I don't hate hate fishing, but I definitely don't like how the AI in the game knows there's a challenge and all I ever get are BLUE AND GOLD bubbles and no white...when non challenge days all my bubbles are WHITE!!
I HATE the fishing tasks where they ONLY appear in ONE biome AND you can't use potions on it.
To add: fishing for the blue buttons sucks SOOO much! 😭 The quest where you have to mine SHINY amethysts, was one of the last 2 for me. Got lucky that a 3rd one popped in from a red bonus spawn. For the Star Path, I try to get as many tasks done a day as possible until I get time locked ones. Some days I do better than others, but I prefer getting the Star Path done as fast as I can since I know I don't always have time to play DDV for hours all the time.
Not only is fishing the most boring task, it's also the least useful resource.
It took forever to fish for 10 CRABS because they only spawn in the blue ripples in the Frosted Heights, and 75% of the time, it was tilapia in the blue ripples. Not. Crabs.
Also you can get plastic scraps by digging up the rubble in Ancient Landing and digging there, too.
That’s how my fishing is going! I’ve only gotten 4 and otherwise I’m done with the star path!! I’ve been done with everything else for a long time! I go fishing up there several times a day too!!
I seriously hate fishing!!!! Making white bubbles give you blue buttons is just pure madness and cruel!!! They need to change the fishing potions, the first one should be changed to give only blue bubbles and the second should be changed to give only gold bubbles. Catching crabs is also ridiculous atm, there's only one place to catch them and it has to be with a blue bubble. Yes it says some white, but that's just crazy impossible to get too. Plus when you do finally get a blue, it gives you Tilapia most of the time. Tilapia have two places to catch it, so it should be changed to just crab. And don't get me started on mining for shiny gems for quests!!!! 😭

To be honest, I find pretty much ALL of the grinding I have to do (mining, digging, etc.) to be BORING AF! I’ve LITERALLY caught myself falling asleep while doing it countless times. Wasted hours and days of my life just to get a small square footage of path walkway laid out and I hate it.
(If you play on PC) I hate it so much that I just went on Nexus and downloaded an item duplication mod, no more grind lol you can also get a scrooge store refresh mod, so I can recheck the store every hour, another pointless grind otherwise.
I find mining calming but fishing just ruins my whole zen flow.
I think they should make an event of breaking rocks or digging up stumps...something useful
I didn't like the way Daisy was introduced into the valley either. Her storyline didn't make much sense and seemed rushed. I was hoping there would be more of an emotional connection between she and Donald but that didn't happen either. I thought Donald would be more excited about her arrival but it was more like "Oh my gf's back. I'll just go help with some house repairs.". Meh.
Why is it always fishing? Why not add some digging and mining. Doesn’t have to be fishing over and over.
Mining isn´t always fun. I had the task of mining 2 shiny emeralds: I had to mine for more than 1 hour the last 3 evenings to get the second one, terrible droprate. I´ve already finished fishing lobster, fishing for carp was bad this time, worse than the lobster. The task with the crabs has popped up, no fun task. At least with mining you just have to push and hold the button.

YES! I’ve only gotten one crab and I’ve been fishing for them for over a week!!
They must’ve changed the algorithm as I used to get tons of crabs! Now I just get the Tilapia. I’m down to that last one and the 3 shiny amethyst’s and I’m done with the star path! I’ve never liked fishing in real! Fishing is my last category from the original DDV game that I haven’t finished. I’ve got every other category completed!! Great now I have to do a lot of fishing for Oswald too? I’m putting off doing the level 10 quest. I’ve only got 2 fishing companions. Goofy and Donald!!
Yeah. Why are there no digging tasks? I made Stitch a digger and never get to use him. Guess I gotta give him a new job.

Yeah, I’d happily collect clay or snow (another example of something kinda unique) as a star path task. Even if it’s a ridiculous number like 50+
@@Shaakti86mining would at least be a switch up from fishing so would digging even if both of those also get repetitive as well those are at least a nice switch up from fishing. Not everything has to be fishing just like not everything has to involve digging or mining. But honestly almost every single star path involves a lot of fishing and barely any mining or digging
My blue bubbles are broken. They give all of the things and sometimes I'll get a crab from a white circle. It's very frustrating. It took me almost a whole week to get all the crab.
Plastic is also in the big and little rocks on eternity isle.
I despise the crab one. If it was in more than one biome, it wouldn't be as bad. But it takes forever.
I hate the tasks that make you fish and mine a specific type of fish or gem. They take 3 or 4 times as long and just make the task unbearable.
PS in frosted heights if you get salmon feed them to the foxes they will give you an iron bar. YAY
The rng really makes fishing painful. Because if you have to fish up 30 of something, it could easily take 80 attempts(because you only get something half the time, then a little bad luck). That is way too much fishing.
When I did that Oswald quest, I also would break those ancient stone things that also have plastic in them, so I wasn't only fishing for them lol
I had tons of them from breaking those things everyday, but I guess not everyone cleans up as much as I do. Now, if I could only be as motivated IRL.
I often get salmon (yes, really salmon) from the blue bubbles in Frosted Heights 😢 It makes the crab task so difficult!
I'm starting to hate cooking now too which I always liked before. But fishing? Ugh - needs to be dialed down

That crab task aged me.
I get that fishing is a thing. But it's always the hardest, most boring part of any quest. Often, fishing quests require fresh fish, so storing up is much less effective. It's like since this button quest, I'm getting LESS white ripples. To put on top of that, fish are not even worth much money. So when I do get fish, they're cheap white ripple fish.
Mining for shiny? That's not so hot, but at least there's the chance of other things - after all, coal is the most important resource in the game, iron is important, and many gems are important for crafting and frequent gifts and worth money... But people don't even ask for fish as gifts as much as they do gems!

I hate fishing. To the point I'm doubtful I'll even make any cool popcorn buckets.
Trust me, as long as you have a few fishing buddies, the fishing one is the least of your worries. I find the green ones way too time consuming with the cupcakes and the red ones are awful looking all around for them even with the ancient vacuums (I don't have enough resources to craft multiples of that yet).

A tip I got from Serroh was to use the level 3 ancient vacuum in each biome, makes it super easy to get the red buttons that way. You just check the vacuum and pick up your red buttons from it. No searching needed
I hadn't even bothered to make the vacuum until either Serroh or StarinSky talked about it in a video a month or so ago. Now I have one for Main Valley and one for Eternity Isle. They came in handy during this starpath and the last to clear 50 night thorns/crystals too.
I don't mind fishing for a bit but the obnoxious quest requests do get on my nerves. I would love to be able to hire villagers to grow things or fish for you, or at least help with the quest.
On another topic, has anyone else notice the abundance of blue chests all over the valley? I found 4 yesterday. I think they are placating us because of the glitches.
Yes! Animal crossing has a museum that you can donate all the bugs n fish you catch 😄 and also dinosaur bones that you dig up! It’s so awesome!!

I finished the crab task yesterday. Got a crab from a white circle, which surprised me but glad that task is done. I just pick and choose what tasks I want to work on each day from the Star path. It can seem a bit much. Also, fishing for blue buttons, just doing that for an hour, then moving on to something else. Thank you for the video.
I agree. The quest to find Oswald was great. Animal Crossing New Horizons was super popular with no quests. Go figure .....

I play on Switch. Yes, it can be challenging at times, but surely not a reason not to participate in Daisy’s shop. TBH, it takes me less than 5 mins per day, usually even less, to do Daisy’s challenge. Fishing- Yes, I completely agree. It’s so boring and I fall asleep! I have so many fish still to catch for the star path, buttons, AND for Oswald’s quest! I only have 60 plastic so far. So not enjoying fishing. And I agree, it would be really amazing to have a museum like in Animal Crossing, or aquarium or something to be able to put our fish in and see them swimming around.
I was just talking about how it seems like I have endless quests and duties now. I I’m also putting Daisy on the back burner for now. And fishing really is the worst of the tasks.

I’m starting to get PTSD seeing those purple quest signals hang over the 5 character heads.
It not the best, but the recipes are in the quest tab each day, so you don’t have go through the cooking menu, and you can give multiples to villagers, just not the same flavor. Once I make them all I find a villager, give them one of each, and then do that 4 more times. It goes pretty fast that way.
I grew, harvested, & purchased enough ingredients ahead of time and stored them, and that didn’t take long either, so I can just open the game, start the quests, and do the cooking each day. One big storage chest full of ingredients, snd you’re good to go.
wish people wouldn't minimize ptsd, it's a serious condition and your minor amount of stress from a game is nowhere close to real trauma.

I hate the fishing tasks a specific fish a specific biome and color of bubbles you have to fish 3x times more then actually needed for the task alone to get the task done, Also the amount of fish and the total of coins you get for that task.... Feels not even worth it... took me 3 days for the bass task with fishing 20 out...because i felt so sick of fishing after 10 minutes -.- the energy to do it was so low i lost all intrest just looking at having the fishing tasks

I say, gardening especially planting seeds is my least favorite. It takes a lot of time to just plant seeds.This is especially true when you have a gigantic farm plot for each biome. I wish they made planting seeds more easy like a watering can where you water an area, and like that, plant seeds in an area. that would save soooo much time.
I'm so grateful to myself that I just horde everything. 😂 Didn't have to grind anything but most of my plastic is gone now.
Oh I hate fishing... so far I have stacked up 4 different fishing quests on the Star path page, hoping to unlock some more before I go fishing. I usually do my fishing while watching a tv show/youtube videos/listening to podcasts, so the activity is less boring that way at least.
Pumpkins rule!!! I have 25 million dollars. I can buy whatever I want, and I am still planting those wonderful pumpkins. My next goal is 30 million. Why, just because I can.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Oswald's quest is worse than Minnie's clocktower quest. Also I think the crab quest was the last starpath quest I completed, even the shiny amethyst wasn't that bad.
I relate so much to that ADHD comment... I also have it and that is exactly what I experience!!! I manage to get through the Star Paths, sometimes I even "hyperfixate" but it's antinatural to me!
I also hate fishing requirements for the star paths and I hate fishing on Eternity Isle even more. Some of the fish (Pink/Blue Starfish, Electric Eel) are so hard to find. But as far as quests go, ever since that Minnie quest I have been hoarding supplies. Almost everything is stored in a separate Large Chest. So I have 4k of most things.
Also I love the Daisy Boutique, I play on PC, I didn't like a lot of the original clothing items so an unzipped Hoodie, boots and shoes, a blazer etc. have really improved my wardrobe. I just wish we could take Dream Snaps with Touch of Magic items. Also you don't really have to design anything for the boutique challenge, just use existing clothing and furniture that matches the required character traits.
I absolutely hate it and absolutely cannot get the freaking blue buttons and Im so freaking over it! And all of the cooking of the cupcakes 1 at a time!
It would've been more helpful if the blue buttons were available in every white bubble in meadow and beach, during a specific time, rather than being random.
I love fishing. I had a bunch of plastic saved up, so I only needed 30 for the Oswald quest. You also can get plastic from those dig piles in ancient landing. I also didn't have a problem getting the star path done. I mean it is supposed to take a bit but to me it wasn't that long. Maybe I am just use to grinding in games and it doesn't bother me idk. lol
That crab quest is a pain was catching a crab an hour it seemed like
I like fishing in the game personally. I prefer it over Stardew.

Im stuck on the star path because i dont have access to dreamsnaps. I also hate fishing, but I got all the crabs after checking a million times throughout the day. I had to bring my switch to work and check at breaks and during lunch lmao. The hedges are the ONLY thing I have gotten from premium shop.
I hate fishing for the buttons. I’ve only been able to make 1 bucket so far.
Same (have made 3 different buckets so far)… Albeit, I was working on to turning all my villagers to timebenders 😢
To fish the crabs was horrible. I had not often blue circles and when I had it was always a Tilapia. I fished nearly 5 hours each day to get 1 crab. With the carb was not that bad, but not fun too. I dont like fishing.
The crabs sucked. Crab, salmon, AND tilapia all spawn in the blue bubbles.
The thing I hate most about fishing now is - I'm currently working on my daughter's Star Path and I'm on the Herring quest.... It only comes from white bubbles at the beach, which is where the fishing buttons appear. So frustrating to get a button when you need a Herring!! I wish they created a new, special ripple for the button fishing, or maybe they could be fished in no ripple areas. So frustrating!!!
I finished the star path in 4 days, but two of those days were crab days. Very frustrating that you can’t potion yourself out of them.
I don't mind the fishing quests if there's multiple biomes or fishing spots to try. But blue fishing bubbles are so frustrating because we can't use the potion for them and sometimes the game just refuses to spawn a blue bubble. The shiny gem quests can be frustrating too. I would love to have more digging or farming tasks.
I also want more storyline quests, but I feel like everything we get in the game is always funny. There’s many things to do everyday, Star Path, friendship quests, timebending to get new machines (yesterday I was able to put the last vacuum in the valley so now I have one in every biom)… everything is welcome! 😂
I'm not sure why that person said only fishing for finding plastic. You can find plastic in other ways. I still think the clock was worse 😄 That's just my opinion. The ileostomy bags are absolutely fabulous!! Just need a way to have a wheelchair in game for me
The only game where I’ve enjoyed fishing is Stardew Velley. 😂 Lucky, I already had a ton of plastic from clearing the rocks and had more than enough.
I do love fishing in Dreamlight Valley but um , I just wish that the fishing would be more simpler.
So we can always hit the middle of the circle.
Plus also to make it more easier to get the Mists’s a lot more easier.
Also to get more designs from other players.
But also to be able to give our own designs to other players.
But also to get rid of the Moonstone Shop in the Main Menu , but to make a building for the Moonstones so we can get a lot more of it for everyday.
I enjoy fishing :) love it best in forgotten lands because you get loads coins for the fish there :)
I think people just want to see something other than fishing for a new task for A new event and a new star path a lot of the stuff involves fish in which does get boring after a certain amount of time. Fishing is fine once in a while but there’s always a fishing for a certain type of fish or fishing for crabs…etc….
Thats just an example it happened for everything they asked us to catch
I'm not a fan of fishing either - and we have to fish to get 80 blue buttons for the event village duty. The blue buttons are only given to me maybe in about one of 10 fishing attempts. Appears they love torturing their player base.

Fishing is pretty much not only slow, but very tedious =.=; Took over an hour just to catch 10 crabs...elixirs are so damn useless. They should create special lures to get a higher chance of catching certain fish. A nice collection of fishing lures I think would be a neat addition
Salmon sometimes shows up in the blue rings, but not as often as tilapia. Not to mention that blue rings are a little slow at appearing as well. Sure am glad that crab fishing is done..... =.=;
Im doing the Daisy Quests daily (even though im not interested in making stuff ) because I heard you need to buy the blanks in order to use someone elses designs. So ... just in case I see something someone made that I want I can get it lol.
The only problem is when they say catch bass and thats the only time there isnt any for two days
Why don't the friends bonus catches count for star path quests??? That bothers me so much. If I went through the effort of leveling up everyone and assigning certain jobs to certain characters, why doesn't their bonus count? 🙄
My fishing has been bugged for the last couple of months. It is much more sensitive than it used to be and I cannot get the timing right. So I hate fishing in the valley now.
Make your energy bar gold, it gives you a bit luck. Had finish the crab quest in 30 mins🙃
Rather fish than time bend. Don’t love either. But also on the other hand the crab duty took me days. And explosions were giving me other fish so that was frustrating also.
While the blue buttons were grindy it didn’t take me too long with 1 lvl 10 buddy. However, the specific star path fishing quests are ridiculous especially the crap one. I have 1 out of 10 or whatever it is and I’ve spent a decent about of time on it. I also don’t really enjoy the fishing either.
Honestly I am not really that hyped for the popcorn buckets, I thought they were gonna be a wearable item. I'm gonna try to get them but I might give uo😂
Not only is the cupcake quest broken for me (as it doesn’t register the quest anymore when I talk to someone and the purple icon stays) but I’m struggling to get both red buttons and blue buttons!
I BEEN SAYING FOEVER THAT WHY ISINT THERE "BAITS" OR SOMETHING SO IT WOULD BE EASIER TO FISH cuz its ridiculously large pool especially for "white ripple" or nothing

With Daisy's shop I've put all tags already in the shop. Maybe adjust some clothes everyday, ready in 1 min.
Am I the only one that doesn't mind fishing? 😅 I hate gardening so fishing for the here and there fish and making steak is my go to to make money, I get about 300k a day from it
If you have the expansion the Garden Machine is a game changer. You don't get the doubles but I was only using it as an automatic waterer, until I realized it digs the holes, plants the seeds, waters, and you can auto harvest as well.
Crabs is the worst. Tilapia you can also get in sunlit blue bubbles.
i dont mind Fishing to be honest but i just find DDLV chill in general.
also i see the grind as fine cause its better than paying like what ever the price is to pay out the star path everytime.
when ppl did miss the items sadly they are paying more than what they would have had to if they did the grind i know not everyone likes a grind but its worth it in the end in my honest opinion cause, you get items for a lot less.
i space out my companions i dont rush their quests i have all at Lvl 10 accept Mike, Sully, Daisy and Oswald i will get mike and Sully to ten closer to mulans release whether it be delayed or not.

I have 83,000 moonstones right now and I've never bought any outside of the ones that came with the DLC. I didn't even buy a founder's pack since I play the game on Xbox Game Pass. The reason I have so many is the game doesn't release stuff I want. My favorite movies, like The Emperor's New Groove and Zootopia, have no representation in the game. I also would like to buy some nice suits and mansion skins but the game focuses way too much on dresses and the only mansion they released was the haunted one covered in vines. Not exactly a skin for a fancy part of town.
I'm on PlayStation so I don't use touch of Magic at all. Decorating as hard enough. Forget trying to make anything custom
Oh I flew through the star path (fishing wasn’t fun) but left with this shiny amethyst task & sapphire task bc my vitalys mines have only been dropping rubies since this star path update and seriously lacking on onyx so can’t craft potions 💔 the grind in this game sometimes makes me glad I can ignore these tasks for another 3 weeks🤣

I think star path would be more fun if they made a few changes to the game like have daily dreamlight duties work like quests where you can click them and it just brings up a list of 6 duties that automatically checks off as you do them, have the cooking tasks at remys work like quest cooking tasks so we aren't looking for every single meal, have a fishing potion for the blue bubbles and have mining potion last longer
I really don't mind it because if I have extra either I can save it for recipes or sell it or eat it while working around the valley Y'all Stay Groovy ✌️😎
i cant complete the current event bc my ursula is glitching . I keep talking to her and she keeps telling me to bake cookies for her but it doesnt count as a quest and it still shows me that I didn't start her quest . I also have the talk to ursula quest from the star path and it also doesn't allow me to talk to her. I've had this problem for some days now and its really bugging me.
i dont mind fishing cause i just make the new characters fishing so now i fish to level them up as well two birds one stone i hate gardening so much i find holding a to harvest so boring im so glad for ancient machines
It took me 2 hrs to find a few certain/fish for star path no body has time for that ! I’ve not done daisy yet not in a hurry. Also trying to get 5 shiny gems with a buddy. It’s brutal. I still haven’t leveled jack, Olof,beast,Eric,stitch,. This game makes me fall asleep. I’m in a trance have the time.
Also i actually spent moonstone this time on the blue tokens because of the way they stagger the duties now. I liked it before when you could scroll and knock off the easy ones all at once and buy the items you want vs having to choose from the 6 on the page. Is it horrible that i also dont enjoy having to play with a character for 15-30 min? 🙈
You do realize you can also catch salmon on the other island too and it's a lot quicker 😂🤣

Today I got the broken metal sign for the first time. I’ve only got 6 and I’ve been doing alot of timebending. I’ve not gotten the lollipop yet either. I think people don’t get their items on the same days too.

If I was given the ability to remove one part of the game permanently, it would be fishing, I revile the task that much!
To me, it's virtual animal cruelty.
I would appreciate the mechanic more if we got to keep the caught fish as pets or release the unwanted fish back into the ocean.
I even put the ones I wanted most as pets into the acquarium storage container, which unfortunately, didn't do anything special except hold the fish.
Also, fishing reminds me of that Goofy movie that caused me so irritation.
I actually love fishing. And if I'm leveling up a character while I can also get the here and there fish...I'm also making money lol...in my opinion win win....
