NZKZ Quests were very cool, because of the different topics they'd touch on, man I wish certain world quests were voiced
1:44:14 I don't see this brought up much but the story of the mage-priest Caterpillar talks about here is directly referencing Borges' The Circular Ruins,
which is regularly interpreted as being about the author function, but also regularly referenced in discussions about tulpamancy (yes, like hydro tulpa).
Borges in general sees regular reference in Fontaine (like Garden of Forking Paths in "Time Trekker"), which is unsurprising given the game's greater
references to Kabbalism, Gnosticism, and in this case, Rosicrucianism (which Borges has also written about).
The other big literary reference in this quest is to Les Mis - Lanoire (or Skylark) is named after Cosette (or Lanoire, or Lark).
One charitable interpretation of this quest series is that Caterpillar plays the role Valjean, whose original journey of self-actualization from time in
prison and caring for Cosette/Lanoire after the death of Agnes/Fantine is given a modernist reinterpretation to being about the actualization of his
own existence and humanity despite being conceived by somebody else, very much like in the Borges short story.

Funnily enough, i just learned that Seymour is a reference to Futurama, where Fry (the protagonist) had a dog of the same name.
The episode, named 'Jurassic Bark', also has 4ACV07 as its production number, wich is Seymour's real name/ serial number.

Caterpillar is a very interesting npc. It even made me wonder if the Hilichurls can be like him since all Hilichurls were cursed by Celestia and we saw how Caribert he became self aware after he was given by a small power of the abyss. Caterpillar was also given by abyssal power by jakob and can take on a human form
The difference is that Care Bear died the moment he took his mask off, while Cater somehow survived (I imagine using some "water contains emotions" shenanigans).

Obviously you know not only butterflies emerge from caterpillars, moths do as well. Not sure bees do, so i consider Weedle as a larvae rather than a caterpillar. Burmy is one, although i'm not really sure what the heck Wormadam is supposed to be, never seen a 'bagworm'.
And the way hilichurls are designed resembles more like moths than butterflies (their poofy hair reminds me of fairy moths, wich i find lovely, and are prettier than butterflies. Not to mention the Rogue's cape reminds me of a moth's wing. Many ppl dislike moths tho. Are they pests? I always liked them lol)
Also, i'd love for Hoyo to bring old buddies as either some kind of 'battle companion' like Bangboos or just as NPCs you can chat in the teapot

NZKZ quest like is so gooood. My only gripe is why the hell would Rizzley allow this one guard take control of the whole Fortress and activate a bunch of Gardemecks just to catch a kid. Oh, speaking of the kid... Did they really just allow the kid to live in there???

He kinda did by basically allowing the prison break to happen. He let Estienne off lightly while Noailles got fucked
Wriothesley confuses me. They compliment him for being very capable and trustworthy then there are cults abandoned children running around Meropide.
You can say he allows it until things get messy but leaving a child and not even trying to contact her family outside for years is just unacceptable. This after they shown him especially being sympathetic towards children in his teaser feels very inconsistent to his character.
Personally, I feel like “Cater” being “Carter” feels a little cheap. I know you’re a fan of “coincidences” like this, but I personally am not.
So eh I just found out his name isn’t Carter cuz that’s what I’ve been calling him this entire time
