I can't get over how much I looove your reviews and your channel. I hope your growth continues exponentially, you deserve it!! Thank you for another in depth review ❤
Hi, I'm so glad I found your channel, it's been about two years now since I started watching and now I'm a massive atelier fan. Thank you Ircha for introducing me to a great series of games. I hope you are well, take care and have a nice day.
I'm honestly surprised at how massive the scope of this game is so far. It may end up being my favorite game in the series. The semi open world suits this series very well, and future games should be designed like this too.
This game looks like the perfect game for me. I'm so hyped to play it soon! I'm still playing Atelier Lydie & Suelle at the moment, but when I'm done with it, I will play Ryza 3. I loved the other Ryza games. Great video! Thank you for your first impressions!
I have not picked this game up, since I just picked up the first two. I wanna start from the beginning so I understand the world and characters the best I could! Then I will definitely play this one!
Sometimes I see some of your videos popping up for games I had no idea about, and I just love how your "reviews" are pretty much a conversation about something that you enjoyed. You dont really give an overview of the game or the series as you would expect from a journalist or reviewer but thats alright because we can get the jist of the game by watching the video itself and then get curious to go looking for it. I say this because I often find game reviews very boring and not really entertaining, but I could include your videos alongside a list of reviewers I seriously enjoy, with Derek from the extinct CGR Undertow as my favorite one.
I'm so much enjoying the game. 22 hours in and I'm still not even done with the 2nd region! I'm playing on PC, and definitely turned DoF setting off right away. Looking forward to finishing the game (no rush though) and witness the conclusion of this story.
I’m about 20 hours in and WOW the map(s) are HUGE 😳 it took me 2 days irl days to unlock all the landmarks for the 2nd region. Haven’t even explored all of the first one, much less the following regions after the 2nd one 😂 I’m genuinely impressed with the scope of the game. I really hope Gust brings this forward to their future titles. This is basically every exploration gamers’ dream 🫢 also, surprisingly the Switch version is much more stable than the Steam Deck version (I had to refund that one and buy the Switch version instead).
Im playing it on the PS5 and it's a blurry mess. The DOF (Depth Of Field) is ridiculous, it starts to blur about five feet in front of you and then distance is a complete blur. There is a patch coming out to fix it soon apparently. Also, really miss the English voice over, having to read the tiny text constantly is a pain, especially during battles, I miss orders constantly.
I double dipped for all three games Collectors editions on the Switch, regular versions on the ps4 platinumed the first 2, working on the last one now. one of my favorite series ever
I love this game, im always jumping back on the game , i love that about it, such a chill game. That says a lot coming from 30 year old dude who jst started gaming. I have Xenoblade 3 , Fire Emblem Engage, Octopath Traveler II & this is the only one ive been continuously playing non stop💯 I hope you do an update on this game once you are done with it!🙏🏽
I got Ryza 1 because you brought the series to my attention Irene + my growing interest in rpg games. Haven’t really given it a fair chance but it felt somewhat confusing. This game looks great too but it’s going to have to wait until my backlog shrinks a bit and I play play part 1. Enjoy your moment!!
I'm playing it on Steam and to me it's clear it's the best Ryza game gameplay-wise. The graphics look fantastic too. Fell in love with the series thanks to how low stakes the story was. Most RPG's have a grand and epic story and Ryza was just trying to save her island not the whole world and I really appreciated that. I think more jrpg fans should look into the series as is surprisingly very enjoyable.
I wanna play these games one day. I own 1 and 2 on both PS4 and Steam, plus a sealed collectors edition of Atelier Ryza 2 on Switch. I mainly bought them because I thought Ryza was cute lol 😅
I've been taking my time with Ryza 3. I've had it since release night. I bought it on Switch as well (I get hour long breaks at work so I have to kill that time somehow). So far, I am liking it. Like you, I am not really a fan of the key system though. I am more of a fan of Atelier's classic turn-based combat. It might be because I am old school, or the fact that the Mysterious games are my favorite (mainly due to the fact that I like the tetris-style alchemy). Other than the key system, I am enjoying exploring the vast world. I am off from work for the next 2 days so I can use that time to play some more Ryza 3 :)
Getting 2 Atelier games in 1 year again is crazy! I got Ryza 3 for Switch, but I'll get the remake of Marie for PS5 (I want more physical games for that system, lol). Hopefully it lives up to the standards of modern gamers, being a PS1 game originally.
hey Ircha! thanks for this review - i saw this game for sale where i live and i was curious about it. now seeing your review, it reminds me a bit of games like Ys VIII and the Tales series. I'm intrigued!
I'm glad the combat reflects Ryza 1 - the combat in this series is pretty much my favourite ever, anywhere. Thanks for this review!! This is definitely on my list to get this year.
Are you referring to Switch OLED used as portable or the Switch Light? I have no issues with Switch Light. Smooth performance so far, like 10 hrs in too.
@@ircha yes that font is eyesore haha. You know what is the most I liked from your review? That you do not want to give a final score yet. That is the right way to do it, I have read many reviews in the past and recently from people who probably touched a game 2 hours and they think they can give a final full review and I played that particular game for example and I ended up seeing how bad and misleading their review was. Keep it up, I like your style.
I also LOVE how massive the map is as exploring is the best part of the game. The key systems began with a feeling of 'this is lame and the key helped very little', but once the Pristine key is in the play the key is a lot more fun and useful. The traversing system has lots of room for improvement tho. The map is big and sometimes it is a bit hard to select where I want to go. Plus there are lots of places the barrier is visually low but you just cannot jump over them which becomes annoying.
Is there anything game changing in the special editions? All the extra stuff brings it up to $163CAD after tax. I dont care for cosmetics much but if there was any gear that affected combat I might be interested. Im not so quick on the reflexes any more so any bit helps.
Lately for me I've been kind of taking a break on the switch, haven't been playing it much with all the good games coming out on PS5 but once the new zelda comes out I'm definitely playing more switch
I still haven't buy it yet, is the gathering system still flawed? I remember in Ryza 2 it was a pain to gather materials because you had so few space in your inventory and so much crafting materials to collect. I constantly needed to get back home and store my items multiple times per map
Never played these games, but I'm always interested I know my friend will love them and I plan on getting them some 3 packs of these games. I want to play too but I play 20 hour rpgs like 300 hour rpgs, so anything that actually takes long...
You make me so excited to try these games!! I got 1 and 2 so far bc of you (for PS5) and I want to play them, but I need to finish Xenoblade 3 first and then Probably Tears of the Kingdom😂 Happy gaming Ircha!
heres an interesting question , do you know which crowd sells the atelier series west these years i use to buy them of nisa but now i just dont know who sells the Limiteds and regular versions of the games.
@Ircha Gaming no worries I just realised koei tecmo actually do sell them on their site I think I was looking at the US site and they probably don't sell them on site
first Atelier game for me, the main thing was not knowing how to track down materials, leveling up gathering first is basically is mandatory and I didn't know
Haven’t played any Atelier games and was wondering if I should start with this one. Your review was excellent in helping me come to a decision! Thanks for the awesome review!
I always make sure to check out your Atelier reviews. I have the PS5 version and haven't had any issues. I can understand the preference for the Switch version though. So far I'm really enjoying the game. I agree they could have done more with the key system. I think they're most useful for synthesis and improving items. Also aside from the reused music from Ryza 1, I was hoping for a better soundtrack. Ryza 2's soundtrack is my second favorite after Ayesha. I love what they did with the battle system and also agree on Bos' character development; I enjoy having him in my party for combat as well.
Portability, i like playing it on my Gazebo drinking my coffee. And i can play some Modern Warfare or Elden Ring on my Xbox Series, but yeah portability my guy… its an adult thing.
I heard of this series rising popularity and will watch first game play through before buying Ryza 2, I was top swimsuit dlc is separated but I’m not sure about summer adventure outfits for Ryza 2 and 3 among other dlc so someone please tell me.
As man that jst truned 30 and just got my first switch light for the first time, ive been had it for almost 6 months, ive gotten every new game for nintendo up to date and i gotta say this is my favorite so far😂 and it feel funny to say bcus its such a girly looking game but the combat is so smooth n badass👍🏽 i agree with everything you say, especially the cons, if they fixed the issues you mentioned it would make it my favorite game , next to Elden Ring, so much fun💯
How do you heal your chracters when you battle the enemies on Altier Ryza 3, I barely started battling and Ryza was close of being defeated. Would be so horrible if its game over when she loses and if you can use the guys to defeat the bad guys.
You have to create and equip healing items and use them in battle. You need CC points to use items and you get that from doing some skills moves first. ☺️ "dry biscuit" is an early healing item to equip under "battle preparation" in the menu ✌️
@@ircha Thank you. They make it hard. I collect a lot but probably no food stuff. I did my 1st battle. I would say that I found enemies I should find many food items to create so I can have stuff to heal every moment about to die.
Can you tell me how the synthesizing system is compared to Lulua's? I was at a point in Lulua where I had to synthesize a better axe(?) and I just coudn't figure it out and gave up... I really didn't understand how synthesizing worked and therefore I'm kinda "scared" to try other Atelier games.
Oddly, (I don't know this series), this version of the game is a possible game of the year nomination? My question is, is the $100.00 some odd cost for the Ultimate edition worth it? This makes the game more expensive than Tears of the Kingdom! Thanks again for another wonderful review! Would spending $100.00 for the Ultimate edition make up for the slight negative aspects of the Switch version?
She is like Stephen King in where she is very good with the details thats what i like about her reviews. Also id like to say her recomendations are solid. Thanks Irene you rock!
Am still not sure which one I should get first (Ryza 1, 2 or 3, or an entirely different Atelier game) when I haven't played any Ateliers before. When there are so many games, it's difficult to navigate
@@Sonnebirke even if I would get 1 Ryza game? Not sure if I will love it and would play all 3 of them. Or would you say Ryza 2 is better if you only (may) pick 1?
I bought ryza 2 day 1, despite thinking 1 was okay, and I still haven't finished it even though I'm close to the end. I'm excited to try out Ryza 3 and I hope the combat is easier to get into than 2 and I'm glad they finally included Bos in the party (he was my favorite character in 1 due to his character growth and ironically, I didn't like Ryza until the ending portion where she becomes more mature)
I decided to start on ryza 2 because it’s on sale right now. I think it’s an amazing game I love fi he’s so cute. I did get a little confused at first where I should be but I just check my quest log. ITs such a wholesome game.
Game looks amazing but the biggest turn off in the whole Ryza series is the battle system! I like the turn base 1 at a time battle system more! 😭 but amazing video! ❤️ love you!
Ircha Gaming, does Atelier Ryza 3 have English speaking mode, or do the characters only speak in Japanese? I've never played any of those Atelier Ryza games, but I was considering of buying this one as it looks really good! The other RPG'S I have are Rune Factory 5, Tales Of Vesperia, Persona 4 Golden & Dragon Quest XI: Elusive Of Ages. Plus I'm intending on eventually buying Hogwarts Legacy & Genshin Impact. Currently am well preoccupied with Animal Crossing New Horizons, which when I finish it, I'll be resuming back on Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition as I've got at least another 2,500 to go yet as I've already invested 1000 hours into that.
I bought this one for PS5 and it looks amazing. I use the remote play feature with my SteamDeck so I can play it anywhere inside my house 10/10 would recommend ❤
Love the channel and have been watching for a long time. Pease don't fall into click bait titles though by putting "honest opinions or honestly think". I see TH-camrs do it all the time to say "I'm honest, you can trust me, but the fact is that if someone is going to lie (although I don't know why an opinion on games would need to be a lie anyway) then they are more likely to try to convince you that they are being honest, by including it in there wording. Someone who is just genuinely honest doesn't go around telling people that they can be trusted.
You know it's a good game when a person decides they want to take it slow to be able to enjoy it fully at their leisure. I'm still going through Sophie. Maybe I'll get Ryza after on the PS5 instead of the switch.
Always appreciate a sequel where the mc doensn't start from zero. In DBZ Legacy of Goku II when you finally unlock Goku he is lvl 20 something. That game caps at 50, and so when you start as him in (a game that caps at 150 (I think)) Buu's Fury he starts at 64.
I play it on the ps5 and it is sooo smooth! I don’t like the way it blurs out when you get further away from something but I am enjoying it nonetheless
I've tried only one other game in the Atelier series, briefly so, Nelke and the Legendary Alchemist, but due to the town sim aspect of that game, gave up on it. As for Ryza games in the series, I just started with Ryza 3. Would want to try the first two, but noticed they're freaking expensive.
That you tried the spinoff rather than a mainline entry is saddening. Edit: and the Atelier series tends to be expensive in general until a dx collection comes out that has all games in a specific subseries with all its accompanying DLC. Said collections usually run about 80 USD
@@RaifSeverence Give me a break, I didn't even know the series existed until they advertise the spin off. I'm mainly a Dragon Quest, Fire Emblem player with a few in Legend of Heroes, Phantasy Star, Senran Kagura, and the one Bullet Girls Phantasia.
I have the first one and I can't wait to get to the 2nd. I need to actually play the first though lol. One of the best looking games visually I have ever seen. I do play on PC so that helps.
This game picked me up right away in the first few hours of play. And I played the first two Atelier Ryzas too. But I think especially the first one had too generic and slow fights and storytelling was too long. And I love how many quality of life changes the devs made. Literally no loading screens, fast and diversified gameplay. The world seems to be incredibly huge. It really feels like the BotW of Atelier. And I believe I'm still in the beginning of the game. 😊
Well I have all 3 on the ps5. 1 was just for the ps4, 2 has a ps5 version, and 3 I believe is just ps5? They all are just beautiful on the ps5 except 2 gets a bit choppy. If you change the resolution to 1080p then it goes away.
Wow, that frame drop in the hand held captured footage looks worse than scarlet & violet 🫣 in those games, at least the player had a steady frame rate, Ryza running in that clip looked so static-y. What’s the game length like for these titles btw?
I've enjoyed your Atelier reviews and videos for years! I have to say I like Ryza 2's gameplay better than 3. I feel like it's easy to abuse the alchemy system in 3, and the keys are too gacha to be of reliable use.
So happy to see a first impressions video for Ryza 3. I cant imagine a new Atelier game without an Ircha Gaming video to get me hyped
I can't get over how much I looove your reviews and your channel. I hope your growth continues exponentially, you deserve it!! Thank you for another in depth review ❤

@@Sonnebirke even if I would get 1 Ryza game? Not sure if I will love it and would play all 3 of them. Or would you say Ryza 2 is better if you only (may) pick 1?
You can't go wrong with any of the Ryzas. My personal favorite is still Ryza 2.
At 0:14 are you playing it docked on a pc monitor?
Plugged in to switch, no dock, to portable monitor that was my sponsor in my previous video 👍
@@ircha Thanks ill check it out :)
The Atelier queen is back with another great video.
Ryza 2 is my favourite atelier game so far
Mine too! 😁 So far!
I decided to start on ryza 2 because it’s on sale right now. I think it’s an amazing game I love fi he’s so cute. I did get a little confused at first where I should be but I just check my quest log. ITs such a wholesome game.
I liked Ryza 1's story more than Ryza 2, but i liked Ryza 2's gameplay more
Game looks amazing but the biggest turn off in the whole Ryza series is the battle system! I like the turn base 1 at a time battle system more! 😭 but amazing video! ❤️ love you!
Looking forward to this. Just waiting on my physical copy in the mail. According to my tracking number, it's stuck in customs, which is not unusual.
You can pet cats and dogs, and ride dolphins?
I'm sold.
Do you think it's ok to start with Ryza 2?
Absolutely! 😍
Me gonna try to wait for a DX pack of the secret series but I think this will come in a year or 2 on the next gen console
I play it on the ps5 and it is sooo smooth! I don’t like the way it blurs out when you get further away from something but I am enjoying it nonetheless
I have been thinking about grabbing this one. It looks so similar to Genshin Impact. Is this any way related, I was not sure.
First Time here.... Her Voice is amazing, and then oh she adds the Visual 😅. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I have the first one and I can't wait to get to the 2nd. I need to actually play the first though lol. One of the best looking games visually I have ever seen. I do play on PC so that helps.
Ive Just bought Atelier Ryza 3 Is def The best game in the series easily!
This was a great review! I love your stuff! I wonder if you need to play Ryza 2 as it seems to reference the first game more. What's your opinion?
i cant wait to dive in to it
im waiting my game still :D plat both games will do it 3rd time
I forgot this game was a thing but thanks for the review.
BOS IS NOW A PARTY MEMBER THAT MADE ME HAPPY
Me too!!
Looks like a great game! I haven't played the first two but, I have them so I might as well get this one too! Haha.
Looking forward to your final review.
Keep playing, it's keeps getting better. I'm about 30hrs in
Wow, that frame drop in the hand held captured footage looks worse than scarlet & violet 🫣 in those games, at least the player had a steady frame rate, Ryza running in that clip looked so static-y. What’s the game length like for these titles btw?
Have you beat this game yet? I am curious of a full review since you hadn't beat the game when this video was posted. BTW I love your videos ❤
Nope I never finished it
I've enjoyed your Atelier reviews and videos for years!
I have to say I like Ryza 2's gameplay better than 3. I feel like it's easy to abuse the alchemy system in 3, and the keys are too gacha to be of reliable use.
Ryza 2 is still the BEST 👍
