    Bro, I am from Belle Glade -- SW Ave B Place, at the end of street near the train tracks. I am also a magna cum laude from Harvard. I have gone all around the world, but I will always BE FROM BELLE GLADE. I will always have the muck in my heart. It's a tough place. Some people need to just drive through and not get out of the car. But the people who live there are really good. It is the only hometown I will ever have and the only one I will ever want.

      Thank you for mentioning that! In the early 2000s, I used to visit Belle Glade and had the chance to do a few concerts at Black Diamonds. Fond memories!

      I can confirm as it looks very intimidating from the car window, I found out ppl are nice and sweet. I got a flat tire, just other day on my way to Miami (we were evacuating from Hurricane Milton). Got flat on the dirt road w/n cell service , with 2 kids not knowing what to do. My car hv been towed and fixed within couple days. I like ppl straight forwardness, they try to play the game with me like we are close etc, but thn quickly realized that I'm in the pickle and in big trouble if I don't get my car fixed and get out of there :). Soo all good.

    Back in the 60-70s Belle Glade was known for its farmland and livestock auctions. My Dad would visit occasionally looking for more beef cattle to buy and sell. And later a horse. Very nice place back then.

    I find these vlogs really captivating. This one hit me on a profound level, witnessing the way our community lives here in the US. In certain aspects, it brought back memories of Haiti.

    It's truly disheartening to see the dire state of this town. It's astonishing that people are living in such conditions here in Florida, with many buildings left abandoned. This situation is quite astonishing.

    I have seen worst places outside of Florida. But in Florida, this is one of the worst rural towns I have seen in years. I seen no new construction, and a lot of old rundown buildings. The city leaders in that town sucks.

    I passed through belle glade this past weekend while on the way to okeechobee, and it was truly so sad to see a city like that. I’m from Miami so I’m used to a whole different vibe, but there were so many abandoned buildings and so much homelessness.

    I’m going to be honest with you. A lot of the yards are kept very nicely in Belle Glade. This is something that everyone can see in your presentation. Not nearly as bad as you make it out to be.

    • @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS
      @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s all about perception. Homeowners who take pride in their homes and yards are definitely maintaining what they own, no question. But the city neglecting the infrastructure in Belle Glade is a serious issue that needs addressing. Thanks for your input and for watching!

      The information I'm sharing about your city comes directly from the ACS, as well as local and federal government sources-this isn't something I made up. Unlike other urban neighborhoods in Florida, Belle Glade faces unique challenges. My intention is not to bad mouth your city or speak negatively about our people. This video focuses on the overall conditions of your city, highlighting that it is among the worst in the state of Florida.

  • @GeeGeeNaturally
    @GeeGeeNaturally 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Continues to die?I was born and raised In Belle Glade.with that being said those old buildings has been there before I was born.our town is just country and it plays a Huge part in Florida’s agriculture....what are you talking about sir?you only seemed to show the streets/hood,in which I’ve seen some parts in big cities look the same way,even worse.Plus we also have suburbs with beautiful homes 99.9% owned by Black families.but you failed to show that,you need to do more research.

    • @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS
      @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've done my research, and Belle Glade is not 9.99% Black-it's 57% Black. The poverty rate ranges from 27% to 40% among its roughly 27,000 residents, which is more than three times the county average of 11.4% and the US poverty rate of 11.5%. My concern isn't with the suburbs; it's with those enduring these harsh conditions. Some buildings should be condemned, yet people are still living in them, highlighting how little the city of Belle Glade cares about its citizens. The mayor and city council should be ashamed. If they won't address this issue, it's time for local business leaders to step up and make a change. Thanks for watching!

    • @GeeGeeNaturally
      @GeeGeeNaturally 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@TIMJMEANSBUSINESS you’re numbers are way off,anyways What you call poverty we call CULTURE...and so what if people are still living in them,what harsh conditions? again we are country,sir I lived there my whole life,nobody’s enduring anything-again do more research include the good with the bad.!!

    • @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS
      @TIMJMEANSBUSINESS  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@GeeGeeNaturally These are not my numbers, these are your local government. So are you saying the State of Florida and Palm Beach County are wrong, but you're right? The 5 largest ethnic groups in Belle Glade, FL are Black or African American (Non-Hispanic) (57.2%), White (Hispanic) (13.2%), White (Non-Hispanic) (12.2%), Two+ (Hispanic) (8.43%), and Other (Hispanic) (4.82%). Regardless, your lack of concern for those living in such conditions is evident. Living in rundown homes and apartments isn't "culture"-it's poverty. Thanks again for your feedback.
