Thanks Mystic, it's coming along and we're both learning each week! Max likes to join in but has drawn the line at more pickles! He has a selection of tea shirts which suits his character! Mum's time here is almost up but we've all enjoyed her stay.

Thank you, it took some thinking about but it's all worked well. Mum really enjoyed her holiday with us, we've made new memories and she now knows where we are and has a better idea of the house layout and grounds.
I can’t imagine how nice it is to pick your own walnuts, they are so expensive here in Canada! The pickled walnuts are something I will have to try one day when we are in Bulgaria😋. Max, your new haircut looks great on you!
Max says thank you, he quite likes it! The walnuts are plentiful here and it looks like being a bumper year for them this year! By all means try pickled walnuts, they are not for everyone but you never know if they're for you.

Thanks M+J, the roof has worked well. There's more to do but progress is good. Mum loved the monument but we couldn't stay long as the wind was very strong. She nearly blew away! 🤣
Fantastic boyo I wish I had your energy buddy I have a house full of unfinished projects, ur up on your roof ticking off jobs, I can’t find my list of jobs never mind a pen to tick something off great work
The secret is I don't have much else to do so I might as well plough through the jobs. If I sit still too long Lynne finds me stuff to do and it's usually gardening!

Noticed today our 'arch' is actually squared lol. Assume we will be able to access the roof internally through the little door or window in it, we can't get a good view until we have long ladders to know exactly. Thanks for showing the results of the pickled walnuts and various reactions to them! Will you make them again?
Sometimes the access to the balcony doors can be hazardous, picking your way across the attic floor! Long ladders are almost essential on these village houses, so is a chainsaw but that's another story! We will make pickled walnuts again as they are easy to make and Lynne is a fan!
I'm certain offering my legs to the sun gods will buy me enough time to finish the roof. They don't often see the light of day (you can tell by their colour!)
