I found a very cool bar in Istanbul a couple of nights ago where they had PMJ on continual loop.... I noticed how good when the music was. I couldn't believe how good this one in is in particular (although it is definitely one of the more frivolous ones). I was very happy that I was able to track them down. I have already bought one of their albums and intend to buy some more/all of them.
Breonna Van Patten I laughed out loud when I heard the first time of "raise our cups to the stars" - I remember drinking some pints of Guiness with an Irish friend and it's fitting. Very fitting XD
I think they took it down because some people think it's kind of racist because of the Lucky Charms and Guinness. This is why we can't have nice things.
PoisonOnHisLips its the fact that he took a drink from the beer, its frowned upon for many publicly distributed purposed, and even illegal for tv purposes.
+ObviousInit1 um....she took it....that was the nice touch. Watch/listen to enough postmodern jukebox and one thing you learn is that they are not sexist -- sexual, but not sexist.
+ObviousInit1 'Cept no self-respecting Irishman would drink Guiness from a can... I know *why* they had to do it that way - shooting with Guiness in a glass would be too tricky, and folks might not recognize it -but it doesn't make it right.
A tribute to music all over the world and times. You are all amazing, I don't know enough words to express my admiration for your work. Kudos to all of you!
Here, as in so many of his early "covers," Scott mocks what he considers to be deficient (but commercially successful) music by reinterpreting it, in another style, in a derisive video. Scott was forced to withdraw this video because Daft Punk's management served TH-cam with a takedown notice, unfairly accusing Scott of having been compensated for product placement. They didn't understand that Scott was also joking at the expense of the makers of Lucky Charms Cereal and of Guinness Stout. He never charged for THAT service! Apparently, PMJ's Russian fans got the joke (and saved the video). For our sakes, let's hope that they don't get caught! In this performance, both Mitchell Jarvis and Robyn Anderson are hamming it up, no doubt at Scott Bradlee's direction. Mitchell and Robyn are talented performers playing losers. MITCHELL plays the part of a so-so "Irish tenor," a smirking, prancing jerk who just knows he will "get lucky" and "get some" before night's end. He fortifies himself with Guinness Stout and Lucky Charms Cereal, the latter thoughtfully poured into his hat, not by a leprechaun (as seen in American TV commercials) but by the bass player. ROBYN has been given the role of a "colleen," a bit the worse for wear, grimly trying to preserve her dignity and hope, even after the straps of her dress have fallen almost to her elbows, no doubt during an "unlucky," rough, romantic encounter. The video is a low budget, comedic effort, shot in Scott's apartment. It's aspirations are modest; nonetheless, musically, it's intended to be an improvement over the original. These days Scott is a financial success, has a larger living room for videotaping, and concentrates on producing mainly light-hearted showstoppers that showcase the spectacular musical talents of his performers and which work well on the stages of theaters throughout the world. NEXT TOUR = Europe: 26 Feb - 4 Jun 2016.
Whoa. One of the most happy, fun, relaxing songs in recent memory...turned desperate and melancholic by changing an accent and arranging it in strings. Bravo. Just, seriously. Take a bow through the internet.
I really enjoyed this cover, I think his tonality really adds a great quality to it, and their harmonizing is fantastic. Plus violinists could make it all by themselves. You guys are my heroes!
THANK GOD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!....Evetytime I hear that part, I feel like I just found out some kick ass news from Sergeant Major and it's time to go
I love this series. It's not just clever, it's a commentary about pop music. Strip away changes in instrumentation, presentation, thematic content and you realize that popular music hasn't changed since the days of... Brahms probably.
It took me until the 12th or 13th time of watching this to realize that's Mitch Jarvis. Brilliant. Still my favorite of all your covers. Keep em comin!
Well, mine broke. A friend tripped over it, but she hasn't payed for it.. I doubt she will. We already got into a big argument about it so I'd rather not go into THAT again.
555Kazuma666 We didn't talk to each other for about a year but we've moved past it now. And Brodo Swaggins There's a huge crack down the middle of the base (Is that what it's called?)
Took me until about 2/3s of the way through to understand why they chose the Irish theme... "The Luck of the Irish" right? As someone who is ethnically Irish, I never really understood that stereotype... Wouldn't consider myself that lucky.
I can be shockingly lucky but its because people look for things. you say luck of the irish they look for when your luck turns out not for when it doesn't. it's all perspective and context.
luke timothy I think it's more likely that the irish folk who emigrated to america were willing to work harder to prove themselves. Being the better miner meant taking more chances and really pulling your weight. Getting lucky just meant there was more of them, trying harder. You make your own luck (as far as I have learned)
+SirCrest If they just reuploaded it, then it'd still be up on the original channel. It's not there anymore, this is the only version of it uploaded it seems.
+Matt561 Was this confirmed by someone associated with PMJ (like Scott perhaps), or is it your speculation? I've also wondered why it might have been taken down.
+JoelPhilosophy --- Scott was made to withdraw it from PMJ's channel because Daft Punk's management thought that Scott had been compensated by the breakfast cereal and beer companies for references to their products. Some people have no sense of humor. There was no compensated product placement. Scott was just having fun.
Now I can't think about this song meaning anything other than getting Lucky Charms. DAMN. SONG IMPROVED!!
"How can we make it obvious that this guy is Irish?"
"I dunno give him a can of Guinness?"
"Brilliant!"
up all night to get lucky charms?
Brad Davis HA! i didnt finish the video yet when i commented. Are those lucky charms in his hat!??
It certainly looks like it. It's like you're psychic!
Full disclosure...lucky charms are not sold in Ireland. Irish people have only ever seen them on American TV.
That Irish singers facial expressions are just incredible.
Seriously thought they were breaking into the skyrim theme for a moment there
Clairzey Bear me too...
+Clairzey Bear omg!! im not crazy!!
same chord buildup
i was waiting for that dovah kin entrance ww

Sounds like a Turk to not pay for something they're taking.
Am I the only one who finds this one hilarious!?
Breonna Van Patten I laughed out loud when I heard the first time of "raise our cups to the stars" - I remember drinking some pints of Guiness with an Irish friend and it's fitting. Very fitting XD
Breonna Van Patten It is!!! is just brilliant XD !!!
Breonna Van Patten The lead man cracked me up with the popcorn in his cap! This was a fantastic performance :)
***** I believe those were "Irish" Lucky Charms. :)
+Breonna Van Patten It wouldn't be funny if it wasn't good.
A very fresh, innovative and clever version of this great song.
How is this not in their YT channel? It sounds absolutely fantastic
maybe something about the copyright.
PoisonOnHisLips daft punks recordlable did a copy right claim against it cause it got more views in 2 days then the actual song did
***** No wonder. Even though the original song is very enjoyable, this is ...well, just better.
The can of Guiness is a nice touch
+ObviousInit1 When the can is open it's more realistic x)
this guy just has to be in drink...?
+ObviousInit1 FFS, its an IRISH style song!!!
+ObviousInit1 um....she took it....that was the nice touch. Watch/listen to enough postmodern jukebox and one thing you learn is that they are not sexist -- sexual, but not sexist.

BEAUTIFUL VERSION greetings from Argentina

After all this time I still laugh when he eats the cereal.
Haha I lost it when the Lucky Charms came out such a great cover!
A tribute to music all over the world and times. You are all amazing, I don't know enough words to express my admiration for your work. Kudos to all of you!

I thought this was going to be pretentious.
I can see why pretentious people copy you now
Cracks me up every time. The Lucky Charms...genius.
best Daft Punk cover EVAR
The perfect mix of amazing musicmanship, vocals and just plain fun. Thumbs up for the Guinness. YOU GO BASSMAN!
I love Robyn's "standing there, not singing" face.
Whoa. One of the most happy, fun, relaxing songs in recent memory...turned desperate and melancholic by changing an accent and arranging it in strings.
Bravo. Just, seriously. Take a bow through the internet.
Drinking Guinness while waiting on cue. Classic!
I enjoyed the very dramatic drinking of the Guinness before the Lucky Charms came out.
Robyn's facial expressions crack me up every time. How she keeps a straight face is beyond me. Best cover band ever, period.
This woman just riped every single part of my soul! Bravo 👏👏👏
I loved everything about this video, especially the guy. He was amazing and hilarious!

Icaros03677 They had to, copyright.
Can you send original link? I'm one of their subscribers but cant find this song
I really enjoyed this cover, I think his tonality really adds a great quality to it, and their harmonizing is fantastic. Plus violinists could make it all by themselves. You guys are my heroes!
why i remember dragon born song of skyrim ohh wait SAME EPIC SOUND!
I noticed that when I was playing this song on Guitar and suddenly picked up on the Skyrim theme.
me loves all your covers/arrangements awesome !!!!
This is hilarious...and musically way more interesting than the original.
Agreed! I am having so much fun watching and listening to these. :)
I wouldn't be so close minded as to say that, but definitely a great arrangement by the fellows.
My dude the Irish Tenor is a MANIAC! Guiness to the throat. Charms to the neck...Fuqqin Bravo people!
Does the beginning remind anyone else of "Song of the Dragonborn"?
Yep, it was the first thing that came to mind...for some reason:)
chowderheadify i can sorta hear it, but i have listened to both songs many times,so i know there differences.
a jomagurd Well yeah obviously it isn't exactly the same, but the similarities are very apparent aren't they?
chowderheadify I heard that and the Halo theme at about 2:08. I'm sure it's a coincidence but cool nonetheless.
Monica Insert Hispanic Last Name Same, but I didn't know how to tag time so I didn't know how I'd bring it up.
The violinists!!!! Amazing.
самый лютый кавер из тех, что я слышал
Happy Valentine's Day to me that I stumbled upon this TH-cam Channel!!!! hahahahahahahahaha! My side hurts. I love it!!!!
2:08 Halo soundtrack.
Start of each chorus: song of the dragonborn.
so I'm not insane!
+PhantomN60 Lmao
yeah.. I was thinking the same.. still awesome, though!
btw. someone should try to make a Halo-/Skyrim-Medley ....
THANK GOD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!....Evetytime I hear that part, I feel like I just found out some kick ass news from Sergeant Major and it's time to go
So lucky I found this one! In stitches.
why did they delete this video this video is one of my favorites from them
Probably some kind of copyright thing.
This might be the single greatest thing in the history of music.
Interesting fine line between what could be considered Irish sounding and what could be considered Italian sounding.
I love this series. It's not just clever, it's a commentary about pop music. Strip away changes in instrumentation, presentation, thematic content and you realize that popular music hasn't changed since the days of... Brahms probably.
He only sounds Irish holding that Guinness.
Those Violin are killling me. Perfection!
Is it me or does Robyn say "Ow" at 2:50 in the middle of her lyrics? lol
Cassidan Lucky Charms hurt
Cassidan She definitely did
It took me until the 12th or 13th time of watching this to realize that's Mitch Jarvis. Brilliant. Still my favorite of all your covers. Keep em comin!
You should do more Irish Tenor Covers!!
I heard this on NPR. Loved it so much.
is that man drinking guiness while singing
+Jambuster DID THEY PUT LUCKY CHARMS IN HIS HAT
+Jambuster Haha, yes and yes!
Mad props to his devotion to props.
Best Guinness commercial of all time

Makes me wanna play violin again sooo bad
what's stopping you?
Well, mine broke. A friend tripped over it, but she hasn't payed for it.. I doubt she will. We already got into a big argument about it so I'd rather not go into THAT again.
Mercury Pony
sounds like you may have to rethink your friendship
Mercury Pony what broke exactly?
555Kazuma666 We didn't talk to each other for about a year but we've moved past it now.
And Brodo Swaggins There's a huge crack down the middle of the base (Is that what it's called?)
The Lucky Charms and Guiness have me laughing every time. This is one of, if not my favorite song on this channel.
halo soundtrack 2:13?
Yes :3
I _knew_ I wasn't the only one. :D
I loved the violin "soli" section. Very creative!!
Reminds me of Skyrim, lol!
When the man started eating lucky charms out of his hat, that was pure gold.
Lost my shit at 2:48...
+Un Om Hahah you made my day sir lol i was really smiling and laughing inside and you cracked me up, with making me watching 2:48 haha
Un Om lol
"IM UUUUPP ALL NIGHT TO GET SOOOOOMMMMEEE!" XD omg that had me rolling
The beer is a nice touch hahahaha

The vocals are amazing! but the instrumental in this song is outstanding!
It remembers me of the Halo OST too haha
her face reminds me Sasha Grey
haha i also thought that when i saw her the first time.
Someone give that guy a metal. He is putting his heart and soul into this.
Everyone else did a good job too.
Lol, the Lucky Charms XP
Great music! But I can't stand watching the video because of the faces the tenor keeps making. Regardless, fantastic work!
2:09: Sounds like the Halo Theme!
YEP ... i was like.... AWESOME
wow it totally does. i really wanted that to continue :((
The can of Guiness in his hand really sets the tone.
Guinness!!
The male singer was feeling this song so hard XD I love his enthusiasm
I'm up all night to get Guiness.
Chucking Lucky Charms at his face- laughed my ass off!
The male singer seems to make love to the beer rather than drink it.
thanks for putting this up .... made my day - have not seen this forever .... rock on Scottbradleelovesya . . .
Guinness in a can :(
everything else was perfect.
David Wong, nice solo and nice playing all around! Sounded great!
Why is this not in the PMJ channel?
I heard, Daft Punk took issue with it, and threatened ... legal action. Kaan is a hero.
Fantastic in so many ways,Bravo.
Woah, after 2:08 he almost plays the Halo soundtrack on the violin
Good, so I'm not the only one that hears it
Hehe nope :)
should have continued ,, the violins were rocking out of this world.
Took me until about 2/3s of the way through to understand why they chose the Irish theme... "The Luck of the Irish" right?

Give this a read to learn more about the origins of the phrase:
mentalfloss.com/article/30236/luck-irish-old-mining-expression
Wow, thanks Blarggle!
It has American roots? I guess that's why I am so unfamiliar with it and don't really understand it.
luke timothy I think it's more likely that the irish folk who emigrated to america were willing to work harder to prove themselves. Being the better miner meant taking more chances and really pulling your weight. Getting lucky just meant there was more of them, trying harder. You make your own luck (as far as I have learned)
God I love everything you do. Your talents (everyone) are so awesome. Keep them coming.
guinnes merchandising?? =P
Se realmente for, muito bem feito !!!! ;)
The violins
anyone else think the middle part sounds like halo....
yup, definitely halo
Can't stop smiling after watching this.
2:08 Halo Theme?
The 3/4 made this song unbelievably tremendous.
No more uruapan mexican lucky :(
Am I the only that feels like dancing the waltz or traditional dance to this.
why isn't this on PMJ's main channel?
+JoelPhilosophy Because the uploader probably stole it and didn't credit it.
+SirCrest If they just reuploaded it, then it'd still be up on the original channel. It's not there anymore, this is the only version of it uploaded it seems.
They were worried about offending Irish people.
+Matt561 Was this confirmed by someone associated with PMJ (like Scott perhaps), or is it your speculation? I've also wondered why it might have been taken down.

Thank you for reposting this. You've made my day with this one!👍
irish? sounds more polish
um.. no?
Looks like you never heard Polish person (at least not sober one)
not talking about the language she's singing. it sounds like a polish folk song
Oh myy... Sorry. You're actually right. When that guy sings with high pitched voice. Gosh! It really sounds like polish folk!
It sound more like it's from ancient Rome, i've been on gig back in 123 AD and it sounded just like this. YOU ARE SO WRONG DUDE
You guys should do some more Irish covers. I loved this!
Is that the sad clown with normal clothes?
No, Big Mike aka Puddles the Clown is almost 7 feet tall, you wouldn't miss him.
Thank you
That's great! Sound and the theatricals!
