I always loved those 8 series BMWs back in the day. When you saw one come into a parking lot.......it projected the feeling of "I HAVE ARRIVED"! Any owner of one of these back in the day (or now for that matter) was one lucky individual. Nice that TOPAZ brought it back to a better than new condition! That color combination on that 850 is stunning!
What an Amazing car and the owner is a lovely guy too! Met him quite a few times and got some pictures of my red e31 next to his insane e24 m6. Great video!
This car was in the design stage a 5 years before it was produced. It is actually the epitome of the best of 80s styling. The Toyota Supra of the time had a similarity, but does not come close to the beauty of this body style. The interior leather was very thin and always rippled as with this car. Felt like it needed more padding. That could gave been done better.
You can purchase them from a BMW retailer, I believe they are available for all models but worth confirming. I work for BMW and have seen them featured on many of the newer generation cars.
@@adammelville1077 thank you for your reply. I saw those. Point is, in case of the rims showed on the video, looks like they made a hole in the center cap (it's a plastic one) to fit this spinner logo. At least that's what I think and wanted to confirm it.
This was Clifford Compton’s BMW he was the first black player on the Hooters tour back in 1981, he did pretty well winning 2 events and 9 top tens, total career winnings of $212,000.
Great video -fabulous car especially in that colour. Pretty certain the McLaren F1 engine was not derived from the flagship BMW 5-litre V12 as it was to big and heavy. They built a completely new engine for the F1. Keep up the good work.
“The S70/2, while sharing the same 12 cylinder layout, bore spacing and design principle as the S70B56, is essentially a new design with the heads based on the European market S50B30,[20] and thus featuring 4 valves per cylinder and variable valve timing (called VANOS by BMW) and individual throttle bodies.” We did only say based on! 😁
On more modern cars it is less of a concern. But I still cover up connectors on wiring harnesses before pressure washing. And do not spray into any air vents leading into the cabin. But I would definitely cover all the electronics in this car before pressure washing, especially connectors. Some parts for this car are not made by BMW any longer, some can be had from other manufacturers, but some parts are no longer made by anyone and can only be obtained from other used vehicles. Best to be extra cautious in this regard.
@@user-xw7ui8wv7o What expertise is involved in applying this amount of water to the engine bay? The car features numerous electrical sockets and connections, which, if exposed to water, could lead to faults over time as these connectors may start to rust. If the car is particularly special, why not utilise a steamer instead? I've been following Topaz since Enzo's detailing video showcased their work. Knowing their reputation for quality, I remain astonished by what I have just witnessed.
Shame about the airbag wheel. My God the 90’s produced some horrible steering wheels. The non bag wheel in these was lovely. Lose the spoiler too. Doesn’t need it
Great video! Thank you for making my 850 CSI better than new again 🙌🏽 Was totally blown away when I picked it up! Great work by the whole team
My pleasure!
One of my dream cars growing up. Been lucky to own some lovely cars since but would love to have one of these at some point. So cool 😎
@@PrinceBarin77they are fantastic cars! I hope you find one 😎
Can I just say, your car is absolutely amazing sir

Simply stunning! My favorite BMW shape along with the V8 M3.
Same here!

Couldn't agree more!
Thank you Angus! Those were the days 🙌🏽
Great car. Golden era of BMW 😊
Still enjoying my Topaz detailing products. 😎👍
Epic!
Great video but this is not the only E31 in Aqua. There is at least one 840ci Sport in Aqua
You state a 21 stage wash procedure, any chance you could list these please.
Thanks.

Do you by chance know where the spinning logoemblem on the center cap comes from? Appreciate your answer.

what blue masking tape is it that you're using?

If it had the correct M Parallels and was left hand drive it would be perfect.
Damn, those wheels look so good!
They have to be one of the greatest OEM wheels ever 👏🏽

Brilliant video. Love the music, was curious if anyone knows the artist.
I owned an Aqua 1997 840. If anyone has it I’d buy it back in the morning.
amazing car, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
stunning beautiful car ❤
Insane car!
My god, Michelin......and ..... Continental tyre 😱😱😱😱🫨🤒🤧
some tarmac muncher that one, imagine forking out nearly 100k for that back in the 90's 😲although someones had a bargain at some point 👌
Tell me about it
320is was also a regular BMW with an M engine
The rear shock mounts would rust out on these, nightmare.
Very special car!
Thanks for watching
Thought that pressure washing the engine bay was a big no no?

That radio doesn't belong there 😡
Nice car 😍👌🏼
We agree!
Music makes it feel like a adamlz video
:)
Thanks for watching!
Interior is hideous
RIP engine components!
Given their level of experience and the calibre of vehicles they're used to working on, something tells me the engine's going to be fine

@@linkmarine its scary how dumb you people are and still allowed to leave comments on social media !
We’ve worked on over 10,000 cars. Not once have we had a complaint that the engine components have been rested in peace.

What color is your 850 CSI? Thank God this has the 4 spoke, the non airbag one gives me diarrhea, only found in the poverty spec E31s lol.
