This was my ex gf all time favourite song. After months and months of battling depression she gave in and slit her wrists. It's been two years. Everytime I hear this song I cant help but think about her. Please get help if you ever feel like theres no other option.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Someone very close to me attempted suicide and for some reason I went over to his house and found him..... I thank God everyday that I went there and was able to prevent a loss that I would've never been able to recover from. My heart goes out to you.

Sometimes it can be difficult but I think it tends to rely on the other person saying they need help. In January I nearly died but a friend, my sister helped me and a group of teenagers rang for an ambulance for me, but I think I conveyed the right message.
When someones mind goes that dark they have already decided their fate. There is nothing you could have done to make a difference. Use your memories of them to make a difference in other lives who are heading in that direction.

I've listen to every version...studio, live, etc...but none have come close to the incredible emotion expressed on this particular one...its just absolutely MAGNIFICENT..... the very very best of what real vocal music is about. My friend commited suicide a few weeks back and this song has never been more clear. Wish me and the boys could of been there to help him. My father is termially ill, amongst his many health issues are Parkinsons and Dementia. I often sit and hope to get a moment with him, when he's lucid, to chat, this song means a lot to me...

My dad had said several times over the past couple of days that he saw his uncle Alec, and that Alec was 'waiting for him'. His uncle Alec had died 36 years earlier, but was the closest male relative he had to a father, someone whom he admired greatly, as his own father died when he was 7 years old.
On Friday my dads cousin visited, my dad did not recognise him (because of the dementia), so he showed my dad a picture on his mobile phone. He asked my dad if he recognised the person in the picture, "Alec Fraser" said my dad (it was a picture of his uncle), my dad smiled the biggest of smiles, then fell asleep, and he never woke up, he died on the Saturday morning.
The visitor was 'young Alec', my dads cousin and his uncle Alec's son, he just came to see my dad out of the blue.

This track has always resonated with me and this acoustic version really shows his pure emotion as he’s lost a friend years ago sooo tragic. I’ve suffered for years from depression and suicidal ideation but this song has helped me heaps.
I just found out about 4 hours ago that my partner’s neighbour had committed suicide and I spoke to him on Friday. It just shows that you never know what someone is going through and it’s just fortunate that my partner’s car broke down this morning, otherwise he wouldn’t have been there to at least try to do CPR. I turned straight to this song in his memory as the word’s and emotions are soo raw and touching when you need it.

I lost my brother to suicide...I didn’t know where he was...not sure if I could’ve saved him but I would’ve done anything to try. Sometimes this pain is unbearable but I have kids to live for and music like this to get me through one day at a time

O heard this song some years back, i was a heroin and crack cocaine user. I was in prison and my brother died, i went to the funeral in handcuffs, getting back into the taxi handcuffed to teo prison officers, this song came on the radio, i cried my eyes out, something about the power in his voice, it made me very sad when ever i heard it.
After being 9 years clean from drugs and alcohol, i can listen to this song and feel true emotions.
