I don't think they could get any of the original sound effects. Insomniac didn't have a file of the original games any more so they've had to create the sound effects from the ground up.
Glad I'm not the only one. It's the main thing that comes to my mind whenever I think of Colossus. I immediately thought of it before I even watched the video.
Also miss the original chant, and the yeti cinematic miss something, he normally jumps many times before getting crushed by the roof. Here it looks way too brief. But the rest of the level looks amazing, i just love how they worked on the music. It sounds just like the original, but with a better sound, what else could we ask for ?
joedalton155 to a point I agree. But honestly the way that it just randomly falls on him made me laugh my ass off due to the sheer randomness and suddenness
I like that the Colossus statues are now holding hockey sticks, it’s a nice touch. The music playing in this stage sounds pretty similar to the original, this track must almost be complete. The voices for the monks are less goofy and more laid back. I don’t mind this change, but I prefer the original voice direction. Spyro’s “collecting the Talisman” animation is great and I like that the portal assembled itself instead of rising from the ground. It looks cool.
I know it probably sounds like I'm nitpicking, but, I'm not intending to sound like that, trust me, but, I like the old, nostalgic chant better. Aside from that, EVERYTHING IS EPIC! I can definitely live with the new chant, and it won't ruin the game if they keep the new one. I just think the old chant is better.
BruiseLeeRoy As said, I'm also fine with it myself. I like the old one better, but I can live with the new one. Colossus was one of my favorite levels, and Toys for Bob DEFINITELY did it justice. It looks amazing!
Don't be afraid to voice your criticisms just because people might say you're nitpicking. They'll say that anyway to people who don't think the game is perfect.
Riley Jacobs II Thanks. Honestly, I've been accused of nitpicking in the past when I said that I preferred the old gem counter over the new one. Of course, it's been fixed, as you can see, but I just wanted to make it clear that the new chant is not a game-ruiner, but, that it was just a small detail I'd like to see changed back.
A neat touch for the yeti would be that he roars, looks up to see the ceiling crumbling, and then gets crushed. (Man now I’m wondering what Crush and Gulp look like) And yes bring back the original crunch.
I agree that he should look up in surprise before getting crushed. When he did that roar and stomp he then just... posed. It felt a bit unnatural. Why just pose casually when he was roaring at a new enemy a second ago?
I am curious if Spyro is gonna stay mute for all the interactions for both avatar and the lost realms? Or if they will add him chiming in a bit, that might be neat.
Okay I have many issues here. Well maybe it's early build, but still: The sounds of the vases aren't loud and believable, the chanting of the monks is missing, the extra life sound is missing and the yeti at the end actually jumps a few times exactly causing that statue to fall on him.
I remember that. They must have fixed it this time around. My guess is Kill was in the original script but was changed later. They may have forgotten to rerecord the new line back then.
Were the Spyro worlds really that short? I mean i can´t remember exactly but back in the day i felt everything was so huge.. weird... like i didn´t think you could go through a level in 5 minutes.
Love everything! The monks chanting is fine with me, the music is perfect, the new "got talisman" animation from spyro is adorable, and did u see the paintings of what I'm guessing is Scarab and the other painting next to the world exit is Artisans homeworld, thus further proving the worlds are connected. Yasss!
PTSDSquirrel they could just take the sound from the original spyro game? If thats not possible then why not just have someone imitate the sound? That chant was one of the best things about this level. Oh just remembered something, why not take the person who sung the song for the level? they seem to know how to say “whyaiy aiy yum”
poor quality for an HD remaster pally. there was no person that is a midi sound from Stewart copelands piano. A lot of what we think are human singers are not.
Okay, visually I'm confused by the statues. Hockey sticks? And do the powerups/portal look over sized to anyone else? But the sounds are what are bothering me the most in this snippet - old chant, louder Sparx, Zoe's zap, and the voices sound just a little bit off. But you know what, this looks absolutely amazing. Zoe looks better, the other sounds are bringing back so many memories, and I'm super excited!
Colossus holds a special place in my heart. After beating the first Spyro, I played the Spyro 2 demo on Crash Team Racing countless times, and Colossus and Magma Cone were the levels on it. When I finally played the full game, my Dad and I both had a moment of excitement when we were exploring Summer Forest and found that portal with the familiar golden letters: “Colossus”. More than any other level in Spyro 2 Reignited, Colossus was the one I’ve been most excited for. The tone, the music, the characters, the chanting, the hockey - all of it is the definition of nostalgia in my heart. Even as an adult, when I replay Spyro, I get that nostalgic pang in my heart whenever Colossus’ chanting starts.
Yes I think they should ad the buzzing noise to Sparks, because the original sound is so satisfying to hear. Especially if you are already down to one life left.
Loving the game even more. I see Zoe is a bit brighter than in Idol Springs, that's a plus. Although, Sparx's sounds should be restored back to the original, with the buzzing sound included. That was fun to listen to. Also, the Yeti used to jump up and down to force the idol on top of him didn't he? That's missing, or just not completed yet. Even though the game is shaping up VERY nicely, I'm worried about extra details that may be missing...Will they have enough time?
They totally screwed up the voices. before they sounded so funny with how they sounded and spoke. now they sound like they just got out of bed. also the chanting comes no where even close to the original. also the yeti dies without even jumping once. what's with that?
I noticed several paintings of High Caves throughout this level. The citizens of Avalar had never seen dragons before, so it's odd that they have records and paintings of their realm.
Oh my gosh...the music. IT ACTUALLY SOUNDS GOOD!! GOODNESS, IT'S AWESOME! This gets me even more excited to hear what the final soundtrack will sound like. 😭
You're right that Toys for Bob has been working like crazy for this level and it really shows! The design of the yeti looks really scary in a good way and we also get to see some more goats, yaks, and little penguins. Did you notice that the music is improving slightly? We'll I know why that's happening! ;)
Dexeron Starsurge nah they said it was in house by tfb. They are using his soundtrack obviously but are remaking it but they never bought it and he had no direct influence with the making of the music. Until now it seems.
Watching this footage here at the back of our office. Trying my best to hold these manly tears. Thank you toys for bob for this awesome remaster. Cant wait for it’s release. 😍
Man Imagine Bentley rival up with this beast and battling him! At 0:51 To 0:58 I know this Is from the 2nd game only but watching this boss recreated truly amazes me with these kind of possibilities!
How'd they not realise how iconic their chant was? commaaaan... This does look great though, much better than Idol Springs which I wasn't entirely happy with tbh
Beside the missing chant, i have to say that it looks pretty sweet, and at the end when Spyro gets the talisman, the way he cheers up remindes me of dogs, freakin ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!
They should put in the little jingle that would play whenever you ate the blue butterfly!! It was so satisfying hearing that along with the original crunch!
In another person's video, I mentioned that when Sparx eats the 1 UP butterfly there should be that magical chime jingle, it seems to be missing from this gameplay footage. But I totally forgot about his buzzing hum as he zips towards the butterfly. That was pretty iconic in itself and satisfying to hear, it needs to return too! I quite like the current chomping butterfly sfx though, I thought the original was a bit too loud and cartoony (yes, even for a game like Spyro).
I wanted to point out also that the dialogue before the yeti was defeated. In the original, he says, "i think you should kill that yeti" but i this version, he says i think you should torch that yeti. Very kid friendly
5:03 Yeah, that's funny and all, but it's also kind of a tease, building up a potential boss battle like that only to go, "Nope, sorry! That's yer lot!"
I think that they should change the lighting in that room with the moving platform that goes up and down it was blue and now is red And in those roomes it feels kinda dark , everithing else is exelent
A few little nit picks: I miss the old chant, the talisman animation is to short, and I wish the yeti would jump. But I love the detail, like how they incorporated the hockey sticks, the portal animation and spyros little victory twirl.
Couple things: Did anyone notice the ox taking a small amount of damage from being hit with the edge of the flame? Is that new? In the original game, the vegetarian monk man says that you should kill the yeti, but the text says “destroy” instead of “kill”. I guess they opted for “torch” this time around.
Well, there's why the orb effect was so flashy. Thwy probably just used the Talisman effects for a placeholder. I would assume the sound effects for Sparx's snacks have yet to be implemented as they don't just seem quiet, but rather (largely) missing altogether. The gameplay of Spyro aged quite well for the most part.
Watching the footage, I just couldn't hold in my excitement: squealing with jaws wide open, it's too much. The music sounds very promising for Colossus and I am just loving what I am seeing.
I looove this!! I agree about spark’s munch and I really miss the ‘why-y-y-um’ from the original. However I adore the look of the enemies in this level and that portal reveal was incredible!!!!!
They seem to have listened to your concerns from the last video. I noticed multiple changes. Zoey is wearing brighter clothes, the jars are darker in tone, and some of the flashy ness has been toned down.
I also love the expression and movement of Spyro when he gets the talisman ! so cute ! ^^ and I also prefer the old chant but it is not a major non playing problem for me.... Thanks for the video
The fact Copeland is back on the soundtrack front is already showing. Great rendering of the theme. Also, glad they brought back the intro cutscenes. On that note, nice touch making the yeti more similar to Bentley. Always bothered me how these two members of the same species looked nothing alike
Oh forgot to add that it'd be better if the music during the dialogues would not be heard like in the old game and as well the camera angle of the convos be panned more from the ground panning up to the characters like in the old game too. Also the camera closes too much on Spyro when he goes through the portal. It should be a bit farther away. If Toys for Bob fixes this then it'd be the best thing.
Man, the level looks stunning! Just look at all that snow and grass together, so beautiful! I do agree with the Sparx eating the 1-up thing, in the original, breaking the pot has a completely different sound, you can recognize right away that you're about to get a 1-up and then there's that 'Tling!' when Sparx eats the butterfly and you get the 1-up. Here it's just really quiet and doesn't sound special at all. Also, PLEASE bring back the wahh yiayiayia wahh yiayiaa! xD There were no orbs being obtained in this showcase but I'm still hoping they'll change their animation to the bouncy one in the future!
i love how happy Spyro looks when he gets the talisman and the chanting is a bit off to me as well as the sequence with the Yeti, i miss the bit when the Yeti keeps roaring when you're close enough to the building at the end, and then jumps twice before the 'idol' falls on him when you initiate that sequence. other than that, im liking what Colossus looks like
I'm embarrassed to admit that for years I didn't really know what was going on in the opening cutscene of Colossus until recently, and I'm glad that the reignited trilogy is a lot more clear about it.
I love the whole level, there is just two little things I hope they fix which is the chant, at the end with the yeti hopefully they have him jump and have it land on him.Still overall it looks AMAZING!!
Kalea Jade Edit: i nvm i understand what you meant my bad 😅 ignore me please. -actually the yeti did jump in the original. 3 times. This was one of my favorite levels to play, glad they didnt completely butcher it! Just the monk sounds is all. and the yeti not jumping 3 times-
Elizabeth Dufour Yes, completely agree! To be honest I haven't really been impressed with any of the voice acting so far, except for Tom Kenny as Spyro of course.
Where's the "why aye yai yum?!"
It's still in development though, it may just be place holder sounds
I don't think they could get any of the original sound effects. Insomniac didn't have a file of the original games any more so they've had to create the sound effects from the ground up.
David-Jon Ballinger Could have gotten me to do it, I can do that sound perfectly! Lol
I'm disappointed with the new chant noise. Whoa, this is the first time I had a problem with something in the reignited Trilogy. It's crazy!
Of course is pretty freaking sweet. ^_^
Wi yi yi yo. Wi yi yi yo.
The only issue that I have is censorship.
Same
I said that as soon as I saw them chant...was disappointed by the new sound :(
I miss the ooohwhyyyie ooooooooo but besides that this incredible
Same, gotta have that way ay ay ow noise or it ain't legit.
So disappointed that they changed it i was so hopping that they kept that in 😞
Glad I'm not the only one. It's the main thing that comes to my mind whenever I think of Colossus. I immediately thought of it before I even watched the video.
Agree! Original chant is so much cuter!
Should have called Jackie Chan's uncle for some professional chanting
I love how when the Yeti beats his chest you can see hairs fall. Also the way the goat walks away in the intro cutscene is so funny.
Zachary Erickson in the belly of the yeti
Also miss the original chant, and the yeti cinematic miss something, he normally jumps many times before getting crushed by the roof. Here it looks way too brief. But the rest of the level looks amazing, i just love how they worked on the music. It sounds just like the original, but with a better sound, what else could we ask for ?
joedalton155 to a point I agree. But honestly the way that it just randomly falls on him made me laugh my ass off due to the sheer randomness and suddenness
joedalton155 I was wondering if anyone else noticed the brevity too!
TheAdvocate619 yeah it’s just funny that way
It feels too Skylanderish. That's the issue.
Its fitting for monks to be more laid back. Sure, they have problems, but they at least kinda solved it. No reason to panic that mutch.
I'm not panicking, I don't mind this change at all, it makes sense.
Pretty sure he meant that there is no reason for the monks to panic, not you.
Ascended 00 Hybrid Oh, my apologies.
Timothy Gauker I completely agree with all your points!
And another disappointing change. The monks dudes don’t chant “Aiyaiyaiyai
to be fair, this could be an earlier build
Aku let’s hope so but I mean that’s a small Detail that’s kinda a big deal. It’s not a deal breaker, just disappointing
they should say wololo
vinnythewebsurfer it actually is a huge deal I'm cancelling my pre-order
vinnythewebsurfer God Damn you must be a hoot at the parties
When this game is released, I think I’m just going to spend 90% of the time just looking at the visuals!
I really love the way the Portal magically constructs itself at the end of the level! Little details like that are brilliant.

Don't be afraid to voice your criticisms just because people might say you're nitpicking. They'll say that anyway to people who don't think the game is perfect.
Cycling goats don't hv that high pitched call any more also the chants ehh
Riley Jacobs II Thanks. Honestly, I've been accused of nitpicking in the past when I said that I preferred the old gem counter over the new one. Of course, it's been fixed, as you can see, but I just wanted to make it clear that the new chant is not a game-ruiner, but, that it was just a small detail I'd like to see changed back.
It worked great with OST which is kinda original still
A neat touch for the yeti would be that he roars, looks up to see the ceiling crumbling, and then gets crushed. (Man now I’m wondering what Crush and Gulp look like) And yes bring back the original crunch.
Super Joe101
They are more detailed than some of the minor baddies so maybe they'll look more similar to the original.
I agree that he should look up in surprise before getting crushed. When he did that roar and stomp he then just... posed. It felt a bit unnatural. Why just pose casually when he was roaring at a new enemy a second ago?
65 more days to go!!
ArrowCat Sooooo close and Yet so far away, or should i say Yeti so far away? (Hits drums then thinks of Stewart Copeland)
ArrowCat can not wait
And preferred sparx buzzing
JOHN TORRES yeee i think so
At least he doesn't pop anymore when piccking up gems.
Absolutely amazing, this is such a improvement compared to the last footage of Spyro 2. I can't wait to see what Year of the Dragon looks like.
Same here for Year of the Dragon.
it's probably the same build as the Idol Springs footage but they really did do a great job with Colossus.
I am curious if Spyro is gonna stay mute for all the interactions for both avatar and the lost realms? Or if they will add him chiming in a bit, that might be neat.
I can’t wait to do some remastered skateboarding in YotD. When I was a kid, I could skateboard there for hours.
His voice sounds way too calm. That’s not brilliant to just have him sound like the dilemma of the yeti has no effect on him.
Okay I have many issues here. Well maybe it's early build, but still: The sounds of the vases aren't loud and believable, the chanting of the monks is missing, the extra life sound is missing and the yeti at the end actually jumps a few times exactly causing that statue to fall on him.
My only problem is the size of the breakable items.
Ikr?? I could barely see them
I agree such small hit boxes are bound to get lots of dislike
Yeah they should make them a bit bigger I agree with u guys completely.
Please TFB, PLEASE bring back the icon "wyyyiiieeeeeooo" chant
I’m willing to bet money that’s Tara Stong voicing Zoe. I recognize her voice anywhere!
I remember Brother Ned telling Spyro to "Kill" that yeti in the original. But the text-scroll still said "Torch."
Nope he says torch in the original too. Check out the comparison video Tealgamemaster uploaded.
Teryaki11 I can’t hear the audio from the original in that video.
Charlene Alyssa Ingram actually you are correct, I had to go find the actual audio. He says kill but it says torch in the text box.
Teryaki11 Right? Guess they forgot to take it out. 😆
I remember that. They must have fixed it this time around. My guess is Kill was in the original script but was changed later. They may have forgotten to rerecord the new line back then.
I Love the look of the vases! 3:39
I wanted them to be more blue first but dude, that's amazing
I do hope they revise the chant in the final version! ❤ Otherwise this is fantastic. So excited 😁🤘
Violetta Ooooooowaaaah Whyyyyyooooooo!!! Ooooowaaaahh Whyooooooo!!!!!
Were the Spyro worlds really that short? I mean i can´t remember exactly but back in the day i felt everything was so huge.. weird... like i didn´t think you could go through a level in 5 minutes.
Not YourBusiness it might be because they skipped over some parts of the level
That must’ve been *soul crushing* for the yeti.
Boom boom tis!
I want the monk chants to be more like the original. The new sounds are a bit boring compared to the "waiyaiyaiyow" from the original trilogy.
Ryan Sparks you meant less annoying?
Валентин Жарков it's already less annoying, because your voice isn't in it.
@@CrazyDriver666 No just way more boring
Love everything! The monks chanting is fine with me, the music is perfect, the new "got talisman" animation from spyro is adorable, and did u see the paintings of what I'm guessing is Scarab and the other painting next to the world exit is Artisans homeworld, thus further proving the worlds are connected. Yasss!
OMG THAT SPIN SPYRO DID AT 5:21 OMG IM IN TEARS IT'S SO CUTE
The new monk chanting is terrible. The rest is great.
That voice actor is dead, wasn't gonna happen. Though curiously Tom Kenny is doing his Frozen Alter Character voice.
PTSDSquirrel they could just take the sound from the original spyro game? If thats not possible then why not just have someone imitate the sound? That chant was one of the best things about this level.

there was no person that is a midi sound from Stewart copelands piano. A lot of what we think are human singers are not.
@@PTSDSquirrel They could easily get someone else to do it
Okay, visually I'm confused by the statues.
2:48 4:24 Rip Cody from Surf's up. He was always my favorite spyro character.
Colossus holds a special place in my heart. After beating the first Spyro, I played the Spyro 2 demo on Crash Team Racing countless times, and Colossus and Magma Cone were the levels on it. breIoom Zoe looks brighter mostly because we only saw her indoors in the Idol Springs level
i mean crash left some details out but most people thought it was fine except those nitpickers
They still have 2 months, it's plenty of time for those little details, don't ya worry.
Yeah the details really make a remaster in my eyes. Without them, the charm feels like it's missing.
"I thought the yeti was tougher than that. I guess he was all bark. Ruff ruff!"
They totally screwed up the voices. before they sounded so funny with how they sounded and spoke. now they sound like they just got out of bed. also the chanting comes no where even close to the original. also the yeti dies without even jumping once. what's with that?

THE MUSIC IS PERFECT
Glad everyones on the Same page about Whyaaaa Whyyoooooo! Whyyaaaaa Whyoooooooo! Whyyaaaaa Whyooooooop!
The music is good! Yay!
It's the dynamic music.
When not in areas with enemies the music becomes calmer and quiter.
The majority of people don't, it seems.
Celt of Canaan Esurix We all want Copeland back and thats a fact. Theres a real soul he brings with his Knowledge of Music.
Jacob ! Copeland redid Dream Weavers last November th-cam.com/video/-Znl0JPeZ8M/w-d-xo.html I agree Copeland would bring much more to this.
Jacob ! Well it was better than the rest we’ve seen so far
That yeti so viciously hungry and so an ugly hideously mug

Bentley DOES have a boxing match with a Yeti in Spyro 3.
Still like the see the next footage once that comes out. Haven't boxed with Bentley for quite awhile now.
Cant wait to see the boxing match. If the can make Bently look this cool and fix the controls then im happy
That I can agree on.
I hope they add Sparx’s buzz when he collects the gems and his MUNCH sound when he eats butterflies!! I loved that!
This made my day! The intro looks great and the music sounds almost like the original!
Spyro’s little excited jump when he received the talisman 😍
I really like how the portal shows up and it has the name of the hub world on it.
Love that we actually get to see a door back to the home world, im happy with how its turning out, super excited to play it!!!!!
1:04 That Goat walked away like a boss. He like “Oh hell no, I am too young to die. F*** this I am out!” That was just funny 😆

Glad they kept the "wooooo eeyeeyeeyee, yuh" 😂 soundtrack to this level is nothing without it.
Better than the idol springs footage we received a couple of days ago imo
A few little nit picks: I miss the old chant, the talisman animation is to short, and I wish the yeti would jump. But I love the detail, like how they incorporated the hockey sticks, the portal animation and spyros little victory twirl.

The powerup gates look better in this level and more similar to the original than they did in the idol springs level we saw.
They seem to have listened to your concerns from the last video. I noticed multiple changes. Zoey is wearing brighter clothes, the jars are darker in tone, and some of the flashy ness has been toned down.
They also changed the counter to count up number by number instead of immediately showing the amount you have
Donut -Toast That was already shown off in the Idol Springs footage.
Oh i didn't know :0
This is just dope. Colossus was one of my favorite worlds in Spyro 2. :D
Ohh snap, the chanter dudes.
This was my favorite level in Ripto Rage.
i LOVE the sound of the gems !! and the music is much better ! beautiful 😍
I also love the expression and movement of Spyro when he gets the talisman ! so cute ! ^^ and I also prefer the old chant but it is not a major non playing problem for me.... Thanks for the video
Just missing the original chant noise. That was so awesome. And the Yeti scene, but other than that loving it so far!
Looks pretty good, all tho, I think some stuff is a little flashy, like the vases when you break em.
The fact Copeland is back on the soundtrack front is already showing. Great rendering of the theme. Also, glad they brought back the intro cutscenes.
On that note, nice touch making the yeti more similar to Bentley. Always bothered me how these two members of the same species looked nothing alike
I would like it to have the buzz sound from Sparx eating.
the gem and sparks sounds alone are nostalgic
Is that the portal with the words "RETURN HOME"?
The road to 100k man I know you can do it
They should add the buzzing noise back as well as when Spyro goes through the portal it look like it goes to a loading screen instead of him flying
The sound effects are what have been bugging me the most. The sparx sound and the sound when a vase is broken used to be so iconic
Looking great! Love the statues and there hockey sticks ha 😂👌🏼
Love the freaking music too, probably my favorite level from Spyro 2.
That little twirl Spyro does after getting the talisman is so cute!
i love how happy Spyro looks when he gets the talisman and the chanting is a bit off to me as well as the sequence with the Yeti, i miss the bit when the Yeti keeps roaring when you're close enough to the building at the end, and then jumps twice before the 'idol' falls on him when you initiate that sequence. other than that, im liking what Colossus looks like
I'm embarrassed to admit that for years I didn't really know what was going on in the opening cutscene of Colossus until recently, and I'm glad that the reignited trilogy is a lot more clear about it.
The vases and baskets seem smaller in this level for some reason. Like the vases are almost too small to look like they could hold the gems in them.
I love the whole level, there is just two little things I hope they fix which is the chant, at the end with the yeti hopefully they have him jump and have it land on him.Still overall it looks AMAZING!!
I completely agree with you but I think you should include the sound they make when they own the doors.
The Chant needs to be longer and the light effect a little more see through.
And the Yeti didn't jump either.
Kalea Jade
Edit: i nvm i understand what you meant my bad 😅 ignore me please.
-actually the yeti did jump in the original. 3 times. This was one of my favorite levels to play, glad they didnt completely butcher it! Just the monk sounds is all. and the yeti not jumping 3 times-
Raven October lol. I wonder what moneybags will look like? I hope we can torch in both games, hes annoying.
Kalea Jade lmao! That would be great. Would not want anything more. Prob the best part of 3 if im honest. Loved it so much!
Raven October >=3 Bear Roast!
Kalea Jade yas! :P
I loved everything! If they just added more sounds to sparx when he eats a butterfly, then in my book, this would be perfect
The voice acting is a little lackluster, especially when it comes to the jokes. I remember the original was hilarious.
Elizabeth Dufour Yes, completely agree! To be honest I haven't really been impressed with any of the voice acting so far, except for Tom Kenny as Spyro of course.
