Generally speaking, I’ll never understand what people find so appealing about a heroic figure acting dishonorable or mercilessly. A number of people will look to it like it’s a good thing, often calling it ‘badass’. Though, if anything, I don’t not see Batman breaking Bane’s back. Seems like poetic justice, to me

Batman certainly cheated in this fight, but He gave Bane a chance to give up before he resorted to the back break. Ever still a hero that plays dirty in a way that would save lives while also not being overly brutal to a villain should be fair play.

well if that is the case he should have just shot bane in the knees with a .50 cal hollow point and that would be that, he is not killing ... but that would be out of character for bats (heck that would have been a smarter choice than injecting bane with an amped up version of venom and then trying to have a fist fight - doesn't seem like a great strategist)
I was sorely disappointed with how this was handled. It was done better when Nightwing was shot and he f***ed up KG Beast. Left him in the snow, almost like a callback to when he boarded him up in the sewers and left him.

Although I do think batman can fight honorably, I don’t think its out of character to “cheat” so to speak if it ensures the safety of others lives. After all, sneaky tactics are his specialty. And several of his tools often give,him a leg up against the super powered members of his rouges.
Given the steaks with bat girls condition, I think its fair to say he wasn’t in the mood for playing around this time.

How was that cheating? He used Bruce’s own obsession and determination against him. No one told Bruce to try and round up all of those arkham inmates alone or to spend three days non-stop doing so. Tom Hardy’s Bane said it best “Victory has defeated you.”

Everybody is so preoccupied with Batman cheating to one-up his fight with Bane, but then here comes another Batman (which I am to assume is Thomas Wayne) disrespecting his son's moral code and killing Bane in the process. Bitch, he did all this shit for YOU and Martha; so, why betray him and side with Wesker?!
He never killed Bane, he just shot him in the end, later on when it ends, Bane breaks Thomas back in Arkham as payback for betraying him

@@travmadison2000 His motivation was to make Bruce happy by teaming up with Bane, taking over Gotham, then putting Bruce into a dream machine, and then killing Alfred (yeah Bane did that but it's not as though Thomas seemed to care), so he would stop being Batman, and be happy. How does that even begin to make sense.
@@idk9149 Wow clearly you didn't read the comic. Like at all, I am guessing maybe you just looked at the art, because you are sooo far off and really missed the whole point behind his character.... His motivation wasn't to really make Bruce happy per say, it was to make Bruce see that he doesn't need to be Batman. That he (Thomas ) can be Batman instead so Bruce can live a life, free of the "Vow" he made. Because as his father, all be it an alternate reality father, he felt and knew the pain and loss he went through and the process to be comes the Batman in the first place since he himself was the Batman of his reality. It is why He teamed up with Bane, to break Bruce down, to have him "beaten" so he could see the folly in being and dedicating himself to being Batman. This all comes full circle from their time together from the New52/Rebirth and the Button. Its party why he went and dragged Bruce through the desert to revive Martha so they could be a family.
I mean jesus it pretty much tells you all of this shit, in the last issue of City of Bane, when Bruce and Thomas confronted each other after this fight with Bane....

People call it “dirty” or “cheating” but the way I see it, Batman (unlike most of his fans) realizes he’s only human. It’s because he realizes that he’s human in a super world that he does what he needs to do to survive. The way he does that by still sticking to his morals is what makes Batman such a great hero and Bruce a respectable man
There are many in-universe ways for Batman to become superhuman and become more effective at helping people. The whole "no power hero" thing is really just lame and a gimmick lol.

I am not against him fighting dirty. I am definitely for him fighting very effectively with a secondary objective of inflicting as much permanent fear as possible within the confines of the criminals hopefully stopping being criminals, but only in the confines of his morality. So that means no killing, trying to at best no collateral damage at all.
This should be all here, but the last ingredient is things he sometimes does on the mission, but doesn‘t like to do is general morality stuff. Things like „He doesn‘t like to hurt people, or in other versions he doesn‘t like that he feels nothing about it/maybe likes it.“, lying, hurting peoples privacy, hurting their trust. When we see him doing so, it is because he values the upper category more, and thinks this would be the best way to get them done, that he can come up with right now.
You can say now that he thinks that, but to really uphold the image of that, at least in my opinion it should be shown as a thought bubble, or by him explaining bane what he thought. The pure „I LIED!“ with the action face isn‘t doing him justice, when he should know that this reflects badly on him right now.
He could just become partially vampire or full to even playing field he is the bat gods avatar after all.
Just because he's a hero, doesn't mean he has to be a boy scout. Playing fair doesn't win you wars.
Batman isn’t necessarily a “hero” in my eyes. He values life, but he’s definitely an anti-hero due to his lack of sympathy towards his enemies. He will break bones, he will put you in the hospital for weeks before you’re put in Arkham lol.

There was one Batman comic from years ago (cannot remember which issue or year) that strongly implied that Batman and Bane had the same biological father. I remember one panel showed 2 test tubes labeled 'B Wayne' and 'Bane'. Whenever I see them fighting each other, I wonder about this.....

(he barely wins this)... bane is a great strategist but so is bats and a missile to knock the building on top of bane and then a beat down would make more sense... or even one of those crazy gizmos in his utility belt - he has fought beings more powerful than bane using gadgets he could have done the same here

He's supposedly a genius detective, master tactician and martial artist and the best plan he could come up with is jumping Bane and taping batarangs to his back? If you want to see how this fight should've went, watch the Batman vs The Mutant leader rematch.
The mutant leader isn't as strong as bane though I think, and I think bane is more of a threat
@@poptro5229 He very much is, Mutant Leader is just a huge bodybuilder while Bane is a drug induced Hulk. Bane could very easily kill the Mutant Leader with two hits, Bane's fist hit's the Leader's face and Leader's face hits the ground.
Plus Bane is meant to be a super genius. He's meant to be brains and brawn. I feel like him actually giving Catwoman the benefit of the doubt enough for her to assist Batman in cheating undersells his tactical capabilities.
This is exactly why Tom Kings run in Batman was horrendous. This, the wedding, shooting Dick in the head, the list goes on.

Honestly Batman is a fool for not using one of the countless serums, magical artifact, divine artifact, or even just technology to permanently give himself some measure of super powers. He needs to have enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced senses, and a healing factor. With those additions he would be unstoppable.

Bane knew he was no match for the Batman when he is at full strength...by the time they fought, Bruce had nothing left in the tank, at his weakest and that's how Bane defeated him. When Bruce healed, built himself up, he soundly defeated him.

When your constantly in fights with people who can pick up a 747 and throw it like a baseball you have to fight dirty or you die.The rest of them have the luxury of a fare fight because they can withstand hits from other superpowers the Bat cant.
Cat Woman giving Bane any difficulty? No. Bruce lifting Bane over his head? No. Martial Arts training doesn't allow you to lift a 400lb body over your head, sorry.
Batman is 6'2 240 pound brute of a man that can lift 400 pounds over his head easily.
@@tubucoco I don't think you understand how hard it is. First off, anyone strong can lift FAR less over their head than they can bench or deadlift. second, its a body, not a barbell. Its uneven weight and no handles. 3rd, looking at the picture again, I might be under weighting Bane. I can see Batman winning the fight with tactics but he isn't lifting an unwilling (even it hes knocked out) Bane over his head. If you want a sort of real life comparison, the Ultimate Warrior was bigger than Batman and couldn't lift Hulk Hogan (300lb) over his head without assistance from Hulk, and even then he struggled.
You have to remember Batman is written to be stronger than any other normal human. He can bench 1000 lbs so picking up someone twice his size is believable. Jon Cena has picked up the Big Show in real life and he weighs almost twice as much as he does(240 lbs vs 450). Yes, I know its WWE and the person being lifted helps somewhat but Big Show is heavy nonetheless.

I could slam someone who had a ton of weight on me when I was younger (too much sitting and computer games now) but couldn't overhead press nearly as much. Goldberg Also did his slam move on the Giant but He couldn't overhead press someone who was 100 pounds lighter than the Giant. (I go by his original WCW name) Source on batman benching 1000 lbs? I mean its a comic book where we have super powers and aliens but I just think him pressing Bane over his head is a bit much.

And the Big Show is about the size of a Bane. I clearly understand what you're saying about how hard it is to get someone of that size into position to get them up and over your damn head. Lol
It's a massive body with no handles on it for assistance like you said, but I've seen people manuever themselves into a position in order to try and lift a person and they did it, 'buuut' not a person the size of a Bane. Lol But the only thing I'll say on behalf of Bats is that we know the guy is uniquely "driven" to do something. He has this rage in him to do something even if it kills him. Lol (As the comics describe him anyways)

BatMan should have always been a stand alone character even when it comes to comics in my humble opinion because he just doesn’t fit in a world where other characters are superhuman.
You ever think about how weird and sort of creepy it is for her to run around in a dark black gimp suit with cat ears and some claws and call yourself Cat-Woman. She doesn't even have any significant Superpowers. She's just a cat gimp that is witty and good at fighting.
Peacemaker vs Judomaster is how a fight between Bane and Batman should and would go down , being more skilled would still get overwhelmed eventually by raw power and sheer strength.
Plot Armour is the reason why Batman hasn't gotten his head bashed yet by the likes of Bane, Deathstroke and Ras etc overrated fodder protected by plot.

It reminded me of the Batman in the "Dark Knight" animated movies.
There the old Bat even after being broken by the Mutant's leader, goes in challenging him to one-on-one combat in front of his minions to earn the respect of those misguided young corrupt minds.
He does play smart by choosing to fight in the mud and having a tactical plan to take down the stronger opponent.
He did not actually cheat but played smart.
Because he had to prove a point.
And because he also knew that he was too old to beat the Mutant leader without any handicaps. So, he played smart.
Here the Batman purely lies and cheats and acts dishonorably.
and that after removing his mask answering Bane's challenge.
This version is weak.
And its not the cheating.... Its because the way he does it here completely disregards the foundations of Batman's character and resolve
He does what he has to.
I prefer 100% this Batman than the one being randomly stronger than any other DC's entity. Having the most op plot armor... without cheating and fighting honorably, that's straight up bs.
Imo this makes more sense, and remember... he is Batman. He'll use almost every trick on his sleeve in order to save someone and defeat the bad guy.
For me it's more insulting when they make him op af, and goes toe to toe with gods like Darkseid. It's ridiculous, it's lame, it's bad writing, it's lazy, and just ruins the character. It's hard to relate to, cheer for him, take him seriously or even be afraid for him... if he can defeat gods or entities with the "10 min prep time" bs, then... why should i worry when he fights any of his villians? how tf do i take him seriously?

@@tai2664 yet is dishonored Bruce's character. Bane killed Alfred, and the way Bruce is as a character, he would have wanted to take Bane down himself. That's one of the countless reasons Kings run was terrible. Fighting dirty is fine, but once Catwoman joined in and was the main damage bringer to Bane that ruined it. Bruce was grieving and this was supposed to end up being the ultimate test of his character. Joe Chill 2.0 and this time, he wasn't a small, scared, and helpless child. This time, he was Batman.

Not in "fair" one vs one fight with no gadgets or help at all.
Bane is just stronger, simple as that.
Batman may be faster, agile than him... but he is not stronger. Not even close. All it takes is one punch from Bane and that's it, game over.
BUT Bruce it's smarter, and he knows how to use that as advantage.
Let's just think about it for a second, he fought Bane for years and won only cause his gadgets, help and smarts.
If he suddenly won Bane here in the fair fight then... why all the trouble of their earlier battles? If Batman could've win in one v one, it's clearly plot armor. And lazy writting.
But it's not something that i would choose, Batman cheating, all the time tho.
But in this case i understand why he did it.
Also i haven't read this comic so idk how Alfred acted here, but i'm sure he wouldn't give a shit on how he defeats Bane, as long as Bruce survives and defeats him.

I love Catwoman helping him and thought it was awesome how she mauled Bane, but I wish that Batman fought him honorably. Yeah Bane cheated in their very first fight making Batman spend so much time fighting all those criminals while he was sick but it would have been more satisfying to see them Duke it out one v one no masks, no help, no gimmicks, at least imo. I'm certain Batman could have beat Bane without Venom.

See, this is why you never have your protagonist fight dirty. Because, in this scenario, Batman seems like the villain. Throughout this fight, I want Batman to lose. If you showed this to someone who had no clue about anything in this story, bane looks like the hero. He has to overcome odds stacked against him, he has the sympathizing speech, and he is the one who has to dig deep to come out on top. And even then he loses. And to the people saying that Batman taking off his mask shows how he respects Bane, in this situation, it shows the opposite. He's willing to use something bane holds dearly as a tool. That is not respect.

He also is as good at hand to hand combat if not better because compared to bats, moon knight kills and is more than happy to take a hit go get hit any day. Also has enhanced strength by a large amount when not on sunlight and moreso under moonlight even in ultimate
