  • A game where I get to use a potent combination of NRB and ECF.

Good game! Want to see some games with Vitor corp. You said that this is top tier for you.

I'll be playing some Vitor when prelude goes into Beta on BGA.

I just had the same situation just delayed by one gen and not much else to do, but i couldn't afford both nrb and ecf in the same gen. Would you a) delay playing both to next gen to see what you'll draft, b) play nrb to get the tr or c) ecf for the plant (not a conversion)? surely not c, but a or b? i did b and it worked out fine but am unsure about it

Would do b. You already have them and are planning on playing them. Might as well start the cycle and get 1 extra cash.

Did you ever use search for life's active ability? I may have missed you finding the microbe tag in the video, but generally noticed that most turns you didn't search

I don't think I did. I can verify that I didn't find life at least. In general, it's not a great use of money early on and later in the game, I'm clearly winning, so I just focus on ensuring I can end the game. Also a lot of the microbe tags have already been accounted for, so the odds are a bit lower.

When playing helion its better to go for a terraformer strategy?
Is there some circumstance that you want to go long game with helion?

    • @ThreadPacifistTM

It's always going to be based on the cards you have, but it's better to spend the heat as heat than as money in a default setting. Because of that, you generally want to terraform, but if you find cards that support engine, Helion at least lets you pivot without letting the heat go to waste. No other corp can pivot as efficiently.

Why do you use a term like game control?
I understand what you mean, but what's the point of it existing at all?

Since the end of the game is not fixed, it's in our interest to have control over when it ends. That helps us end into wins and not let opponents end into our loss. That's why I talk about game control. We ideally want to have control over the 3 parameters.

@@ThreadPacifistTM, ok, but that seems to have more sense from the terraforming strategy prospective

    Hello !
I'm surprised that in Gen 4 (8'13) you didn't use Optimal Aerobraking and Comet. OK, you wouldn't have had a heat bonus and it wouldn't have removed any plants from the opponent, but you could have had 2 additional NT so 2 more MC and 2 plants if you put ocean on it .
    + It would have cost: 7+21 - (3 + 4 cashback) - 12 titanium: 9MC.
You would still have 39 MC left and you could have paid for a general power plant + an electro catapult (11+17:28) and have 7 MC after the exchange plant for cashback.
    At the end of this round you could have had: 27 NT / 45MC (+7 cashback possibility) / 0 steel / 0 titanium / 1 plant / 0 power / 5 heat instead of 25/75/0/4/0/ 0/2.
Why not take this option, is the difference of 22 MC really more important than continuing to increase your income?

Not a big fan of playing electro cat if the only upside is I can see plants for 2 gens. Especially when I also have to standard a power. I need some repetitive way of using it and I don't plan on standarding an ocean to use it when I have AI central in my hand. Comet in this situation where it doesn't get me a conversion or cards doesn't seem very good. It's essentially 17 for 2 TR. Not much better than Release of Inert Gases. And since I have AI, I also don't want to push game tempo too much before I'm ready. Placing a 3rd ocean for an opponent who has moss or special design + algae could be annoying. And doing all of these plays could definitely delay AI central. That costs 32MC to turn online if I have to standard the power.
In general I value a bit of flexibility over a few MC. If I found nothing in the next draft I would start considering some of those plays discussed above, but the game is still young so no need to be impatient.
