Mauryze Brug Imperial is confusing, that is why I use metric. I was just saying that whenever i look on the internet, which is usually international, I've only seen the periods as decimals.
+David Dutye oh yea, I actually follow them. Don't know what became of that Global peace 747SP that was a China Airlines that had a near plane crash in 1985.
I'm lucky enough to work on both of these aircraft. The A380 is by far the better aircraft in every measurable way. But for me, the 747 still looks the best and is the fastest passenger jet in the world. Head says A380 Heart says 747
No, its the fastest. The 747-8 is the fastest, the 747-400 is the second fastest and the A380 comes in third. www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travel-truths/which-passenger-jet-plane-flies-the-fastest/
I flew in Emirates from Dubai to JFK in an A380. Loved the quietness in the cabin. I could sleep for 7-8 hours without getting disturbed. Apart from that the seat recline is truly a comfort. Another flight from Boston to Dubai was a nightmare. It was a 777-300ER . Not a true comparison, however, I could not sleep even for an hour in 777. Excited to my next flight in June in A380 Emirates. I am going to choose A380 always for long haul flights. Unbelievable experience. :)
I agree with most of the opinions offered in this video but, when aesthetics are concerned, the 747 line has the most pleasing shape. Flight engineers and pilots the world over have said time and again that the 747 looks like it is meant to fly. No airbus plane garners such praise in my experience, or online. The 747-8 is the most beautiful jumbo jet ever built; graceful and lithe, despite its size. The a340-600 is a nice plane, but it is a flying cigar, just like most other large passenger jets.
Just a tiny remark is that I think the A380 is still a beautiful bird as well as the B747-8. They are both beautiful and gracious and love them both... and love to watch them fly.. I have never flown the A380 but I will soon, I hope.. take care.. and thanks for the video...
I love that you said "besides the A340-600, the 747-8i is the most beautiful airplane out there"!!! Totally agree....and exceptional video as always!! :)
Really nice comparaison ! Thanks for sharing your experince with these 2 heavies ! :D You did a great job ! I will fly with them this summer (: Big like from me !
Agreed, Travelled on the A380 many times and loved it, have never been on the 747-8i. I recently had a long haul flight on a refurbished BA 747-400 in club world and have to say that I was impressed. Two great aircraft, always feel safe with the multiple redundancies in both airframes.
The ceiling height of the A380 is actually the same as the 747-8i, unlike what you said in the video. If you stand in the aisle, you'll find that the height is indeed the same. What makes it seem like it's shorter is the bin design. The A380 has a differently designed bin than the 747-8, which is spans the width of three seats instead of two. It also doesn't fold down like the 747-8's. However, the 747-8's has a slightly higher capacity, and it's also much easier to put a heavier bag in since it folds down lower instead of staying up there. But, as you said, the differently designed bin means that when at the window-seat, taller people can't stand up all the way (in the middle section of the aircraft, the bins are higher and allow people to stand even when sitting in the middle two seats of the aircraft). However, it makes it easier to reach flight attendant or light buttons while sitting, so people not as tall as you can reach them comfortably, if not accessible by an IFE remote. All in all, it's all about trade-offs, and know that the bin design is TOTALLY UP TO THE AIRLINE, which means that Lufthansa is not offering consistent bins, and it's not the manufacturer's deciding for them. I'd personally prefer having more bin space and being able to lift bags into the bins easily, but the A380 does offer a nice spacious-like feel due to the illusion of being more spacious. It's a constant battle on function vs form, and it's pretty subjective (especially when a taller or shorter person). Based on the video I assume you prefer the A380's bins, is that correct? I'd like to hear other people's feelings on this too. Mikael
Flew the A380 on BA in Business Class and Premium Economy. Amazing experience in both classes. Very quiet and comfortable flights in the ugliest aircraft in use today. Proof that a double decker bus will fly if given large enough engines. Also flew the 747-400 on same trip in both Business & Premium Economy. Would love to tryout the 747-8 but BA does not use them. Service on BA was the same on both aircraft. Even though BA's 747-400's interiors are dated and a little dingy they were still comfortable but less so than the A380. Agree the A380 is a must for everyone to try but the 747 with her gorgeous curves and lines still exudes class and will forever be the Queen of the Skies.
I personally think the 747-8 is much better for the following reasons: 1. The 747 is more adapted to today's airports considering the plane's age and the A380 is simply too big in my opinion. 2: The 747 is a better freighter than the A380 (if there ever will be one) 3. She is safer than the A380. Most 747 hull losses were because of pilot error very few involved aircraft flaws. Feel free to either agree or disagree on this comment
Well, this is a good video, a simple comparison. I think that the A380 is great. But, not that i'm a boeing fan, i'm not, I think the B747-8 is better. It just has a better feel to it. Cockpit wise and for actually flying it, The A380 looks very easy to fly. Most of the flight controls are run by the onboard computers. The B747-8 is more of a pilot flown aircraft, which I like. The A380 has the side stick, the B747-8 has the traditional yoke. The A380 cockpit is definitely bigger, there are even pull out tray tables. The B747-8 is a more "organized" layout. Its tough to say, But if I had the chance to fly one, I'd pick the B747-8. Dan, I like the American B767, thanks for the quick shot of it :)
Airbus has the side stick. Boeing has the yoke. The only Airbus aircrafts that had yokes were the A300 and the A310. They had yokes because Fly By Wire control didn't exist back then.
The way I see it is that European companies have always attempted to out perform US companies by introducing something "special". For example, why fly a 747 when you could thunder down the sky with the Concorde? Now it's, why buy a 747 when you can seat a few more people on the A380? The A380 is nice and all, but the new 747-8 is going to do it, but maybe in a few years airlines will only buy twin engine airliners? If that's the case, then Boeing will definitely win.
Total orders 747-8: 84 (56 of which are the cargo version) Total orders A380: 153 (all passenger) Even even when adding up the orders of the 747-8i and 747-8F orders, the number is only about half that of the A380. And considering the fact that the A380 does not have a cargo option (maybe it will in the future) but still has gathered twice the orders is a pretty clear message... You can have all the personal bias, the decision that actually matters is the one of the Airlines, since they they don't act as "fanboys/-girls" but make an objective decision. In the end we should all be glad that Boeing and Airbus have this fierce competition going on and compete in every segment of the market... If one of the 2 ever was to win this "fight" then the winner would be free to dictate prices and that would be bad for everyone... Passengers and Airlines alike.
Colin Lorbach Thank you! Also, when the Airbus fans bring out the "safety record" card, they seem to fail to understand that Boeing is much older than Airbus. If anything, all those accidents have made the Boeing 747 the amazing aircraft it is today,
The speculation that the A380 might be discontinued after 2018 is old news though. The CEO already said it won't happen and that the project will break even in 2015 and the rest of the orders then will be profit. They will possibly even improve it... Raise efficiency even more or something, I dunno. And while it is true that the A380 came earlier and it therefore had longer to collect orders, the difference is not that big: A380 introduced in 2007 with Singapore Airlines, 747-8 in 2011 with Cargolux. Orders for the 747-8 started in 2005, A380 in 2001. So let's just compare the orders since 2005, when you could order them both: 2005: 18 orders 747; 10 orders A380 2006: 42 orders 747; 24 orders A380 2007: 20 orders 747; 33 orders A380 2008: 2 orders 747; 9 orders A380 2009: 5 orders 747; 4 orders A380 2010: 1 order 747; 32 orders A380 2011: 5 orders 747; 19 orders A380 2012: 7 orders 747; 9 orders A380 2013: 17 orders 747; 42 orders A380 2014: 2 orders 747; 13 orders A380 That's 119 orders for 747-8 and 195 orders for the A380 just in the time period in which both are available for ordering. I'm not an A380 fanboy or anything and I do think that the 747-8 is a fantastic aircraft as well and it surely has a legendary status. But if you compare these 2 planes, the A380 is definetely the more successful aircraft with customers and that's all I'm saying. 28 passenger 747-8i against all the 319 A380. Who knows what the statistics would look like of Airbus had actually also implemented their original plans to also make an A380F...
Very nice observation indeed! We just have to experience the ride for ourselves to understand and fell it altogether. Also, the size factors does play a role on how comfortable you feel flying on the aircraft as well! Nice video Dantorp11!
the a380 is great, The space u get for ur legs is amazing, Comfort within an airplane should be a very very important factor specially during long flights
Very nice and objective review ,also liked the background music and i do agree the A340-600 is a striking plane ,very impressive as a passenger , haven't try the A380 yet , maybe one day.
Are you evaluating the planes OR the service Lufthansa is providing in each plane? You are mixing things, comparing apples to oranges. How did you measure the fuel burning?
I would imagine he used CASM for comparing fuel burn. The CFO of Lufthansa has confirmed in the press that their A380s consume less fuel per passenger mile than their 747-8Is. A380 with pax of 526 uses less fuel than 747-8i with 386 pax.
***** This was before they even had either aircraft in their fleets. An outdated set of figures with no peer reviewed studies, from a source that you can't justify as being reputable. But quite possibly, when you ram in 526 uncomfortably into the A380 like Lufthansa did, and spread out 362-386 seats on the 747-8i, you possibly could expect a lower fuel burn on a seat-mile basis. The non reputable source you refer to also only shows a 0.1l/pkm improvement with the packed 526 configuration over the luxury '386 seat' 747-8i. Thought I might add that this was done with the 362 seat 747-8i configuration. nearly 165 more seats for the A380 and yet it only has a claimed seat mile improvement of 0.1l per 100 pkm. Pathetic if you ask me. Just wait until Lufthansa reduce the seat count when they introduce their new, more spacious business product onto the A380. Oh wait, they can't? Because they won't make any revenue on the A380s? Because the A380 can't work backwards. Also let's wait until the PIPs see their way onto the Lufthansa -8is and the new empennage trim tanks, which improve the CG to make the aircraft have a lower trim drag during cruise. But you wouldn't know about that, you're not an aeronautical engineer.
Just to give you a 'heads up' on this guy. First, he's no aeronautical engineer. He was telling everyone on YT he was a pilot for Easyjet with either an interview or job offer with Qatar Airlines some 18mths-2yrs ago. A genuine pilot called his bluff so he backed off saying Easyjet had taken an aircraft out of service for a day to give rookies a chance behind the control column. Can you see an airline doing that in the current economic climate? This liar tries to bamboozle people with tech talk but to be honest, we all fell about laughing with his nonsense. His answer to your comment is plain b/s and just highlights what an insecure twerp he is. What he's trying to say is that all those airlines buying the A380 have got it wrong but he has got it right. The marketplace has chosen the Airbus over the Boeing in this contest, end of story. What's even funnier is that unless I'm seriously mistaken, the CASM figures you refer to were supported by Lufthansa's own accounting team. He also stays very quiet about the fact that Lufthansa were critical of both Boeing and GE because the engines were using 2.7% more fuel than that promised. The guy is very selective with what he says but it's easy to tell he's no engineer. I wouldn't waste your time talking with a liar. BTW, if you want a real laugh, look at a comparison video he did between the A380 and 747-8I...a real hoot. Also uses the name 'jaffacake1578'
As it happens, those ' original' figures you refer to were based on a 3 class 467 Boeing compared with a 555 seat Airbus. It had nothing to do with the 3 class 362 capacity. If you're going to state that the figures were quoted prior to Lufthansa receiving either model, at least get the sources correct, i.e Boeing and Airbus marketing departments. The fact remains that Boeing's figures were centered around 1980s comfort standards, where pitch assumed for business class was 39", and no where close to 21st century standards. Go have a look at Air Insight's article from 2012 for confirmation. You might want to bear in mind the early deliveries of 747-8i's had fuel consumption running at 2.8% over SFC so at the time of writing, the delta CASM with the Lufthansa A380 was significantly wider. PIP packages on the GEnx engines are closing the gap, but try and get your facts right first. There's no way an 526 seat A380 is less efficient in CASM terms than a 388 seat 747-8i. Granted you need to fill these seats for that to be the case but given Boeing's skewed notion of 39" being adequate for business class on their assumptions, the only people being rammed into a tight space are those flying a 467 seat 747-8i.
I agree, well...i AM an Airbus fan, so I think the A380 should have gotten 9 on beauty and Grace, but that's me! Very nice and fair comparizon, good work mate!
I suspect your analysis is biased in favour of the A380 and here is the reason for saying this: In terms of the noise comparison, you do not say what is the position of your seat relative to the outlet of the engines on each plane. A seat at the back will experience less noise than one close to the outlet of the engine, while seats in front of an engine will have far less noise than those behind the engines.
***** I actually like louder planes. The louder the better ! The way an aircraft should be ! Don't need all that sound dampening. Even the 747-8 is quiet now, which is kinda weird ! Gotta hear those engines !
in an A380 you can sit behind the engines on a window seat and during a lift off the 500 tons, you could talk to the other party 10 seats across in normal voice ! NO other plane is like that ! the B777 for example is deafening on any seat and the 787 is not what I expected ..noisewise.
if you haven't been on a A380 check this video in order to get an idea of the "noise" On the runway you here the actual wheel/ tarmac noise, after lift off you hear a lot of air noise of the open landing gear, when the gear is finally retracted (1:14), your hear the AC whispering while 500tons are lifted to the sky "noiseless" th-cam.com/video/hhdcaCnXKcY/w-d-xo.html
I'm a builder of the 747-8. She's an amazing airplane! This video doesn't do her justice. Try building the almost amazing airplane in the world and see what you get. I'm a Boeing employee proud that that I can say that I build the Queen of the Skies!
Good video and a valid comparison. At the end of this month, we will fly on the 1) A321 2) 777-300 ER 3) A380-800 and the A330-200. 7 legs return Cancun to Hong Kong via New York/Milan/Dubai. I will have a chance to do some comparisons between several aircraft types but I'm really looking forward to the A380. Again, nice vid and keep up the great work.
Not only that, but the Rolls Royce engines have been known to blow up due to poor manufacturing and inspection. Example: Quantas flight out of Singapore to Sidney. I'll take the GE engine anytime.
I am personally more of a Boeing fan, but I felt your comparison was perfect-very fair, informative, and complete. You did an incredible job, and now I want to try both to compare for myself! So far my favorite aircraft in terms of comfort is the 737-800.
Awesome work!. You blew my mind with the video. Got me truly entertained and you gave a fantastic review. A really objective one. You just won another subscriber. Keep on the awesome job!.
4-500 people on a single plane is too many, it takes wayyy to long to board and unload. Just on past performance, the Boeing aircraft will last 50% long, with lower maintenance and fuel costs that the Airbus. Advantage Boeing, they found the sweet spot with the 747, and that legacy will continue.
This is a fun video. However, as an American, I'm prone to say "HOW DARE YOU DENIGRATE THE 747?!?" I want the 747 to win. I think the A380 looks like a cruise ship that looks like it's about to tip over. At the same time, I'm jealous that Boeing hasn't added a full second deck, but those decisions are way above my pay grade. That being said, I would KILL to fly on either one.
But... that said, I think we can all agree that European airlines serve better food than American airlines do. And I can't think why... because we Americans love to eat. Hm.
I agree with you. I flew onboard the A380 Singapore Airlines on January and it was one of the best flight I have ever had. I was seated in the economy class upper deck and it was extremely comfortable. I walk down to the lower deck and I realised how this plane is so spacious, fantastic. A380 is an engineering marvel, it is just Fantastic!
as a passenger I don't care about the outside look of an airplane, what counts is the interior and the very low noise level inside. 380-10 points 747-2points... ;-)
For me. 747 man cause the first wide body aircraft and the most beautiful passenger plane in the world and it has all the variants I mean its a legend. Airbus is just copying Boeing and the a380 is just a big ugly plane but I do respect its size which is thats the advantage thing about it.
Kevin Hall LOL. Same number of engines AND same number of wings AND same number of nose AND same number of tail, it's a complete copy. What a shame !!! :) :) :)
Try telling that to Emirates who are making tidy profits and flying ultra long haul, or BA who do the same. Singapore Airlines regularly fly from the far east to Europe and the US fully loaded. Sure there are seasons when the 777er is more suited but no misinformation please
A380 every time, it's the small things that add up, for example the size of the wings allow it to have the same approach speed as a smaller a319 thus generating less thrust and noise. It's an incredible piece of engineering that will get better and better. Your videos are great!
To me, this so useless. We all have our own opinions. Who is to say I am right and you're wrong or visa versa. These type of videos never solve anything since most Europeans will side with the 380 since most of nations in Europe help support in building this. They did copy a lot of the Boeing designs so where can you go with this? Pilots may view this one way, while those in the cabin look for something different. I love planes, so I like them both. In my view, the 747 is much better looking. How is that for an opinion. Alright folks, gives us your opinion and lets get to the next video.
Get over it tejus. The Russians took most of the Germans brains. You bring up stuff that happened decades ago. Nobody cares about that. What are we talking about here? This is about a plane. Have a nice day.
Great video @dantorp! Increased my knowledge. I do agree with all your ratings. 747 well deserved to get 9 for grace and beauty, but yes in the end A380 wins. Such a spacious and heavenly flight for food lovers...
Not true, the 747-100 is old and the 747-200 is old... But you do realize that all the major airliners come from years of development, right? The 737 was introduced in 1968, does that mean it's old and outdated? No, its probably the greatest medium haul airliner out there and continues to be updated while still keeping roughly the same layout and fuselage. Airbus is fairly newer compared to Boeing, but the 747 isn't by any means an outdated airliner, the 747-8i is really great, efficient too.
Yes its way out dated, With the newest wing design and engines from the Dreamliner and new avionics. The problem with the A380 is it is to big and heavy. only a few airports can handle it. Besides the 777X is the next wide body.
I actually enjoy the clicking noise the seat belt makes. Especially once you've taxied to the gate and everyone takes their seat belts off at the same time, anxious to exit the plane. It's a symphony of clicking.
You will arrive more exhausted because of the lower cabin pressure, the higher noise, and the smaller leg room... but at least the plane is beautiful when looked at from the outside! Way better, indeed.
I think that the LH 748 is better in my opinion because it's newer and I love the look of their classes. But this comparison video is one of the best I have ever seen! Thanks a lot for sharing! I like the A380 but I like the LH 748i a bit better because it's newer but I haven't seen it in real life yet. Liked and faved!
Darshan Jain Goburdhone guess u have left kindergarten too soon.. the publisher of this video just said: let's NOT start boeing vs airbus fights.. looks like u're blind and u missed the word NOT :) i think it really wouldn't be bad to visit it again for couple of years.. next time choose nicer way to express an opinion ;)
I really appreciate this video! I'm glad that there is someone who actually has an open opinion to both aircraft and/or aircraft companies! It is a marvel that these aircraft can fly and operate the way that they do! I am greatly impressed with both companies and their designs! The 747 is an incredibly beautiful aircraft but i am afraid that it has already had its heyday! I wish that the -8 variant had sold better than it did but the A380 is the perfect competitor! I am thankful for both of these aircraft and how they have made the world such a small small place, and am also excited to see what the next generation of aircraft can bring about! -a concerned boeing fan
For me it is all about comfort during those long international flights. I think the 747-8i is a gorgeous aircraft, but when I am inside I do not care if it looks like a flying brick: I want comfort. You evaluation makes it clear that the A380 is the better choice for someone like me. Thanks for the comparison.
You changed my opinion about Lufthansa in this video.. I really thought they diddnt care about people in Economy! Thank you for that ;) Best Airbus vs Boeing video ever! You were fair the whole time! I'm an Airbus fan, but that doesent mean i don't like Boeing, cause i do! I just prefer it! The B747-8i is indeed very beautiful! Thank you for this awesome video! Liked and faved! Btw, 12:37, is that on a Dreamliner? :O
Very Fair & Balanced!, The exterior beauty of the 747 is hard to beat, but the Airbus certainly makes up for it, in the interior beauty!!! The Food Looked Great on Both Trips!
Loved the video and glad you did a description of the points that matter to you as a traveler. I read some of the comments below and cant help but cringe at some people's ignorance! Some people litteraly get so worked up over one guy's oppinion about personal preference, they treat it like it's the next election or a debate over religion.
Excellent critique, I have flown on the A380 (British Airways) and was very impressed, my attitude is if it fits in with my holidays try the 747-8. Lufthansa look like a top flights operator and I should be glad to give them a go!
I know different factors come into play, but how was the 380 landing? May I als suggest including the actual sound in the aircraft to add another interesting dimension to the video.
Thanks for all your comments! I love that you're making your own comparisons and also being very civil haha! Thank you!
Why did you use commas for your scores?
Doesn't that get confusing?
InOtherNews1
get confusing? at all. how is the imperial units system not confusing? metric is...just...lovely :)
*****
In UK people use dots
Mauryze Brug Imperial is confusing, that is why I use metric. I was just saying that whenever i look on the internet, which is usually international, I've only seen the periods as decimals.
747 is a timeless beauty !
I agree, from the 747-200 to the -8
+David Dutye how about the original 747-100 ?
Yes, the -100 too, the 747SP is odd and very rare these days, saw a private operated one fly out of KLAS.
+David Dutye oh yea, I actually follow them. Don't know what became of that Global peace 747SP that was a China Airlines that had a near plane crash in 1985.
747 is a timeless beauty, it's like Porsche 911. Don't have to change anything and it's still the king !
Even though the 47 "lost" in this video, you have to admit that for a 50 year-old hull design, it does extremely well.
the 748 is gorgeous!
I hope this video does not have sound... Otherwise I'll have to buy another computer
Nope it has sound
It used too
Thank you for taking the time to make this comparison video, I enjoyed watching it.
when i saw the pizza i was like "im going on that plane right now"
You are UNBELIEVABLE! Absolutely great video, very comprehensive, excellent camera job, and I enjoyed your text commentary :)
I'm lucky enough to work on both of these aircraft. The A380 is by far the better aircraft in every measurable way. But for me, the 747 still looks the best and is the fastest passenger jet in the world.

Disco4 lmao why do people think 747 is faster than A380. That's WRONG
No, its the fastest. The 747-8 is the fastest, the 747-400 is the second fastest and the A380 comes in third. www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travel-truths/which-passenger-jet-plane-flies-the-fastest/

I love that you said "besides the A340-600, the 747-8i is the most beautiful airplane out there"!!! Totally agree....and exceptional video as always!! :)
But I still like flying in the 747 more (my opinion) #TeamBoeing
Thank you for your video. Did a similar trip last year. LH A380 FRA-JFK and LH 747-8 ORD-FRA. I agree with your conclusions.
Really nice comparaison ! Thanks for sharing your experince with these 2 heavies ! :D You did a great job !
I will fly with them this summer (:
Big like from me !
Thanks a lot! You definitely have something to look forward to!
Dantorp11 Aviation you gna do one for a 777x or 787 v A350?
i've always wanted to see a comparison between both of these aircraft. nice video!!
flying on a380 soon, this has made me even more stoked!
Two absolutely stunning aircrafts.
Agreed,
Travelled on the A380 many times and loved it, have never been
on the 747-8i.
I recently had a long haul flight on a refurbished BA 747-400 in club world
and have to say that I was impressed.
Two great aircraft, always feel safe with the multiple redundancies in both airframes.
the 747 will always be the nicer, more muscular design.
Excellent review. I haven't flown either plane, but your review makes me want to fly both.
The 747 is way more better looking.

Best looking aircraft in the sky? Tie between the 8i and A-340-600. Always thought the 380 could use a stretch to look its best.
Right on that A-340-600, it is the most graceful yet majestic-looking aircraft ever!
The A380 hasn't ever had a hull loss.
The a380 has had no crashes the 747 has had lots
Excellent video and info. Thanks so much for sharing. Best of wishes on your future flying..
Thanks man! Great comparison! Boeing consider the side stick kind of a joke hehe!
Airbus has the side stick. Boeing has the yoke. The only Airbus aircrafts that had yokes were the A300 and the A310. They had yokes because Fly By Wire control didn't exist back then.
what a video, totally worth the wait dan! good job!
I'm very happy you enjoyed it man!
Total orders 747-8: 84 (56 of which are the cargo version)
Total orders A380: 153 (all passenger)
Even even when adding up the orders of the 747-8i and 747-8F orders, the number is only about half that of the A380.
Morbclz the a380has been out since the early 2000s the 747-8 came out in 2013 thus giving the a380 more time for airlines to order it
Colin Lorbach Thank you!
So let's just compare the orders since 2005, when you could order them both:
2005: 18 orders 747; 10 orders A380
2006: 42 orders 747; 24 orders A380
2007: 20 orders 747; 33 orders A380
2008: 2 orders 747; 9 orders A380
2009: 5 orders 747; 4 orders A380
2010: 1 order 747; 32 orders A380
2011: 5 orders 747; 19 orders A380
2012: 7 orders 747; 9 orders A380
2013: 17 orders 747; 42 orders A380
2014: 2 orders 747; 13 orders A380
That's 119 orders for 747-8 and 195 orders for the A380 just in the time period in which both are available for ordering.
Nice video Dantorp11!
the a380 is great,
The space u get for ur legs is amazing,
Comfort within an airplane should be a very very important factor specially during long flights
Method775 really I went on a Lufthansa a380 and found it cramp as hell I had much better legroom on the return journey in a united 777
Sai battu funny to me it was the exact opposite.
i was in a 13 hr flight from abu dhabi to sydney and it was killing me in the boeing 777
Were you in economy in both flight cause I was and it didn't feel like there was much space on the plane
Sai battu yeah in economy
Hmm odd what airlines for the a380 and 777 for me it was a380 Lufthansa and united 777
Very nice and objective review ,also liked the background music and i do agree the A340-600 is a striking plane ,very impressive as a passenger , haven't try the A380 yet , maybe one day.
We can all agree both behemoths are marvels of engineering!
I am an Airbus fan but The 747-8 is extremely beautiful, I think it is the best looking plane ever.
I really liked ur vid 😉 and BTW I vote 747
Very nice video, i've never seen this type of videos, that means that your very original ;-)
+88mroux me too, it's comparing getting BMW vs Jaguar. BMW being the better product. Just my personal opinion.
***** I actually like louder planes. The louder the better ! The way an aircraft should be ! Don't need all that sound dampening. Even the 747-8 is quiet now, which is kinda weird ! Gotta hear those engines !
He filmed the wings in both planes, so I guess that's where he was seated in both planes.
in an A380 you can sit behind the engines on a window seat and during a lift off the 500 tons, you could talk to the other party 10 seats across in normal voice !
Wow awesome. Thanks for that comparison, very hard to decide which one is better. Love the cabin lights on 747. Fantastic.
I'm a builder of the 747-8. She's an amazing airplane! This video doesn't do her justice. Try building the almost amazing airplane in the world and see what you get. I'm a Boeing employee proud that that I can say that I build the Queen of the Skies!
The 747-8 is the oldest plane
Ilan Levy no it is actually much younger
Great video friend! I realy enjoyed watching the whole video :)
This honestly depends on which airline
That's why he mentioned lufthansa in the tit.
+Psychopathway lmao tit
lol
Good video and a valid comparison. At the end of this month, we will fly on the 1) A321 2) 777-300 ER 3) A380-800 and the A330-200. 7 legs return Cancun to Hong Kong via New York/Milan/Dubai. I will have a chance to do some comparisons between several aircraft types but I'm really looking forward to the A380. Again, nice vid and keep up the great work.
I like both but i wold prefer to fly in an a380
It was hard to tell which aircraft you were talking about at times but great video!
I still like 747 more :) #TeamBoeing
:-)
#TeamAirbus
i prefer the 747-8i quiter engines in my opinion better interior
Not only that, but the Rolls Royce engines have been known to blow up due to poor manufacturing and inspection. Example: Quantas flight out of Singapore to Sidney. I'll take the GE engine anytime.
Awesome video. In my opinion, the music really fits the spirit of Lufthansa.
The A-380 lack the beauty and gracefulness of the 747
Psycho9263 yeah A380 looks like a penis with wings
GoosedOff&Friends You probably right...
GoosedOff&Friends Really?
When flying economy class, who cares about beauty? My legs don't.
I am personally more of a Boeing fan, but I felt your comparison was perfect-very fair, informative, and complete. You did an incredible job, and now I want to try both to compare for myself! So far my favorite aircraft in terms of comfort is the 737-800.
Boeing747 first fly 1969 . Airbus a380 first fly 2005 , 747 is the king on the air .
King is larger m8. 747 is the queen.
The A380 isn't old enough to know how long it will last.
Great video Dan! Love the music selection too. Both planes are great, it's hard to choose but I'd go for the 747-8.
im about to hop on an a380 for all those free toblerones those chocolate bars are great
I so love the 747 😍 every time i fly , i always make sure its a jumbo esp on long haul flights
747 anyday over scarebus.
Really good!
Hm.
Dan Ziska European airlines also generally cost more than American airliners, but you do get it back in quality.
Police! Arrest him!!!
Wait until Boeing made 747-8 D (double decked)
***** That's the Airbus A380. ;)
Airbus always feel underpowered compared to Boeing....
Great Video! I enjoyed a lot!!!!
Team Airbus for life!!
very nice review you have earned a like and a subscriber!! :)
The Airbus looks like a Baluga Whale
Lol
they have already got that covered with the airbus beluga
as a passenger I don't care about the outside look of an airplane, what counts is the interior and the very low noise level inside. 380-10 points 747-2points... ;-)
Great video! Thanks for sharing it!
For me. 747 man cause the first wide body aircraft and the most beautiful passenger plane in the world and it has all the variants I mean its a legend. Airbus is just copying Boeing and the a380 is just a big ugly plane but I do respect its size which is thats the advantage thing about it.
Please explain how Airbus is copying Boeing? Same number of engines perhaps? The A380 borrows very little from the 747.
Kevin Hall LOL. Same number of engines AND same number of wings AND same number of nose AND same number of tail, it's a complete copy. What a shame !!! :) :) :)
@Kevin hall they copied Boieng by making a jumbo jet.
Try telling that to Emirates who are making tidy profits and flying ultra long haul, or BA who do the same. Singapore Airlines regularly fly from the far east to Europe and the US fully loaded. Sure there are seasons when the 777er is more suited but no misinformation please
I agree. Plus the 787 series 800 and 900 and the Airbus A350 which in my opinion are the 2 best aircratfs with the A380
Amazing video mate!! I go for the 747-8i!! That plane is soo amazing!! Great shot's!! Thanks for sharing!! Well done and a HUGE LIKE!!
Thanks a lot my friend! I appreciate it :D
Dantorp Aviation if the 747-8i is the most beautiful plane in the world, the Concorde is the most beautiful plane in the universe!....
A380 every time, it's the small things that add up, for example the size of the wings allow it to have the same approach speed as a smaller a319 thus generating less thrust and noise. It's an incredible piece of engineering that will get better and better. Your videos are great!
if it aint boeing i aint going!
Great video Dantorp!! What about the leg room? I'm tall just like you (189 cm) and I'd like to know. Is OK to fly on these seats? Thank you!
+Adriano Quarantine I'm 187cm and I found the A380 legroom to be best!
Alright folks, gives us your opinion and lets get to the next video.
and americans looted advanced german technology after the end of ww2 for their space program von braun helped them to win moon race
Get over it tejus. The Russians took most of the Germans brains. You bring up stuff that happened decades ago. Nobody cares about that. What are we talking about here? This is about a plane. Have a nice day.
CaptainArt777 "They did copy a lot of the Boeing designs so where can you go with this?" Please elaborate which Boeing aircraft did Airbus copy?
Jas .K Give it a rest Jas. If you don't know, then forget. I am not going to spend my time educating you. This is a well known fact. Have a nice day.
tejus kumar That is the spoils of war. Germans on the other hand looted everything else, including the lives of millions of innocent people.
Great video @dantorp! Increased my knowledge. I do agree with all your ratings. 747 well deserved to get 9 for grace and beauty, but yes in the end A380 wins. Such a spacious and heavenly flight for food lovers...
For sure, 747 is the queen of the sky.
But it looks a bit dated now.
beavertown2006 absolutely not
her design has been the best one and so far she is still the best looking one when comparing with the flying pig of the sky.
Great video, Dantrop11! Thanks for sharing with us.
My pleasure!
747 is too old and you can only do so much to modernize an old design.
Opticillusion160 I agree, the design of the 747 came from mid-sixties but it's timeless and very distinctive.
You know what they say "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
The 747 is getting old which is why this is its last design. As for the 737, compared to the A320 it is outdated.
747 is WAYYY BETTER the a380 looks really ugly
Love the 747 8 I myself.
747 has classic profile, the A380 doesn't; however it's impressive in size of course.
Adam Woodward I think there both kinda cute honestly. Inside is gorgeous. Both are barely equally the same. ITS QUEEN AND KING BOIIII
You will arrive more exhausted because of the lower cabin pressure, the higher noise, and the smaller leg room... but at least the plane is beautiful when looked at from the outside! Way better, indeed.
k
I think that the LH 748 is better in my opinion because it's newer and I love the look of their classes. But this comparison video is one of the best I have ever seen! Thanks a lot for sharing! I like the A380 but I like the LH 748i a bit better because it's newer but I haven't seen it in real life yet. Liked and faved!
The 747 is probably the ugliest airliner ever, how can you say that it looks better than the airbus
man you are really crazy. 747 is better than the A380. Have you heard yourself. Its the A380 the ugliest airliner.
It's the 747-8i that's the ugliest
fifa stret LOL, kinda like Fords vs Chevys
fifa stret well tbh airbus has 2 gay dads and boeing is like a lesbian mother.
marvelous video!!
found it very entertaining
Great video with a BIG plus, your comparison ranks. Thank you!
Couldn't agree with you more.......747-8i is stunning! Its design is what does it for me, prefer grace over space!
A tail camera seems awesome to me. It helps the cockpit identify problems and lets passengers have a cool view!
Love it, Dantorp! You DO know how to make good videos!
Haha thanks a lot bro!
Nope on a 767 haha! Thanks a lot and I'm happy I made you rethink your opinion regarding Lufthansa! They are a really great airline!!
Wow! Fantastic video, I really enjoyed the comparison.
Thanks man!
Very useful, thanks!
Excellent critique, I have flown on the A380 (British Airways) and was very impressed, my attitude is if it fits in with my holidays try the 747-8. Lufthansa look like a top flights operator and I should be glad to give them a go!
Great video and many thanks for this.
I know different factors come into play, but how was the 380 landing? May I als suggest including the actual sound in the aircraft to add another interesting dimension to the video.
Very nice review, I'm looking foward to see Norwegian 787, and SAS A350's! :)
I'm an airbus fan, but I like the both manufactors!
What an awesome video!!! I hope to use this as a guide to which aircraft I should fly in!! :-)
Choose the A380 ;) Thanks man!
