The new Fender Player Jazz Bass is an inspiring instrument. It has classic J-Bass style and authentic Fender bass tone thanks to its dual single-coil pickups which offering a tight, punchy sound and plenty of power. It's smooth feel and versatility means that it's just as comfortable on stage as it is in the studio.
The Player Jazz Bass has a Modern "C”-shaped maple neck with a 9.5”-radius fingerboard and 20 medium-jumbo frets. It features a 4-saddle bridge which provides accurate intonation and easy action adjustment so you can truly make the instrument your own.
Other classic touches include a synthetic bone nut, 3-ply pickguard, open-gear tuning machines and a four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate.
The Fender Player Jazz Bass is available in a 5-string configuration and as a left-handed model.

I have owned this bass (in the same color and finger board combo) for almost 2 years now. Replaced the bridge with a high-mass K.A. II and Rotosound Swingbass 66 XL Strings. LOVE IT! And yes, you can gig with it.
My ONE complaint was the fit and finish. Right out of the box I had to dress the treble side fret ends. Also, there was the infamous "Fender Hump" around the 17th fret. Nothing a couple hours and a couple tools couldn't fix, but WELL worth the $6-700 savings buying a MIM bass over an American at twice the price. ESPECIALLY if you know how to set it up.. mine now plays like butter!! I recomend this bass highly as an intermediate to advanced practice instrument and as stated earlier, it's gigable too. I give it 4.75 stars out of 5.

It was a bit spendy but I swapped out my buttercream maple for a roasted maple fender neck and put in hipshot light weight tuners. The bass is so gorgeous now.

I hated the color until I saw it in person...Not a great video, but a great bass. Just got mine, and it is fantastic. My first Jazz Bass. Had always been a PJ guy.

Does the green look a bit more saturated in real life? I like the way it looks in most pictures but in every video I've seen so far it seems somewhat washed out.
With the tidepool blue one it's the opposite; that one looks a lot better in videos.

Damn, Sage Green Metallic hasn't been offered since, what, 2002? Now my Sage Green Jazz Bass isn't a specialty item anymore. XD

I have a 69 Fender Precision w/Jazz Neck at the time custom color, Ocean Turqoise, block inlay on rosewood neck/bought at the music store I worked for in 1969. 2024 and Fender Custom Shop says "Sorry we won't touch it because you don't have a receipt"; although I do have owners manual with name of assembler "E Paxton", only Custom Shop in Colorado is HB Woodsong, Boulder. I thought Fender had control of their channel. I believe HB Woodsong is telling Fender that no receipt, no work. If they would do this to a Senior, think what they'll do to YOU. Buyer Beware.

Soloed bridge pickup? Soloed neck pickup? Tone differences? Dreadful demo, sorry.

Really hate it when people treat the jazz bass like it only has one sound. I don't even like the sound of both pickups on so much... in the lower register it just loses so much bass. Great for slap but when doing fingerstyle I'd almost always much rather have either the neck or bridge pickup on alone.
