Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted to learn, now that our Shelter Logic cover is torn-up; it lasted at least three years, so not bad but time to make it permanent. Thank you for the tutorial, screw hole mishaps and all!
Sweet! I thought I was the only re-purposing bastard out there...thanks for doing the hard part - my super-shelter-eco-logic is destined for my tiny home machine shop...great job! 🤙
Have the screws backed out of the pipe from movement at all ? I've been thinking of doing this and maybe using PL400 or something to help hold the metal sheets to the pipes and help keep the screws from backing out. Thoughts ?
Thanks for doing this video. I have a 10x10 shed and was wondering about cladding it with something strong, as I also get a lot of snow in the winter. So far I’ve been going out after the snow storms and taking the snow off with a long handled floor broom. Like you said, eventually the UV rays will ruin the cover anyway, so I want to get it done as soon as I can. I not getting any younger.🙃
Thanks for the video, David. I have a 12 x 25 and the middle has ripped from stem to stern. This is a great solution for repair and a longer lasting shelter for our boat. May I please know where you obtained the corrugated aluminum? I'm in Ontario.
Hi, thanks alot It has served me very well. We have a local Mennonite distributor where I purchased it. It was much cheaper than big box suppliers and they custom cut.
how do you stop condensation on the ceiling? I did this and in the winter there is so much condensation dripping from the ceiling I cant keep anything dry.
Hello there. I haven't ran into than problem here but if you install a vent on front and back the airflow will likely help regulate the temperature and reduce condensing.
I have a large Quonset shop and condensation was an issue. To combat this you will need a radiant barrier on the inside, but you need an air gap of 1/2” or so between the building metal and your radiant barrier. This air pocket will regulate the temp of the metal to be more consistent stopping most of the condensation.
Nice easy renovation for the shelter logic. I too have done same but have a bigger one I'm thinking of cladding with milled boards. Has yours had any significant snow fall on it yet ? Great content and you've earned yourself another sub 😄
Hi there thanks alot for the sub, aswelli subbed to your channel and look forward to watching. I haven't had any heavy snow on it yet but I am installing a pole in the center just incase. My neighbor has 2 big ones and they've held up really well.
@@offgridDAVID thats great to know. We've had snow on ours before but we dont get the figures you guys get. Hoping it will be rigid enough, been watching another guy on youtube and he braced his with 3x2s or 4x2s to add some rigidity. Anyways, great content buddy and appreciate the sub.
I did this with a harbour freight 10x17 put it on a framed floor and covered it with 8' and 12' 28ga galvanized sheets 😂 stood up to 4 northern Michigan winters

Haha thankyou. Heck no I repurpose where ever possible. This super logic is still as strong as it was when built I'm quite happy with it.

@@steveg1122 Hello there, no they haven't at all. It's still very solid and doesn't leak. Has served me quite well
@@steveg1122 I have very high winds and heavy snow loads. Its still doing great 👍 .

Haha no are not my friend. I put a center post in for the winter months . I had 3 ft of snow on it and help up fine. No leaks
great job, have you heard about burning the wood a little and putting used motor oil with diesel mix to keep it from rotting.
@@otrotland5377 I've researched the wood burning preservative method and believe it would work great.
You can add some metal studs as supports in the ceiling.

I could not tell the size of your shed and how many panels it took. Great job and great idea.
Hi and thankyou friend . So it's 8ft wide by 10 long. It took 7 panels at 3ft wide and 12ft long to have a foot over hang on each end.

Plastic on floor, gotta keep moisture out also and vents
Only thing I don't like are the sharp edges pointing out... I wonder if you can cut them flush and put some kind of L flashing over the corners.
My friend did that and it seemed to work fine
Did you use self tappers to screw into the frame?
@@heffptbo hello 👋 yes I used 1"1/4" roofing sheet metal screws. They went in no problem.
@offgridDAVID great video..I will do this next time!
@@heffptbo Thanks for tuning in. Once the first sheets up it's smooth sailing.
What is the best way to anchor this down?
Hi. I used 4 full sand bags ber side and it has never moved an inch. I placed them on the bottom support inside.
@@offgridDAVID Thank you.
You know shelter logic sells different covers at different price points. The standard one you get with it is only another 300 to replace. 4:30

Ya let me waste a week’s worth of grocery money for another shitty tarp that will die in under 6 months too

@@offgridDAVID update on how it held the snow?
@@brucewebber3412 hi. It held up great. I put a post in the center and had no movement or leaks . I was really impressed.
I need to do that to mine
I'm quite impressed that after 4 years it's still working great 👍
I was going to do something like but the cost for the cover was way to high, in the $1,000.

Call shelter logic. They will sell you a new tarp for that model

Glad you didn't get into that.....how about the price of plywood now???? FFS!!!

I will never buy another one
