Yes so lovely with blooms. Especial at this time of the year. And its Dendrobium time. Mine nobile are starting to open. What a show it will be. Wow what great light you have in your garden now.
I am so envious. What am I doing wrong? I have 80, all Phals. I'm new at this but I read and watch and learn.. I'm homebound. They are my source of comfort. Healthy but few spikes, no blooms.
Many possible reasons - firstly, if you haven't had them long they will have been forced into bloom to sell. They can take quite a while to recover and grow on to become 'proper' blooming size. A constant environment will inhibit blooms so a change is good - eg a cooler brighter place for 4 weeks or so (but don't drop below 15-16C of poss).
Nice to see all the spikes, buds and blooms. The only blooms I have are the Pleurothalids, that were in their element during the damp weather. The sun is welcome, but not the cold Good luck withe the balancing act.
here in Highlands daylenght increases even faster than down South. I've adjusted a timer of our outside light by 30 minutes today as it was still very bright when it came up in the afternoon. compared to the shortest day we gained cca. 26 minutes so far and will gain another cca. 71 minutes by the end of this month.
Your dendrobium infundilum buds look like they are on an old leafless cane. Is that normal? I got mine to bloom and have some short old leafless canes. Can those produce buds later on? I need to repot it later on, so do I lave the old canes? Another cane, taller, didn’t bloom at all. Seems like there was something to come bus dried up. Any ideas?
Forgot. I bought my infundilum “Judith” after I saw it at your other home and was enthrall with the flowers. Almost lost I, bloomed small and off color but now large while flowers with yolk color lip. Only 2 so I wish the other cane had bloomed like your.
non orchid folks just dont get how exciting it is to wake up to a flower in bloom. its like christmas morning!
It's probably because 'we' know the work involved.
Lovely to see all the open blooms and promising flower buds ! 👍🧡😊.
Dendrobium Hibiki flowers look like springtime crocus blooms. Can you see it ? 😁.
Yes - they are similar (but last a LOT longer).
Your plants seem to be doing very well with all the colours you have flowers and spike or come in. They all look very nice.
Thanks.

More light, or a drop in temperature can spur budding

My hibiki is doing well. I can't wait until it's mature enough to bloom. Thanks Roger
It normally blooms on the leafless canes but I've got/had blooms on canes that have still got all their leaves.
Nice to see more blooms and lots of buds.
Thanks.
Very nice blooms and spikes. Snow ❤, what I would give to be a bit cooler! 35 degrees and 85% humidity in Hervey Bay Queensland
I would like to live somewhere where the weather was more stable - but not that warm. Good steady 18C to 26C would be good with some rain every week.
@@RogersOrchidsGardenandBonsai when you find “that” place, let us know 😆
Wonderful blooms
Thanks.
Nice, lots to look forward to
Thanks.

We're up to 8:20 and will be 9:10 by the end of the month. I'll be starting to use the lights when we reach 10 hours about the middle of Feb.
we are up to 7:23 today and will be 8:29 on 31st this month. but our shortest day is 6:52 lol
Nice blooms and all those spikes and buds makes the future promising - thank you Roger.
You're welcome.
Nice blooms
Thanks.
Roger did you try Nina's garlic spray?
No.
You should try it

This Den. will bloom on any cane older than a year - so those with leaves in their 2nd/3rd year and on those that have lost their leaves.

I almost asked why your Cymbidiums are sitting in water and then I realized they are on glass tables.🤣
Portable extra space while they're inside.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking that 🤣
