  • Short-nosed saddle by Bontrager.
    250mm long and 145mm (or 155mm) wide.
Great saddle for those who want to try short-nosed or cut-out saddle.
Cut-out width is 20mm at the nose tip and pretty much widening to 35mm up to the back.
My first review video, all kinds of feedback is appreciated :)

Just found a brand new one in a discount warehouse for only $30 USD! Just mounted on my BMC SLR01. Looks and feels awesome!

Considering a new saddle for my road bike. I presently have a very basic Specialized saddle that comes standard on their entry level bikes. I want an open channel down the center and the Bontrager Aeolus Comp has that. I’m also considering the Shimano Stealth Pro. Would like to try one first, but the local bike shop only has Specialized Power saddles.

i think three of them Specialized Power, Bontrager Aeolus, and Shimano Stealth Pro are really popular, each has their own unique features.. I think IMO Power saddle has the plushiest foam, Bontrager widest mid channel, and Stealth saddle is flat (not rised at the back) some people find it more comfortable.. But price wise Bontrager Aeolus is cheapest

Hi. Could you tell please how does it compare to the Specialized Power in your opinion?

I haven't been using the Power for long time unfortunately. But from memory, the support in the middle of the saddle of the Power is more present due to smaller cut-outs vs. the Aeolus
And the swooping profile of the Aeolus is more aggressive (i.e. Power has a smoother transition from the back swoop to the middle)..
However if you like to sit at the front of the saddle like me, I find Aeolus has slightly more padding at the nose vs. the Power..
      Hope it helps :)

Hi does the nose with cutout dig into your crevices of thigh and perineal? Is it a sharp or flat edge? The pro stealth seems flatter on nose. I tried cutout and seem to concentrate more load and pressure in other areas.

when you wear padded bibs you wont feel the cutout digging into your perineal, unless you are a really heavy weight cyclist. For me at least it feels fine

Perfect timing, I just ordered one of these off of eBay and should come in a couple days. I recently went from a hybrid bike to a road bike and ported over my SMP TRK saddle from my hybrid bike. I love the TRK but its a bit too bulbous/heavy and is way out of place on a road bike. Also the TRK isn't design for more aggressive positions. Hopefully the combination of my first pair padded bike shorts and the Bontrager Aeolus Comp saddle is comfortable enough for me.
One thing I wish more reviewers of bike saddles would do is measure the width of the cutout at different point of the saddle. No information about that from the manufacturers.

Hey there, thanks for the feedback for my video!! I've got it measured for you.
At the tip of the cutout it is about 15mm, then mid-way to the back around 35mm, and at the very back around 37mm.
This is measured between the two sloping points of the cut-out..

Thanks. The saddle arrived today and omg I can't believe it but it's more comfortable than my SMP TRK saddle. I got the 155mm wide saddle.

@@sevegarza Congrats!! Happy that you like that saddle, let me know once you've tried it on a long ride :)

@@twowheelsandcroissant I've been on a couple long rides now. With padded bike shorts it's great! Been on 2.5, 3, and 3.5 hour long rides. Only on the 3.5 hour long ride did I feel soreness in my sit bones after the ride. But only soreness of my sit bones, so the cutout and shape of the saddle is great. I couldn't lean forward with my old SMP TRK because of the shape (it rises up in the front), but this one allows me to lean forward to get more aero when going downhill. It does take a while to get the setback and angle dialed in because there is not much room to move around on the saddle with it being smaller and curved up in the back. Took several rides to get it right. But once I did works great.
I don't know how anyone riding a drop bar bar bike with a non-cutout saddle does it. A cutout saddle is absolutely required for drop bar bikes IMO.

Hi guys! Thanks for the video! Did you guys measure your sit bone before choosing the size? Mine is 125mm so which size should I choose, please?
