- The pressure is on in Episode 2 of eBay Motors Modathon as Grind Hard Plumbing Co hustles to transform the Bronco into an undisputed rock crawler. But before they hand off the keys for the final build, it must first pass the “real” challenge of dominating the Rubicon, the granddaddy of off-road trails, in Lake Tahoe, California. How is no one thrown off by how easy and fun they made this luck anyone that build off road anything know yes it can be done in 8 days with a team of people but it's not that easy to have a perfect trail rig that has no issues with that modification b.s

We passed you guys on the Rubicon trail in a beat Samurai. Wanted to say hi to the Grind Hard guys, but it was such a huge production. Is that as far as you went into the trail? I don't think that counts as doing the Rubicon, it was only a mile, maybe two from the start. They didn't even get to the hard parts. Much of our Samurai was bought on ebay motors. In fact I had to buy new gears on ebay after that trip haha
The Suzuki Samurai is nostalgic vehicle. What do you have done to yours, besides new gears =)
@@ebaymotors Seems like everything haha, much of it I do buy from ebay coincidentally. Lift, tires, axles, disc brakes, bearings, seals, roll cage, new seatbelts, glove box and even new top. You can see it in your footage somewhere I'm sure.

I was going to comment the same thing i don’t think it counts as doing the rubicon I was in a group on the Rubicon, the same time they were filming, I was in a grey gladiator with 2 LJ’s and 2 Fj’s and we came across them blocking the trail, dope rig tho
Love seeing what the grind hard guys build! Wish there was more time spent showing off the cool engineering, and less on the scripted narrative. There's a lot of detail on that axle swap that I'd love to see

We passed you guys on the trail in our beat up Samurai. Really wanted to stop to say hi to the Grind Hard crew but you were too busy filming. I even had my Grind Hard neck gator hahah. You guys gotta come back and do the entire Rubicon Trail not just the first mile or 2, you didn't even see the hard parts :-P

Cool build and the production had good potential. But how much of the trail did you guys actually do? That is far from the hardest part of the trail :D You should try a part 2 and do the actual hard parts of the trail next

I love the "Great, these fit your vehicle!" notes on the aftermarket parts that absolutely won't fit your '79 Bronco without scratch-built modifications!
The great thing is, there are tons of parts that fit without any modification using our My Garage feature.
@@ebaymotors absolutely! I use My Garage to keep track of all my jalopies and get the parts I need, knowing they’ll fit. It’s just funny because those 44” tires aren’t fitting a ‘79 bronco without a ton of complementing modifications

Now that's giving Love to awesome Bronco, I had that exact color scheme of Bronco, prior to my NAVY career, I kind of left it in my Old Man's driveway in 2012, with spun rod bearing. oops. but a have another one Now 3 yr. project, Stock. best class of trail ride out there.

Everything they did you can do on 33's and a front locker, if your interested in doing the Con you don't need a monster rig.
@10:40 mark they went up the easy part, there's a steeper climb behind the cameraman that's more challenging.
@11:00 mark, that's the correct line for that obstacle, if you go to the right you'll slam into a massive Boulder.
I'm a little disappointed you didn't do Cadillac Hill, I would've love to see your guys reactions to it.
We're lucky that we got the cast and crew to attempt these courses.
We ran into them that day, they only did a tiny bit of the start of trail. None of the hard spots. And we have no front locker, and no one had them backnin 80s when we started running the rubi
Always did have a weak spot for the 76 and 78 Ford broncos with the round headlights always found them to be some beautiful rugged 4x4s when built right

Kind of upsetting for them to drag it all the way out to the Rubicon to wheel it then turn around not even 1/4 way into the trail. I was hoping to see them wheel more of the trail, especially when they chose the same rig as mine, my 78 bronco made it alot farther than that on little 35s! You guys could have done the whole trail easy! That bronco is a beast it deserved more camera time on the Rubicon.

I wish they showed more of the struggle because I've done 10 plus inch lift kits and this makes it look like just anyone can do it and that's not the case they covered 8 days of hard work and made it look like ya just order the stuff and go that b.s
