  • Get You Own PaleoHikerMD Patches HERE!: www.etsy.com/s... This video details our family 72 Hour Bag , or BOB (Bug Out Bag). My bug out bag was designed to provide food for the 4 of us for 3-4 days, several means to purify and make water potable, fire making capabilities, two methods of boiling water with which to rehydrate our emergency food, several means of communication both amongst ourselves and with the outside world, tools needed in an emergency and to build temporary shelter, all in an easy to carry package. Every family should be prepared for an emergency that calls for them to leave their home quickly and with minimal time to pack. Thanks for watching

5+ years later. I would love to see what your 72-hour bag looks like now...

If everything goes to shit and you need to make fire, just use a magnifying glass. The most important thing you can bring is your first day kit because someone will get hurt and there’s nothing you can do, but rely on the first aid kit. Next water can be brought by finding water with the map or slowly making water in a ditch, and then a bag drop water droplets into a bucket if it doesn’t rain much.

I really like the way you explained the reasons for what you have chosen to put in your 72-hour BOB. My suggestion is you that add some cash to your bag as well as something that might be comforting to your family in a BugOut situation.
Thanks so much for posting the video, keep up the good work!

I really like your set up. It's an awesome urban kit. I would recommend a water blatter something 3L or more. Just my opinion, I wouldn't want to keep stopping to fill up the bottle filter to be the only carry on water source.

    1. Have you and your family tried that emergency food. And 2. I heard McDonald's burgers last for years. Lol. GREAT VIDEO!

You have given me things to think about. Thank you.
Have a question: people have all these different bags. What is you need or want all of them? I imagine a camel or front and back carry on every member of the family and that won't last long. Thoughts?

Vary good. that radio is one of the better ons. In the com industry me call it good ears { good tuner }.All the main bases are covered. My wife sases that i have to stop giving you shit about not having TP ! :) About the only thing a would recommend is get a cheep 4 man tent , sleeping bags pads and a pack to carry it for your wife. It will be lighter to carry than your pack .Good job. Keep learning and testing . Maybe join a CERT class .

There is certainly irony in you giving me so much shit about the TP... ;). The tent and sleeping bags are on the list, will happen eventually. Thanks again for the feedback!

With all different emergency kits (family, kid, car kits) it is overwhelming and I don't even know where to start building emergency kit. Would you suggest to build family emergency kit first? What would be very basic things that you would start of with?

I would suggest this, what is the most likely type of emergency you could see your family actually going through? I think the most useful type of kit is a car emergency kit because we mostly use our cars all the time...this is particularly important if you travel in remote areas often, or you live in a cold weather environment. Once you have that set up (just sit down for a night of youtube to get ideas, I have videos on all these kits, and will but putting out updated versions hopefully this year). Personally I would then move to a family BOB, and then individual BOBs for your family members. Thank you so much for watching, and feel free to message me with questions!

Good work 👍Shelter being a top priority, perhaps a small tent would offer a lot more protection from the elements than rope and a tarp?

Great video! I'd assume you have tried eating the food insurance or at least a sample of you enjoy it than that will work I'm not at all putting down food insurance because in an emergency any food will work but check out a company called Wise Food
    www.wisefoodstorage.com
I tasted a few different survival foods and so far I think they taste the best it's not better than a home cooked meal but yea! Also I'd suggest getting a titanium water bottle it doesn't rust and you can boil water they are kind of expensive again great video nice organization!

TEST S Hey, thanks for watching! I agree with you on the food, this is the only food insurance food I have (that said, what is in this pack is just Mountain House meals so I'm good with it.) The food I have stored for my family that is dehydrated or freeze dried is all from Wise Food. I also have plenty of Titanium stuff, just not in the bug out bag...hate to spend the money on that for it to sit there. I hope that if ever needed I will grab my bushcrafting backpack that is always packed and bring it with me. Plenty of goodies in there :) All my outdoor equipment is in one place and easy to access. If ever needed I hope to be able to grab it and go...should take 60 seconds to gather it all up. Thanks again for watching!
