really nice interview. "a strange crossover there"--yes, it's a head-scratcher. "the first hunger is always making music"--this is the mark of an artist versus the kind of person who gets into it for their 15 minutes of fame--another reason that the pop crossover is a head scratcher.i like the interviewer's remark on getting soul and blues through the back door into the pop landscape. it's not like pop music HAS to be as bad as it generally is today; it certainly wasn't in the past.
