My childhood, 2k3 was my introduction to TMNT, first show to truly meld the feel of the original comics and the 80's cartoon like the 1st live action film, probably my favorite version of the Shredder and Baxter Stockman, always gonna have a special place in my heart.

'03 was my favorite TMNT series.
The games never fully lived up to it, but they were still mostly fun overall.
EDIT: Slight side note, but the Triceratons originally were a whole species. Mirage actually created them before even the TMNT, iirc.

Me personally, I think Battle Nexus has the best soundtrack of the 3 games because it has a more diverse soundtrack than the other 2. I feel like tmnt 1 and mutant nightmare focus a lot on having rock as it's main genre of music while 2 mixes it up just a bit according to the world map. All of them have good songs that I still jam to in my off time. Hopefully we'll get a collection of the 03 games from konami or whatever developer wants to port these games to modern consoles/pc. Mutant Nightmare not getting released on pc back in the day was a shame.

This was honestly the best of the 2003 games (on console, not counting the GBA versions) which is sad, because that's not saying much. The one thing setting this game apart from the previous two is the fact you have all 4 turtles present at all times and the upgrade system for making each character better. It is cool they follow the story of the season the game's based on (like the first two did), except this one spills across multiple seasons of the show.
I felt the same way personally about the first game on Xbox, even back when I was a teenager and it first came out. That game was so boring and hard to get through due to its repetitive nature, and awkward camera angles and controls. I never got to try the 2nd game for long but it improved slightly over it, and then the 3rd game was pretty fun. Just none of it invoked the same feeling of nostalgia and replayability as the old Konami games did. At least the GBA versions were pretty nice when I tried them out.

Ah, I see why they suddenly switched to the CG cutscenes. They basically rewrote the story using these CG cutscenes, presumably to make the story more action heavy for the sake of gameplay and skip past parts of the story that are a bit slower. Professor Honeycutt didn't return to Earth on the show until later, after Donatello convinced the Triceratons that he wasn't on Earth by teaching them that they can scan for his energy since technology on Earth wasn't advanced enough to have that tech yet. Then they return as well and use this info to track him and this makes keeping him away from them much harder. And that's only the halfway point of the arc.

    1. TMNT 2003 (Sorry. It's extremely catchy and not, overly, expository.)
    2. TMNT 1987 (Yeah. Slightly catchier than 2003, but the theme song as character exposition thing is...bad.)
    3. Rise of the TMNT (There is one rap verse, but it's mostly a "techno R&B" vibe.)

@@flophouseplays Sorry. I missed that. Great video. Mutant Nightmare was something Konami should have started with concerning the 2003 turtles.

I played 2 and 3 a lot. 2 was better I think. I wasn't a fan of how they did 3 compared to 2. I rented the first one and then never found it again after that

You know what the turtles are missing as a team? A pilot type, and why not Mikey. Sure Don might seem obvious, but he already does a lot of the heavy lifting plot wise and Mikey just seems like a better fit to "feel out" how some new vehicle rides.

Interestingly on the bio of the original Ace Duck action figure. :P
"After realizing he wasn't just some quack off of the streets, the Turtles decided to hire Ace to pilot their Turtle Blimp. Always looking for a good adventure, Ace isn't afraid to scramble the Foot with his hard-boiled Egg Grenades... as long as he gets paid on time. Even though he's employed by the Turtles, Ace is still their fearless, flying friend. "
