By chance, one of my first destroyer lines that I played was the European ones. Playing without smoke was a fantastic way to learn to disengage and to also use my guns on a destroyer and not solely rely on torps. I think that playing without smoke right off the bat made me a better player in the smoke destroyers. When newer players ask me what to play first in the destroyer lines I always recommend the non-smoke ones first now and why.
I started with the US DDs. Made it to tier VI. Gave up. 4 months later went to the French DDs, still have Tier VII ( best DD Games i have had yet ). Thrn explored European DDs and love them! Tier IX now. May go back to the other lines. I have been a BB and Cruiser main for years; good insight here for a newer DD player! ericjw1991 = NA server
Just got the Öland, I feel slower and weaker than the other dds, once I am spotted it’s over for me. I am really trying to understand how to play this ship, it’s not easy.

As I have said numerous times, WOOKIE is not just a pretty face, he is also a very good player too.

Yah i hear you. try just staying alive but in the action and pick your moments to strike and then hide.
Oland is rough. I pretty much run and torp in it. Only open fire in defense or when it's safe. If you can't wait for t9
@@InarusLynx yeah I ended up maxing it out to Halland, its so much fun. Just not playing a lot anymore because every game has 5 dds all the time
