Travolta turned out to be an absolutely fantastic actor too! He's had some serious duds along the way but that happens to the best of them - look at all the shit DeNiro has done over the past 20 years...but Pulp Fiction, True Colors (where he played a Clinton-esque-type President of the U.S) and SO many others over the years just goes to confirm that the guy is remarkably adept at his profession (and remains a fine dancer at that!)

I see so much negativity about John. I just don't get it. He really seems like a genuine, kindhearted, sweet, and down to earth person. Putting aside the scientology stuff, I just don't understand what it is that people don't like. When he was a very very young man, he dated a much older woman who had a double mastectomy from breast cancer and later recurring. He stayed with her, nursed her stood by her and took care of her all while shooting Saturday Night Fever.. That certainly exhibits personality traits that are admirable. Kindness, compassion, empathy, sympathy, even loyalty. Just my own opinion. And PS, he looks amazing "bald". 😊👍❤

Loved this! When John did his Danny Zucko line from Grease I almost fell over, because it was the 1st line of his from that movie I thought of! Grease was released on the week of my 13th birthday, & I was a HUGE Travolta fan, so I was SO excited to see the movie. It was so popular in my small town, it was held over for months, rather than weeks. I went to our little theater 13 times to see it. My mom refused to pay after the 2nd time, so I babysat & did odd jobs for neighbors to earn the money. I couldn't begin to count how many times I've watched Grease over the years. It's been 44 years since it's release, so I'm sure it's quite a few. Still love it.

That’s the exact same line I thought of too! I was 15 when Grease came out. I’ll never forget that the first time that I saw it. I went with my best friend Donna and her uptight mom. 🙄 Her mom was a teenager in the 50’s, so she made sure to point out everything that they were getting wrong. 🤦🏼♀️ She got all bent out of shape at Kinickie’s line to Rizo. “A hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card - when you care enough to send the very best.” Donna’s mom: “They use that slogan now, not back then.” Blah, blah, blah…I wanted to tell her to shut up and let us enjoy the movie but I was raised to respect my elders. However, I was 12 when Welcome Back Kotter debuted on ABC in 1975. I totally remember the Vinnie Barbarino dance. There were Welcome Back Kotter book covers, lunch boxes, t-shirts. That tv show introduced us to John Travolta. Saturday Night Fever made him a household name. Grease elevated him into the stratosphere!
In Junior High (now Middle School), we used to use those Sweat Hogs insults on each other. I remember that we expanded on them. It was:

Even thought I know what movie was being referenced the second Jimmy said it, and even thought they explained that he was the bad guy, I jolted a little bit when he switched to Nic mode and instantly understood what was going on. John Travolta is one of my favorite actors. He is incredibly talented and he is evidently a really nice guy too. He has been through a lot over the the years. His time in Scientology over the years has been disappointing but still....just love him
