!
Thank you for the order
Awesome !!! I need this in a 24x48 version using the old firebox.
Nice looking pit Chris! Killing it!
That looks amazing. Already have your 24” cabinet but if I was to start over I’d strongly consider this.
Looks stellar Chris. Lovely work!
Can I get one with the cooking grate/lid above the firebox? Gotta hv that feature.. Otherwise love it.
Very nice. Hope you can do a video on diff between this and regular offset units.

Just bought mine can’t wait to get it!
Great smoker.. Why is the top grate so small?? How much will it be to add additional top grate or make a big one for the top rack??
We offer a second split top grate for $45.00
Looks good Chris. Will there be additional sizes or options? I look forward to some demonstration videos.

Why 1/4 inch and not 3/8?? Especially for over 3K
That’s pit is BEAUTIFUL!!
Yes finally!!! Gonna order one for my Christmas!!!

If you want a pellet grill, I would suggest you go with an Easy Bake Oven. Ain't nobody here interested in pellet BBQ's!
Awesome looking Smoker, would love to get one of these for making perfect bbq👍🏾

🎉 awesome rig!!
Ordered as soon as I saw the video.
Should mention Smoky Ribs BBQ and Dead Broke BBQ heavily influenced me to Lone Star Grillz.

We need a cook video Chris!! Very nice smoker! I love my 24x40 from you guys!
Great job Chris, glad to see you are always putting out something new.
I've been looking at your 24x40 offset. This Texas edition seems similar size?
Pros and cons in comparing these two?
Do you offer different wheels for the offroad package? I would prefer all-black more aggressive-looking wheels.
Off topic: Do yall not have the 20" x 30" Offset Smoker in stock anymore? I didn't see it on your website. Great video. Thank youi
I think the 20x30 hasn't been advertised for over a year.
Even now, there is only a $100 difference between the 20x36 and the 20x42.
