Absolutely beautiful videos. I'd love to know more about how the escape wheel, pallet fork and balance wheel interact.

I had no idea about the Geneva Seal requirement that all gears be gold plated, but having to polish the teeth so the plating doesn't flake off inside the movement. That's so cool!

What does the mainspring barrel attach to first? Is it the center wheel? And that has the cannon pinion on it?
What defines how fast the center wheel turns? I presume that'd be the escapement, correct?

Excellent. And I like that you used Schubert's piece. I wonder if he used a watch, he had so little time...

Question: I know the ratio among the teeth of all gears in the train must be set to have the piece keep accurate time. My question whether one can determine from the size of One wheel what the appropriate diameter of each other wheels in the train would be? Thoughts?

Wait, so if I still remember Watch and Listen and what I gather from this... The escapement wheel is the transmission of the power, and the balance wheel is the brakes. So the escament wheel transfers the power to the hands, but it id the balance wheel the one that sets how fast time passes on those hands... Right? haha

The gear train is the transmission of power from the mainspring to the escapement. The mainspring is the storage of power and the escapement is what regulates the flow of energy so it is allowed to release at a known rate. That rate is displayed using the watch hands.
