DCS: A Day In The Valleys with the TF-51

  • Myself and ChrisJSY take the TF-51 for a spin through some of the valleys in DCS World.
    The TF-51 is a free addition to the already free DCS World.
    Unlike the P-51 it has no weaponry but it's still a lot of fun to fly as I've tried to capture in this video.
    Thanks to all of you subbers, likers, commenters and sharers. If you like my content you can help me out by sharing and linking it to others. Cheers

    This is definitely the best video on the internet!!! I’m 15 and I’m gonna try to learn flying the TF-51D. I know it’s gonna be very difficult but that’s what I want to do with my PC and not playing Fortnite as all the other kids in my class

    That was an impressive piece of flying. I've only played the DCS A-10C module, but I'm guessing it's safe to assume that they put similar effort into making this one just as realistic, which makes this even more impressive.

    • @stoops417
      @stoops417 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The P-51 and TF-51 are the same level of fidelity as the A-10c module. The aircraft itself is far simpler obviously but it is still modeled in extreme detail.

      JiveDilettante So, just to make sure I understand the description, the TF-51 is totally free with DCS World downloaded, and I don't need to buy the P-51? Because it would be AWESOME to just get in it and fly around to relax after a rough day. *edit* Oh, and I've watched this like 5 times now. It's pretty damn awesome.

    • @JiveDilletante
      @JiveDilletante  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Martin. I'm still happily with ShackTac, I only occasionally manage to play Arma and DCS at the moment. I haven't found much time to commit to videos but considering pushing out some short stuff if you think that would be interesting? I've never wanted to waste anyone's time with lengthy content unless I think it's worth watching

    • @Sutti4844
      @Sutti4844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JiveDilletante That would be amazing to see. Like some sort of compilation or a snipped from an interesting part of a game would be cool. Id agree, even as an avid fan of this kind of content I can say the longer videos can be a bit of a risk for a viewer. You, Beagle, and CHkilroy were my favorite channels to watch when I was younger and I still occasionally binge a few of my fav videos when I can. I think I got into these videos around 10 years ago. Its cool to see I still like the same things even though I am in my mid twenties now haha. I do like Dslyecxi videos as well but as you mentioned it can be hard to watch all of his content since so many are over an hour long.

    • @JiveDilletante
      @JiveDilletante  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it can be difficult to get through the longer videos with everything else competing for your time. I know Dslyecxi respects his audience's time and it's something I've tried to follow, as in only putting out content that meets a standard rather than just 'any old shit' if you what I mean. I'll try to capture and cut some footage soon and you can see how bad I am haha

    Can confirm, this airplane is fun to fly. Did you forget to turn off takeoff assistance in the DCS options or do you just know what you're doing?

    • @ChrisJSY
      @ChrisJSY 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No flaps, but if heavy load use 20 degrees of flaps.
      Trim 7 degrees right rudder(some say 2.5, some say 5) but it's up to you, sometimes I don't even use it and manually rudder.
      Trim Elevators 6 degrees tail heavy, so the dial is moving towards you and pitching the aircraft up.
      Ease the throttle to 30-45 manifold pressure (top right dial) to 100mph then ease again to 61 pressure for take off.
      The use of trim will help counteract torque and the nose wanting to pitch down suddenly.
      You don't need to pull up right away, the aircraft will start to lift by itself where you can then do whatever you want :D
      This is all came from a 1944 docu on the P-51 but it seems to be applicable here.
      (Sorry Jive for Ninja Replying!)

    • @phearlock2537
      @phearlock2537 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice, I only use the 5 degrees rudder trim and sorta wing it from there, since my WWII aircraft knowledge is incredibly lacking compared to 4th gen fighter jets. But I'm happy that I'm at the point where I can get it into the air without breaking it.
