As a long term Sheltonian enthusiast, who has read & practiced Natural Hygiene techniques than most, it is my understanding that in addition to a plethora of lab values there are also numerous body assessments that can determine the end of a fast & prevent starvation. The body signs that need careful monitoring for a successful fast include: clear eyes, clear skin, clear regular bowel movements that require no toilet paper, true genuine hunger not false hunger & a myriad of other body assessments as supervised by an experienced fasting supervisor such as provided at True North.

Dr Goldhammer makes a lot of sense. Just like we can't fast forever, we can't follow fasting mimicking diets forever like carnivore and keto. We need long term lifestyle solutions. Whole food plant based diets (especially SOS-free ones) work extremely well for the entire lifespan. Also, boy am I glad I'm not addicted to caffeine!

I fasted at home with dr gershfeld... and i had read a lot over the past few years... i prepped on my own, i followed his advice. I made almost 5 days. it was one of the best things i've done. i dumped the caffeine first, still off it 8 months later! blood pressure has normalized. my eating isn't perfect, but it's better. my ultimate goal is true north. One day. :) I did the labs and dr gershfeld and i spoke every day.
Can we see the same effects with intermittent fasting? If we get our bodies into the Autophagy stage? Can we ask next time for Dr. Goldhamer to talk about autophagy and the rules and benefits of getting into this stage and how long we need to stay there for benefit? Thank you AJ ❤
Plantain seeds are where psylium comes from....more medicinal than nutritional in my experience. Imo fresh aloe is a little more food grade for moving bowels.
This guy sounds tired as hell from doing his water fast water fasting for longer than a day a year is probably not gonna be beneficial focusing on just not eating the crappy foods that are full of fat and focusing on the fruit and low-fat carbs and building is high level of fitness. You can give you much better than starving yourself reducing your vitality, Carbs FTW!! 💪💪💪
You appear to be ignorant of Natural Hygiene which is all about physical fitness & knowing the difference between fasting & starvation as completely different & is why proper supervision is required.
