@@AbdullahKhan15 i use madamanglaise(a senior examiner who goes through each question for both papers,she is mainly a language teacher though) and MrEverythingEnglish for lit but her blog on q5 is not what i expected still helped but not much as i expected and mrsalles is not that good imo are there any other suggestions

One great tip I heard that I'd like to add is relying on the syllabus/specification heavily instead of textbooks. Treat the bullet points on there like the question and study the answers basically. I realised that for subjects like chemistry there is so much info in the book that you won't be tested on. Like a chapter might contain 30 pages in your textbook but in the syllabus they only ask you to cover a few number of points from that topic. For me studying from the textbook was too much but the notes my teacher gave simply weren't enough, however the syllabus was a perfect guide on what to & how much to study and where to start. Really helps you give priority to the important things and not memorise unnecessary stuff. Also try analysing the type of questions asked about a certain topic before studying it to give you an idea or imagine the questions in your head

This is really helpful, I hate long term revision timetables too and I find them to be useless- I’m going to stop trying to force them and just make ones for the day or week!
Hopefully, you end up getting the grades you need. I recommend you just bang out past papers cuz that's what I did when I was in yr 11, ended up with most 9's and a few 8's. For math I just used math's genie and did bare papers now I'm doing Further Math's a level. ;) PS: Year 12

Heyy, I can answer Q2 In the spring / summer term of yr 9 we read through the whole of Inspector calls and the easier poems of the anthology annotating them and practising exam questions. I think just to transition us into year 10. The essay writing was the biggest jump. Also you said you’ve started your GCSEs?!? Like all of them??! I find that a bit mad however reasonable. Actually yeah, the one thing I did to get a grade 9 was that I heavily focused on having a solid structure was all my answers (especially the 6,9,12 markers) using MELIBA E.g
L would highly recommend for year 10 and 11 student to watch 1 rate tutor. By watching l went from grade 4 to grade 6 by just watching her lives video from yt. L proved alot in english literature in just under a week by just watching her lives video😊😊

Quizlet is a fantastic resource for flash cards. I would recommend using revision guides for notes (the CGP ones are great) and getting onto practice questions and papers as quickly as possible. These are the fastest way to make progress (although I know it’s a lot of effort!). Good luck 📊🙏🏼

@Abdullah Khan, Should I continue making Anki flashcards for science? So far I've only made cards for Cell Biology, little chemistry and little physics. I'm using Anki since it incorporates Active Recall and saves me the hassle of having to allocate time to review stuff again. Also when covering the content I don't do any Active Recall because I just focus on understanding and then making the anki flashcards alongside watching the vid. Idk what do you think is best, to achieve top grades?
i personally use anki... i never used anki beefore my mocks, finished all my flashcards for all 9 subjects, ended up improving from most 6s to almost all 9s (8 9s 1 8) in my mocks.... do past papers and flashcards though

I get where your coming from, these gsces basically determine your future i guess. Tbh i just use notion to set tasks and i must complete them in the day, even if i lose motivation i try to do something at least.

@Abdullaj Khan, TO review the content 4 times, How do I make time for that. For example lets say I do The Periodic Table today the next review is tomorrow, but the problem is I'll have other stuff I need to revise. So I won't have time to review it if you get what I mean. Like If Im supposed to do this for every sub-topic I do, then there isn't even time to do that because I'll basically be going over the whole spec all over again. I hope that makes sense. Can you help please. I also prefer to use freesciencelessons since he quotes directly from the AQA spec so yh.
Is it better to focus on revising 1 subject per week or is it better to be combined with other subjects? (I'd get more confused if I used the 2nd one but taking an hour for another subject per each day I can handle it)
Honestly it is better to do combined subjects because you’re less likely to forget stuff whereas if you did a chunk at a time then it could lead to lack of recall

For maths use Corbettmaths for videos & worksheets. Also use GCSEMathsTutor because he goes over the GCSE style questions (easy and hard ones). For English Language practicing your structure is important so try to learn an essay writing structure like P.E.E (quite simple imo), P.E.T.A.L and P.R.E.T.Z.E.L. You can learn more from mreverythingenglish

Yeah I never said you HAVE to make flashcards so you can try another (simpler) way of revising which is just memorising key points from revision guides and practice questions.

Yes that way is more than sufficient for sciences. For English Language it’s mainly about practising your structure and technique so I would recommend MrEverythingEnglish

@@juventusfan4873 CGP and Past papers are your best friend, and freescience lessons. Do the past papers even if you don't know some content just make sure you know content before-hand. Then make flashcards/ review the content you got wrong in your past papers.

i have been told so many times to start early and i have not listened and now im a month away but i still have faith and i will study smart but i do regret this as my stress levels are a lot higher and it would have been much easier.
Not point stressing because that’s the worst thing you can do to yourself. In fact you could even boost your confidence by not holding too high expectations of your self as you revise since you didn’t give yourself as much time. Good luck though

@Abdullah Khan, Should I continue making Anki flashcards for science? So far I've only made cards for Cell Biology, little chemistry and little physics. I'm using Anki since it incorporates Active Recall and saves me the hassle of having to allocate time to review stuff again. Also when covering the content I don't do any Active Recall because I just focus on understanding and then making the anki flashcards alongside watching the vid. Idk what do you think is best, to achieve top grades?
i personally use anki... i never used anki beefore my mocks, finished all my flashcards for all 9 subjects, ended up improving from most 6s to almost all 9s (8 9s 1 8) in my mocks.... do past papers and flashcards though

Do you want the grade 9’s or a few hours of enjoyment? Even if you enjoy yourself watching the shows now you won’t enjoy results day.
@@RandomGuy-fp1rq Ofcourse i want the grade 9s but i struggle to find the motivation to get my ass to my desk and start studying. Its especially more difficult for subjects like German or Geogrpahy because they are so damn boring and so hard to memorise.
I get where your coming from, these gsces basically determine your future i guess. Tbh i just use notion to set tasks and i must complete them in the day, even if i lose motivation i try to do something at least.
If you want the results you have to put in the work. Motivation is BS imo.

If you know the content then spend some time for each subject doing full past papers so then you know what you’re getting wrong to focus on.
@@AbdullahKhan15 that's the thing I only started revising 4 days ago and so I just begun covering the content. When I finish a chapter I'll then do Practice Q's for it.
@@jouad5611 You should get some of the practice workbooks for maths and science, it means you dont spend so much time printing stuff off!
@Abdullaj Khan, TO review the content 4 times, How do I make time for that. For example lets say I do The Periodic Table today the next review is tomorrow, but the problem is I'll have other stuff I need to revise. So I won't have time to review it if you get what I mean. Like If Im supposed to do this for every sub-topic I do, then there isn't even time to do that because I'll basically be going over the whole spec all over again. I hope that makes sense. Can you help please. I also prefer to use freesciencelessons since he quotes directly from the AQA spec so yh.
Is it better to focus on revising 1 subject per week or is it better to be combined with other subjects? (I'd get more confused if I used the 2nd one but taking an hour for another subject per each day I can handle it)
Honestly it is better to do combined subjects because you’re less likely to forget stuff whereas if you did a chunk at a time then it could lead to lack of recall

Hello thankyou for the great video Im currently on course to finish pretty much all my revision material it’s just the motivation to do all of SCIENCE it’s huge and I’ve probably spent 50% of my revision this month on sconce. I was wondering if you could help with me with my 2 weakest subjects on how to revise English language and maths find it really hard as I got a 4 in language and 5 in maths. This would be much appreciated
For maths use Corbettmaths for videos & worksheets. Also use GCSEMathsTutor because he goes over the GCSE style questions (easy and hard ones). For English Language practicing your structure is important so try to learn an essay writing structure like P.E.E (quite simple imo), P.E.T.A.L and P.R.E.T.Z.E.L. You can learn more from mreverythingenglish

Yeah I never said you HAVE to make flashcards so you can try another (simpler) way of revising which is just memorising key points from revision guides and practice questions.

Yes that way is more than sufficient for sciences. For English Language it’s mainly about practising your structure and technique so I would recommend MrEverythingEnglish

If flashcards aren’t working for you then I would recommend just memorising from CGP revision guides and Cognito.

@@juventusfan4873 CGP and Past papers are your best friend, and freescience lessons. Do the past papers even if you don't know some content just make sure you know content before-hand. Then make flashcards/ review the content you got wrong in your past papers.
