I feel like this is the kinda thing you don't notice as a movie go-,er that often, but how the fuck did the editor actively put this together and think "yeah that looks good".
He got told to put in shots of the other guys and then people fought over how much screen time their character/avatar had and he got told to give everyone more screen time and the only way to do that was to rapidly cut between everyone constantly. I mean, I'm just guessing but as a editor, I've gotten similar notes on smaller productions. It's all ego.
Well i do not know if it award winning but the catwoman movie have it for entire movie. watch cosumant variety hour on it time 2:50 or catwoman baseket ball scene.
@@gandalfgrey91 Either you're trying to be clever and I'm completely missing it, or you're just unaccountably angry at a compliment. Most high production have too many cuts, and the people who do it could not be convinced its excessive. They have to be overzealous to get noticed and to make the ADD kids think they're paying attention.
If it was, there could’ve been better ways of doing it. Wether it be with small music cues, giving a few seconds to read the band’s facial expressions, or having writing that better communicates their nervousness. Choppy editing just doesn’t fit in a normal scene like this.
This movie fucking sucks and is a disservice to Freddie Mercury and the legacy of Queen. You can clearly tell that the actors aren't even in the same room half the time. It is a shameful and pathetic cash grab.

@@ShermanWilliamsVideo Why not have wide shots?
You might not notice it, but your brain did.
Probably the editor getting paid jack shit by idiots who don't know how to shoot a movie.
@@emptyblank099a the editor cannot magically go back in time to reshoot the scene, you work with what you are given.
Yes, this got the best editing academy award...
I thought you were joking. Fuck.
“Best” was apparently replaced with “most unnecessary” that year what the fuck
Academy Awards are a joke.
I'm gonna be honest i didn't notice this when i saw it in theaters
Same
No i can't unsee it
Probably because you’re a brainless donkey
Same and I even watched it twice xD
aparently the majority of the academy didn’t because this won best editing
this hurts my head
this felt like a 5 minute long scene lmao
Holy shit. I do not get seasick in videogames, VR, or even on a literal boat.
But this made my head hurt.
This feels so hectic it makes me feel nervous
Nearly as many cuts in 100 seconds than cuts in 100 minutes of Casablanca
how many cuts are in Casablanca?
@@MichaelKaufman0 nearly 100
@@Skater711 so below 100?
Any other "Award winning" films have similar scenes with insane amounts of cuts?

I might be in the minority but I always hated the editing in The Departed and that was an oscar winning film.
@@IveGotToast but this film won best editing which makes it worse ahah
@@charliewhelan9488 so did the departed
I tell you, as soon as Dexter Fletcher got ahold of this movie it felt a lot better.
now i have headache
Freddy is a big guy.
for you
I wish they just went with the 4 hour version
man that is a lot of cuts! is the editor that drunkenly quick and cheap just to win an Oscar or what
My eyes actually hurt a little after watching that.
Look up cat woman basketball scene. 140 cuts in 2 mins
i feel like the editing oscar was because freddies voice was heavily blended with the actors voice.
This is funny. xD well, that’s probably leaning towards sound editing/mixing, which this movie also won
@@Alec.V. oh. ok. never mind
That whole movie got me dizzy with all those cuts
I'm gonna have a siezure
omg you need help ?
He’s gone. We lost him.
Good job on your video criticizing the editing of this film and then blowing my ears out at the end.
I love the _Price Is Right_ music at the end. Nice editing work.
Edit: just realized that might sound sarcastic/ironic. It’s not.

@OfficialSmuglyFrog the sneedeta man
How did this fucking win??????
I never watched the movie....but jeeez all this cutting is making me feel dizzy.
Theses gotta be duplicates aswell. Was going to go see it, but cant now knowing this annoying editing style.
This scene was apparently only edited this way because they ran out of time to fix it. Here’s an article about it: wapo.st/2TwsLIy
The whole movie is like this! I get dizzy trying to watch it now
Was all the cuts a part of your plan?
I thought maybe they'd slow down 20 seconds in, after that it becomes really annoying
There's also a post which shows how bad the editting is , in this scene
Lol what is little finger doing here. Go back to GOT
It's like a bad let's player had edited this.
Lol
sneed
this is hard to watch
It tries to express the nervousity of those guys meeting John
