Synthetic biology doesn't just reprogram microbes. It's also construction of therapeutics or even creation of new organs or eventually living prosthetics for handicapped people. The latter has been my dream for years.

It’s also used to create smaller people to lesson carbon footprint and create food allergies to decrease our meat consumption.
It can also be used to predispose a population to being sickly…like a bioweapon.

@@johndawson6057 Educate yourself on S. Matthew Liao, the cureent Arthur Zitrin Chair of Bioethics and the Director of the Center for Bioethics and Affiliated Professor in the Department of Philosophy at New York University, with previously held appointments at Oxford, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and Princeton. Read his work on human engineering. These are ideas he is forwarding...not mine.

Synthetic bio😢 , I am a bioscience/life science, undergrad (with a triple major , zoology , botany and chemistry) , where should I go biotech, bioinformatics, environmental science, immunology every Ted talk convinces me from one to another

But have a clear goal in mind. Follow one hate none. U have to sacrifice 99 things to get one thing.

How old are you? you seem young, smart, but young. Talk with your family and talk with other people who are interested in your same line, use forums etc, but base your choices and conclusions on how much relativity it has to what you want to change in your community (where ever you want to end up)

The most important thing that should be on everyone mind currently should be how to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the world 🌍. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks gold, silver and digital currencies
